Anyone else got the twitch yet?

So I'm all done presents wise. I've spent a fortune even by my own standards - between the two kids they have consoles, £70 controllers, an iPhone, all the other bits and pieces so it's more than enough

And what do I find myself doing? Ordering several Crazy Aaron putty sets, a Switch game, a £60 cat print and a kindle fire HmmHmm

Anyone else?

Fighting the twitch today. Last minute panic, just looked at the presents under my bed and doesn’t look much. I have 2 dd’s age 11 and 14, I know they will be happy with what I have bought but dd2 has ASD and just loves opening presents, this year there’s probably half of what I usually buy despite spending more money. There’s nothing else I can think of getting, I need to stop worrying don’t I? All will be fine, I don’t want piles of tat in the house. Must not twitch.

I've found the bedt way to prevent the twitch is to not even start thinking about Christmas shopping till mid November, finish about now (easy enough as the shops are so much quieter with so many doing online). Finished my planned present buying yesterday so hopefully I can't twitch much in the remaining couple of days. The worst year was when I started shopping in September, never doing that again.

Does anyone else switch gifts around I.e buy a gift for someone then when wrapping it decide to give it to someone else. I think I’ve done this with about every gift today woops

I do a different version of switching. I buy DS's Santa gifts, have just the right but still very generous amount. Inevitably I twitch. Then I asses what he has, pick something to remove from the Santa pile and wait for a relative to ask me what to get DS. Then I simply say, "I've got the perfect thing for you to give him in my attic." So far both grandparent and all 3 uncle gifts for DS are coming from the attic stash!

I keep twitching for DH. DD has everything her little heart could desire and more but a big order of DH's stuff has been delayed (thanks, AusPost! Nice work!) and so it's pretty unlikely he'll have more than two or three small things to open on Christmas day.
Today was $65 of lego, a $10 tshirt, and an XBox game.
Someone fucking stop me, his presents will get here and he'll be pleased with his 'extended Christmas'

I twitched today and Just reserved a Yamaha keyboard for my daughter because her pile looks tiny.
Think it's because it's her first year of having "grown up gifts".

A load of dd's presents have not been delivered and won't arrive until after xmas and I am raging.

Tonight dh and I will look at her stash and assess if we need to add to it or not. She is out later so we can lay it out to see how it's looking...

She will then get a load of other random stuff in Jan when it finally comes.....pain in the arse... but what can we do!

toomanygreys I think that is our problem too!
More money than ever spent but because they are not toys it looks small

Lovemusic33 maybe just get some small things, and wrap everything individually? My ASD ds loves those 4 colours in 1 pens (they cost like 99p at home bargains) so I got a fistful and wrapped each one individually. :) He'll enjoy opening each one, they are useful to him, and I didn't spend loads. Win-win-win!

I had a massive twitch the other night and bought a Hatchimal Hatchibaby. DS really wants one and I said I wouldn't so I'm hoping this keeps the FC magic alive a bit longer - he is growing up too quickly. In my defence it was £22.99 on Amazon which is the cheapest I've seen it. However he already has a stack of presents that have been accumulating in the cupboard for ages - whoever said don't start too early is very sensible!

Omg

So I twitched about my older DC having less than younger DC and now I'm worried it's the other way around??

Either way I've twitched my way through £300 extra than I intended on spending...

Yep. I'm actually awake because of it.DD 4 has from us
-roller skates and protective pads
-a sticker book
-a book about the forest

There are also 3 other presents from friends and my parents for her under the tree. Look like books or clothes. My parents in laws will get her something and my brother in law will add to a toy she already has.

I know in my mind this is enough. 7 parcels on the day. That's loads for a 4 year old. But when I told DH what she had from us he said - really? You didn't get more? I've not done a stocking. Maybe I will do her a stocking but it's not a thing here where we are. Gah. I'm going to spend Monday morning panic purchasing. There are things I know she would like, an Elsa clip on hair plait which I just find ridiculous.

I’ve just ordered -
A book each for my parents
Dh some emoji golf balls (why, why?!)
Ds a football book and a rugby ball
My mother some relaxing pillow mist spray
My dad a jigsaw

Stop me now. Stop me.

At a grotto yesterday and dd asked for 'a teddy unicorn'. That's a new one says I 'oh ho ho, you always need to be prepared for last minutes' winks Father Christmas. 5 minutes later walking round a zoo DH says 'what the bloody hell are you on Amazon for right now?' Ordering a bloody unicorn of course!

I twitched yesterday - having already bought DH 4 main presents I went out and got him an Apple Watch. Then went on to get DD2 another £70 worth of stuff from Victoria secret to make it even with her sisters. Now I'm worrying about DD3 - has she got enough? Is she going to like her presents. Just need to fucking stop now before I bankrupt us all.
Im now twitching about the food and whether I need to go out but more Brussels sprouts etc.

I bought a tresemme travel hairdryer... For a two year old boy Grin Predicting that to be the hands down stand out Christmas gift winner this year.

And a kids karaoke machine that i will regret once we've done "it was in a starry night" eight thousand times by boxing day but he will LOVE it!

Just bought DH a book he mentioned today Hmm. And then realised I've now bought him 4 books and nothing more exciting so ordered a shower speaker on a whim. Can't decide if I was a genius twitch or too random. I can always use it if he doesn't appreciate it. Only about an hour left and I'm panicking.
