DD’s right as rain now, so school as usual for her tomorrow. DS1 is still a little under the weather but is definitely improving. It’s nice to all be on the up. We’ll actually be able to get stuff done now so I won’t just be on here posting about us being ill😂

Good luck on the new job, why💖

I’ve been crazy about medicine since a few years ago, mrs, when DD got a tummy bug and I had nothing to help her. I always keep myself overstocked now. It sounds like your mums had a lovely day, you’re a brilliant daughter, you treat her very well. It sounds like an awfully busy day, you definitely deserve a rest. My mum was upset about me leaving home, but now she’s begging me to go when I see her😂. Both mine and DH’s family all live really close to us, no more than a 5 minute drive between everyone, 3 family members live on the same street and we live on the same street as FIL. I love it with everyone being so close but it’s be some people’s idea of hell. Lovely cake!

Did you enjoy the show, Neros? My SIL went and loved it.

It’s lovely that you got to see them photos, wooly. When my great nan died I got a lot of her pictures, I love them. Her and my great grandad had been together since they were 11 so there were some really old pictures.

Your cross stitch looks smashing, fluffy.

I’m sorry you aren’t feeling well, flouncy. I hope you haven’t got what we have🤞🏻

Mrsmadevans · 30/01/2020 23:12

Mumba thank you so much , l don't feel as if l am brilliant tbh it is just because l want her to be happy . If she is happy then l am too that sounds so cheesy yuk lol Smile
That is brilliant your DD is able to go back to school and l am the same as you , l have 6 bottles of cough medicine in the cupboard ready for the next bout of coughing Grin
I grew up in the sort of place you describe and l loved it too Smile I go back there most days now to my Mum and l see all the ppl l grew up with and they are all just the same . It is a lovely friendly place like a big family Smile
I better shift to bed, good night everyone Smile

Morning!

Another rubbish night's sleep. I had too much to drink last night and we ate loads of leftover Christmas snacks too. I'm feeling a bit icky!

Mrs, the fact that your daughter wants to leave home shows you've brought her up to be an independent adult. Well done; that's your role!

I'd hate to live in my family's pockets (sorry, why!). We're all busy anyway though. Even when we are nearby we don't see each other much. Though I've not lived nearby for 15 years now!

I like that we have local family in DH's, for childcare etc. And it's nice to get together when we have time too.

I have spares of everything. As soon as I am running low on the in use, I buy a third to back up the spare I already have. So dishwasher tablets, washing liquid, matches. You name it!

You've definitely got a corona virus, flouncy. Rest, fluids, paracetamol and some crafting, I think. A nice easy day for you.

I've trained DH a bit better than that, flouncy, thankfully.

It’s cloudy here today, and feels very bitter. I’ve attached a pic of the weather for today, I’m not looking forward to the school run😂. DD went in today, she was a bit upset because she thought people would be mean as she’s had so long off. She saw her friend and went straight in though.

I definitely think you’re brilliant, mrs, even for just thinking that about DM. A lot of people wouldn’t. I do love where we live.

It sounds like you had a nice night, fluffy, even if you’re feeling the affects of it nowGrin

Sorry you still aren’t feeling well, flouncyFlowers

Fanny they are gorgeous you are very good t them you know the one of the churches and the cats face are my faves but l love them all. I wouldn't have the eyesight or patience to do them!
On the frugaleer thread l go on to account for daily spending they were all commenting about the lovely crafting you all do and especially mentioned the cross stitch pics you all do Smile They lurk on here Grin
I asked them to come on down and enter the web of sin but they declined and said they were too busy but they love lurking Grin

Mumbassa · 31/01/2020 15:37

She’s a worry pot bless her, mrs. She’s completely different to the boys, they don’t have a care in the world. We’ve just got back and she had a great day thankfully.

Lovely cross stitches!

I’ve just finished meal planning for next week. I’m considering shopping at Aldi, we usually do Tesco’s or ASDA, but it comes to about £100 weekly for the 5 of us, including dog food and nappies which just seem to cost a fortune. I definitely want to reduce how much we’re spending though, I think I might try ALDI out this week and see what happens

Mrsmadevans · 31/01/2020 16:23

Mumba that is a relief for you Smile well done DD !
l go on this thread to keep a track on my spending Hmm
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/credit_crunch/3804596-Frugal-Friends-Finding-Financial-Freedom-In-February?msgid=93546798
They are very nice on there Smile
Aldi is my go to tbh but l use My Supermarket app before l go shopping to see what the prices are. That means l go everywhere the offers are . l am a supermarket whore Grin
The things l buy are very good from there tbf. Their fruit n veg isn't the best l would say but it isn't bad. I like Tesco for fruit n veg . I also like Waitrose but it is really expensive so only if l am desperate or it has offers Grin told you l was a supermarket whore Grin

Mrsmadevans · 31/01/2020 16:24

Their nappies are said to be excellent quality too Smile

Thank you, mrs. I have heard good things about the nappies, I will have a look tomorrow when we do our shop.

Mrsmadevans · 31/01/2020 17:18

Forgot to say , DD2 house has been valued , mortgage agreed , all guns blazing now, interest rates didn't go down so mortgage rate is the same phew, l was dreading her having to look again to change the mortgage to get her a better rate Grin
Fanny that is brilliant ! Well done re the coat it sounds just the job Smile i am so glad you feel better you poor thing Flowers
I bought a skirt l eyed up for Mum for Christmas in Morrisons today , down to £8 from £14 , l have bought her so much for her birthday l will keep it for Mother's day l think although it would be lovely for her to wear for her party tomorrow , l think l have weakened and will give it her Smile
I am avoiding the news Hmm it is all about leaving the EU, they have even forgotten about the Coronavirus Hmm
Mumba l think you will be pleasantly surprised, they have lovely stuff in the middle aisles but if you want to save money don't go there ! Grin

I'm just going to bounce back in as I've been MIA for a few days.

Fluffy / flouncy I acquired DH when he was just 17 but my MIL and SIL did a great job on him for me. He was sent for san pro once - spent a minute staring at the pack in the bathroom and came back with exactly the right pack (and with ice cream for me too).
For bonus points MIL also had him doing his fair share around the house including pet care and laundry for a good few years before he met me so he was better at housekeeping than I was when we moved in together!

MrsMad I think it's great your DD is confident enough to take the leap and move out. Would be much worse if she was too frightened to try it!

Flouncy your cross stitches are amazing! How do you keep count on that fabric? I'm assuming it doesn't have the helpful holes like Aida?

I have a peaceful DH Free few hours later as he's watching the local rugby team play. I may do some crafting.
I've been MIA as I've been basically going to work, finishing early and going to bed. I've had headache after headache and this stupid allergic reaction ended up making my eyes swell up.
It's improving massively now and the pharmacist is happy but it's still sore, dry and itchy 😡

Mrsmadevans · 31/01/2020 17:30

Crazy glad you are on the mend m'dear 😀💐
Enjoy yourself tonight sans DH 🤗
Forgot to put pics on of skirt and toys 🙄😁

Congratulations to your DD, mrs, it’s all happening now!. I’ve just looked online and there are some things that they don’t have there, so I’m trying Morrison’s. I’ve just looked online and a big shop will only cost just under £80. £20 doesn’t sound much but it’s an extra £1040 left over at the end of the year that can go to Christmas.

I’m glad to hear you’re on the mend, crazy.

I acquired DH when he was 15, almost 16. But MIL and SIL made training him very hard. Not necessarily on sanpro, but once I went to their house for tea when we first got together and DH had made dinner the night before and still not washed up. MIL came home from work, shouted at him for not doing it and then washed up herself!. It’s safe to say he got a bollocking from me and he pulls his weight now.

Mrsmadevans · 31/01/2020 18:48

Fanny, l can't do much sewing my eyes won't let me they blurr and get really tired . I can't even see to thread the bloody needle . I have knit n nat tomorrow, l am booked to take a pr of trouser hems up for my friends Mum Grin , l am useless at sewing Grin but their eyesight is as bad as mine if not worse , so they can't see the stitching Grin
Mumba even a £20 saving is good m'dear that is a 20 % saving. I buy most own brand stuff and find Aldis stuff is excellent quality and value. If you do a meal plan l think that helps enormously too. When l worked l used to batch cook for the slow cooker . We would have a chilli, a bolognese sauce, cauliflower cheese with a gammon ham done in the slow cooker, sweet n sour chicken , beef or chicken stew with dumplings , they loved that Grin. I prepped it all in advance put it in the fridge freezer and bunged it is the slow cooker in the morning off to work and it would be ready for tea . l don't do it now Grin am up mum's all the time & just don't get motivation to do it now Hmm
