So I'm all done presents wise. I've spent a fortune even by my own standards - between the two kids they have consoles, £70 controllers, an iPhone, all the other bits and pieces so it's more than enough

And what do I find myself doing? Ordering several Crazy Aaron putty sets, a Switch game, a £60 cat print and a kindle fire HmmHmm

Anyone else?

I want to get a toy for my 1 year old even though I absolutely know he doesn't need one and won't care. I've got him a few bits he needs. He'll get toys from other people. Mostly I'm thinking that my 3 year old might question why santa didn't bring him a toy.

SymphonyofShadows · 11/12/2018 15:51

I’m not twitching on gifts, but decorations. I don’t need any more but I keep seeing things I like. I’m going to wait till the M&S half price promotion and get a few.

bumblebee39 · 11/12/2018 15:56

What's the twitch? Xx

shouldwestayorshouldwego · 11/12/2018 16:10

Marshmallows are good for filling up stockings. Nifflers are providing to be tricky in terms of the twitch!

Fortythreeandfatasfuck · 11/12/2018 16:20

Yes I have twitched 4 times already.... latest twitch just earlier today so ds has an extra super Mario board game, a fingerling, a itop spinner and a book..... THAT IS IT THOUGH!!

Merrychristmasyoufilthyanimals · 11/12/2018 16:21

shecamefromgreece · 11/12/2018 16:28

Nope.
But only because I haven't bought any presents yetBlush

ALemonyPea · 11/12/2018 16:29

So I didn't buy a niffler, but while sitting in the car waiting for the dc, I managed to buy a cat stealing money box and a projecting alarm clock.

cloudtree · 11/12/2018 16:33

I've twitched and bought heated throws for the DC to bulk out the pile and make it look bigger plus to stop them stealing mine

Bumbumtaloo · 11/12/2018 16:34

Does it count id it’s on the food shop not presents?

I have changed my food order so many times. My bloody inbox has countless email confirmations and I have up until 23.59 on the 20th.

I have have had chocolate Father Christmases in and out of my trolly so many times I don’t even know weather I’m ordering them or not. I’m too scared to check....

Lovemusic33 · 11/12/2018 16:39

BumBum I twitch on my food order every day (just been on there again), though I have now used my club card vouchers to bring the price down. I have just written down everything that’s on my food order to stop me going back to check.

I’ve got a the twitch, but it’s a weird one this year. We are going to the US for Christmas and while I’ve bought the main presents here I’m planning on getting small bits and stocking things there. I’m going to be hitting Target and a few other places for most of it as soon as we get there, which I’m looking forward to more than is probably healthy and sane. I’m trying to ease the twitch by trawling the websites of the shops I’m going to, but I think it’s probably making it worse.

Oysterbabe · 11/12/2018 16:48

Oh I keep twitching on my food order. It doesn't help that my DH cannot bring himself to offer any kind of opinion even though it's his parents I'm cooking for.
How many pigs in blankets do we need for 4 adults and 2 toddlers?! He just doesn't give a fuck.
I've changed it about 10 times.

caperplips · 11/12/2018 16:51

So as a result of reading this thread I majorly twitched and have bought a bunch of stuff on Hawkins Bazaar including a pre-filled stocking for dd AND a load of slime making stuff.....

Need. To. Stop.

Deadringer · 11/12/2018 16:57

I am not twitchy yet, unusually for me I have all the DC stuff bought, I am adding Pringles and sweets to the stockings to pad them out. I have warned the older ones that there will be no tat this year, the pile/stocking might look small but I have spent the same more than every other year. Any time I feel a twitch I take a look at the very long list of stuff that I have bought, that usually sorts it out.

Flashingbeacon · 11/12/2018 17:01

Omg @Merrychristmasyoufilthyanimals thanks for that link. Nearest store is 35 miles away. Either I’m driving there or doing a £40 order for free delivery.

Bumbumtaloo · 11/12/2018 17:02

Glad I’m not the only one with the food! I have £75 of vouchers to add to my shopping but I’m not allowing myself to do it until next week.

poorbuthappy · 11/12/2018 17:04

The cat stealing money box is brilliant and was a great hit last year!
No twitch here, only because I've only just started today...literally....and I am logging everything I buy on excel so make sure I don't go over budget.
That'll stop my twitching when I realise how much I've spent!

HollySwift · 11/12/2018 17:07

Where are you all getting nifflers?!!

EvaHarknessRose · 11/12/2018 17:08

Yeah, sitting on my hands. Have done great with their presents but few surprises. I am not going to cave.

NigelGresley · 11/12/2018 17:09

We need to quit with these massive piles of unnecessary pointless things and stuff for the sake of stuff!

BatPie · 11/12/2018 17:22

@NigelGresley good job we have you around to bring us all back down to earth

@bumblebee39 the twitch is when you have completed your Xmas shopping and suddenly feel an overwhelming urge to buy more

OP posts:
bumblebee39 · 11/12/2018 17:26

@BatPie I think I'm having a permanent twitch in life let alone at Xmas
The new baby one is the worst!

BatPie · 11/12/2018 17:27

@bumblebee39 ha ha. You win at twitching!
