Anyone else got the twitch yet?

So I'm all done presents wise. I've spent a fortune even by my own standards - between the two kids they have consoles, £70 controllers, an iPhone, all the other bits and pieces so it's more than enough

And what do I find myself doing? Ordering several Crazy Aaron putty sets, a Switch game, a £60 cat print and a kindle fire HmmHmm

Anyone else?

I’m trying so hard not to twitch this morning, questioning if I have got dd2 enough as she doesn’t have a big gift like her sister. Must fight the twitch...

BatPie · 17/12/2018 09:48

I'm now going to fight the twitch

I've bought some Lindt Christmas chocolate bears and reindeers but they don't count surely?

I twitched on an lol hair goals doll at the weekend - delivered today. I got it from smyths and was free delivery. Dd2 has asked Santa for LOL dolls so I bought one of each type so she will have a few but no doubles 😁

However.... I was wrapping and had completely forgotten about a shit tonne of presents I bought on sale in the summer. The girls have an excessive amount of gifts but I know they will love all of it!! Fuck knows where we will put it all, it's probably going to take them days to unwrap it all 😂

LlamaShark · 17/12/2018 19:01

Yes! I'm so glad this is a 'thing'.

I was done, wrapped and ready. Then I got the twitch and have been buying thing on Amazon all weekend

BatPie · 17/12/2018 19:41

Yes it's all about twitching on Amazon now. I'm not braving the shops and at least amazon is more or less guaranteed delivery with Prime

All finished here but twitched last night and ordered DD a velvet weighted blanket (£149Blush)

BatPie · 17/12/2018 21:52

Oh don't! I quite fancy a velvet weighted blanket too actually

Thank you Cupo and Shoop...all ordered Xmas Blush

IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere · 17/12/2018 22:47

I read this thread last week and felt all snug and superior because I had everything on its way or already wrapped. Then I checked my Amazon orders and found I had messed up on two presents - one of them apparently does not exist on Amazon. I had no idea why I bought the thing I did but it certainly isn't wanted!

Then watching tv last night and daughter pointed out something that her sister would love and I bought it. I am hiding my debit card until I do my food shop now.

Isadora2007 · 18/12/2018 01:35

Help!! I really would love to buy dd(9) the Harry Potter coding wand. As we are going to London for a wee trip and it could be our way of telling her we will go to the HP experience place. But then I felt bad for ds(6) so thought maybe we could get him a voucher to go to the new Spurs stadium and buy something. The tour for him and dh would be £45...
they don’t need anything more... would I be mad to buy these too???

stabbybitch · 18/12/2018 07:06

I twitched again & brought dd a new lunch box and hotel Transylvania box set and thanks to this thread a bloody hair goals lol Grin

lostlalaloopsy · 18/12/2018 08:15

Well the twitch got me and I now have an Lol Doll House in the boot of my car 🙈🙈🙈 in my defence it's for my youngest who always gets hand me downs!! I can't wait to see her face next week!

Alwaysgreener · 18/12/2018 08:36

Jessica78 me too arghhhh! If I hadn't googled it, I'd have been fine grr! Would it be wrong to buy one for myself as I have two DC and it wouldn't be fair to just buy one?!!! 🙈

Jessica78 · 18/12/2018 08:51

Alwaysgreener... If it makes it even worse I was thinking of putting it in the stocking with a bag of chocolate gold coins underneath it... Obviously they both need one (as do you) Xmas Grin

1stTimeMama · 18/12/2018 09:55

I think I need a Pickett and a Niffler!

And a drone that my son asked Father Christmas for yesterday, that he's not mention as before!

And, and, and .......

KiteMarked · 18/12/2018 11:29

This thread is dangerous - I should never have opened it!

-gemstones and 2 books for identifying them
-bonsai tree
-professional facepaint starter kit
-tool box

LittleLlamaontheduskyroad · 18/12/2018 17:22

I keep seeing things, but I've managed to resist so far. Helps that DDs birthdays aren't too long after Christmas so I keep telling myself I can get the things for their birthdays!

BatPie · 18/12/2018 19:18

Twitched yet again. Too bloody embarrassed to say how much I spent though as it's quite frankly ridiculous now.

My Voldemort wand came. Well, not mine - my DSs. It's actually really nice quality

Bumbumtaloo · 18/12/2018 19:30

I got a keg of Strongbow for my mum they’re only £5 in Morrisons at the moment. That’s definitely it now....

Didiusfalco · 18/12/2018 19:41

@BatPie, please tell. It might make me feel better about my ridiculous spending to know I'm not the only one with no self control!

BatPie · 18/12/2018 19:45

Hmm. Will it?!

I have bought a Fitbit for my DD and some print thing she loves. £120! This is seriously out of hand

I usually go mad at Christmas but to the time of about £300 or maybe a little more. I've got to say this has been about £600 per child which is unusual for me

But, thinking about it, a Nintendo switch, a pro controller, a game and a carry case came to £460. I mean - that's mad isn't it? 4 small ish boxes!

And now I've realised my maths is wrong and it's far far more than £600 per child 😂😂😂

Didiusfalco · 18/12/2018 21:27

Well in the spirit of fair play BatPie I started adding up my total present spend and it came to over £1k at which point I stopped adding it up as was feeling slightly Envy I don’t even feel like we’re giving massively extravagant gifts just a combination of one dc asking for an expensive item and lots close relatives.

BatPie · 18/12/2018 21:35

@Didiusfalco this is it exactly. How nearly £500 of 'normal' gifts to give can look like not much at all.

Oh well - it's only once a year and I start in September

Girlicorne · 18/12/2018 22:08

@Batpie are you the lady in Australia on the other thread? Grin Wink

BatPie · 18/12/2018 22:09

I'm definitely not in Australia (getting into bed here at 22.09!) but I need to know more now of course Grin
