2019 Christmas bargains thread 1

Reastie · 18/08/2019 07:26

Jingle those bells because it’s time for thread 1!

The aim of this thread is to share ideas for Christmas bargains and present ideas and a little bit of Christmas chat etc. I’ll try my best to do a post with the most popular links, if there’s anything specific you’d like me to add or if something I’ve put up doesn’t work please let me know in bold . Thank you

As usual no affiliate links (I’m still not exactly sure what they are but consensus was not to have them) and if we have any sites to post personal sign up links we’ll do this on a separate thread so all can post their links, I’ll do this when —I get around to it— soon.

Thanks Reastie! I've been on here under various guises for the past few years & I've saved so much money. I'm here for birthday & celebration gift ideas rather than Christmas. I'm from a large family with different cultural backgrounds celebrating at various times of the year including Christmas. So I'm on the lookout to stock up on bargains right the way through the year.

LikeSilver · 18/08/2019 07:42

Yay thank you Reastie!

Last day of £5 off £25 today at Hena with ‘HAPPYBDAY’

PeonyRose80 · 18/08/2019 07:45

Rosesarere · 18/08/2019 07:56

Exciting can I join, I tried to catch up with the last thread x

IggyAce · 18/08/2019 07:57

Thanks Reastie, am watching and hoping for ideas and bargains for teen dd who has asked for labelled items, vans and Nike for the first time for her birthday next month. No doubt she will want more for Christmas.
Also need interesting ideas for my stamp collecting, model train enthusiast Grandad who never needs anything.

Thegirlhasnoname · 18/08/2019 07:59

Also placemarking. (We’re very nearly into the ‘ber’ months and I feel so behind!)

IndieTara · 18/08/2019 08:02

Placemarking. Christmas will be tight this year with me be on mat leave and this thread could be very helpful :)

Awrite · 18/08/2019 08:14

Woolovers - 25% off full price with TEMPT25 and 10% off sale items with TRIM10.

My dh loved the jumpers I got him a couple of years ago.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/08/2019 08:16

Will they ever repeat that jumper offer? It was amazing (my dad loves his too).

AnnaMariaDreams · 18/08/2019 08:19

Yay, thank you Reastie!

newroundhere · 18/08/2019 08:23

Thanks Reastie!

And thanks also to fluffy for the prequel thread, I already have some bargains Grin

BadgerFace · 18/08/2019 08:30

Thanks Reastie! I am mainly glad this year to not need to buy a Robert, or Robert’s accidentally even more massive sister like last year... Hiding things should be easier!

woodwaj · 18/08/2019 08:38

Hi all. Checking into thread 1. I've unusually done no shopping yet! Unfortunately split from DS dad so I'm house hunting and will be on a tight budget this year!

Redwinestillfine · 18/08/2019 08:43

Excellent, thank you. Hamley's has some good clearance toys.

BumpkinSpiceBatty · 18/08/2019 08:45

Thanks Reastie. Glad to get organised and start the stash!
I was at my local McArthur Glen outlet place today. They had lots of good bargains. Neon Sheep was great for stocking fillers and the monsoon outlet had lovely wool jumpers for £14l

Theimpossiblegirl · 18/08/2019 08:48

Woohoo let's go!

I found some discontinued shampoo and conditioner sets by Love Beauty & Planet which I'm going to put with some vegan chocs/treats for the newly vegan teens of the family. £1.88 instead of around £10 a bottle.
It's worth regularly checking the Boots clearance shelves this time of year.

scrappydappydoo · 18/08/2019 08:50

Placemarking - I’m on a strict budget this year with two teenage girls to buy for as well as lots of difficult to buy for older relatives...

Zillaindie · 18/08/2019 08:54

Delurking here!

I lurked throughout 2018 however was busy surviving the first year with twins.

This year I'm (reasonably) well rested and ready to start early.

Made a start already on small gifts thanks to the prequel thread.

Main big ticket item I'm looking out for are toy wooden workbench/kitchen/shop type for DTs main gift.

Wolfcub · 18/08/2019 08:56

Thank you for the thread Reastie

jagack · 18/08/2019 08:57

aliceelizaloves · 18/08/2019 09:02

Ooh I'll join. So many people to buy for and almost September! Definitely want to keep costs down this year.
