We've bought the car. A proper local genuine garage. Pick it up Saturday.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/02/2020 12:10

That's good news, Wreck. What type is it?

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 15/02/2020 12:11

Oh, and can't you get your breakdown cover to take the car back to the garage? They aren't going to do it as they're cowboys. Then they'll say you're too late. I can see what their game is from here.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 15/02/2020 13:00

They've told me they're collecting it Monday so I'll see what happens. We know someone who can take it back for us if need be and then we will charge them even more for it. I think my email scared them.

It's a Nissan note 2011 has done 55000 miles.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 15/02/2020 13:25

Nissan notes are ok. My friend has one.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/02/2020 13:37

Doesn't mother have one, why?

The garage bloke just told us that he's paying us back the whole amount we've asked for. It's not going to knock anything off the purchase price really, but it will pay for all of the repairs, thankfully.

We're just waiting for it to arrive in DH's bank. Threatening to report the MoT garage seems to have assisted us, we think!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 15/02/2020 13:39

That's good news fluffy but it still doesn't compensate for the stress, time and hassle Angry

NoWordForFluffy · 15/02/2020 13:42

No, not really. He's apparently going to ring to apologise! But it's empty words really, isn't it?

It's been awful, as we don't have the money lying round for all of this shit. Hurrah for credit cards!

We're getting about £200 extra on top of the repairs. But the car will be sorted for a good while then.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 15/02/2020 14:15

It is a Nissan Fluffy but it isn't a Note. Not sure what it is off the top of my head though.

Mrsmadevans · 15/02/2020 14:32

Great news Fluffy 🤗
Wreck excellent work 👍 Nissan's are pretty good cars imho ,🤗👍

NoWordForFluffy · 15/02/2020 15:25

Money is in. Phew. That was easier than anticipated! DH is just off to buy some prosecco and we're having chippy tea too. 😄

Yay for good car news Fluffy & Wreck (and welcome back to the thread)!

DHs stepmum had a Nissan Note for years then gave it to SIL. Never had any issues. Same for Micra his gran had and the XTrail we had. Big Nissan fans here 👋

MrsMad you are a saint with the help you give your mum, Bob and neighbours! also smiling because I don't know anyone except my family who use the word foof

Sorry I have been MIA. My feet haven't touched the ground between work, helping Dsis with childcare, sorting the house and planning our trip.
We are currently visiting the Isle of Man 🇮🇲
The seas are awful today (we flew out yesterday) so we're here for the storm, home on Monday.
It's so nice here and we're all enjoying the sea view.

Will try and catch up properly soon Xmas Smile

WreckTangled · 15/02/2020 19:26

Ooo yum fluffy! Nice Saturday night treat.

Crazy I loved my qashqai. So sad to give it back Sad but buying a car will put us into a better position financially so it's the sensible thing to do.

Morning!

Wet and wild overnight thanks to Dennis with more wild - not so much wet - forecast today. We're travelling tomorrow now as it's safer.

@flouncyfanny, are you OK? What's happening with your deleted messages up-thread?

Crazy, I bet it's breezy there. We're still under a weather warning tomorrow up today way, so I hope you get back OK!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 16/02/2020 08:14

We have big puddles in our garden but that's it. I know the toad down the road is flooded. It's awful in South Wales hope everyone is safe.

I think flouncy has maybe been outed as all her posts have been deleted?

Fluffy I'm pleased you've postponed travelling.

Dd was sick in the night. She's never sick. She did eat her left over taco 2.5 hours after I cooked it so maybe that was it?

Today's jobs are to do more washing, cook a roast and sort out car insurance.

EmrysAtticus · 16/02/2020 08:24

Sorry yet again for being AWOL! Hope everyone is safe in the storms? I am so glad it is half term after one heck of a challenging few weeks at work.

Gutted that I haven't been able to do anything with my allotment however as the weather has been so rubbish at the weekends. I am sowing seeds indoors now though so that's something. Roll on spring is all I can say!

Need to start putting away a monthly amount of money for Christmas again as it does make things so much easier later in the year.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/02/2020 08:30

I'm going to sow some seeds today. Some peas and broad beans can go outside and I need to check my list for what's being started inside.

What have you got on the go, Emrys?

Wreck, I looked after I posted, and I'm guessing you're right and she's de-regged. Flouncy, I hope you're still reading and OK.

There's been flooding in the Lake District too, which isn't good. These poor people; I can't imagine having to deal with flooding.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 16/02/2020 08:33

Oh I also need to phone hmrc and tell them I don't have the lease car anymore because payroll will take forever.

I hope flouncy is ok too

EmrysAtticus · 16/02/2020 08:45

So far I have potatoes chitting and leeks and red cabbages sown fluffy :) Need to get a heated propogator so I can start on my chillies and peppers. Any recommendations?

NoWordForFluffy · 16/02/2020 08:56

Go for the chillies you'll use. We mix up between medium heat and HOT! I just grow bog standard peppers, but they never do that well. I think they need a glass greenhouse really, not a poly one.

OP posts:
EmrysAtticus · 16/02/2020 09:02

Ah that sucks fluffy, I was planning to just get a poly greenhouse but maybe I should go for a mini glass one.

TheWoollybacksWife · 16/02/2020 11:56

Eek Wreck that looks bad. I hope our Welsh contingent are safe and dry.

I think we are due another squall this afternoon but currently it is just breezy and wet.

DH bought me a gift voucher for Woolwarehouse for Christmas and I spent it this week. I bought wool (obviously) but also bought a fabric advent calendar panel to make for DD1's new house. She's not found anything yet - she not even seriously looking but I like to be prepared 🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 16/02/2020 13:04

I like your style, Woolly! I'm sure she'll love it.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 16/02/2020 15:31

Someone tried to drive through it. Every time it floods someone does it. Ridiculous. The water is quite clearly dangerously high and now the fire brigade have to waste their time rescuing them. They were in a hatchback too Hmm
