Anyone else got the twitch yet?

So I'm all done presents wise. I've spent a fortune even by my own standards - between the two kids they have consoles, £70 controllers, an iPhone, all the other bits and pieces so it's more than enough

And what do I find myself doing? Ordering several Crazy Aaron putty sets, a Switch game, a £60 cat print and a kindle fire HmmHmm

Anyone else?

I have the twitch so bad Blush
If I hadn’t twitched I wouldn’t have got the best thing ever- a plastic goldfish in clear soap in a bag- to look like when you win a goldfish at the fair- from Tesco. It’s great and I know DS will love it when he pulls it out of his stocking.

I have brought gifts

I have yet to 'compare piles'

This is where things go down hill even though technically I've paid roughly the same amount for each child...... I'll pop back

Ok. Thanks everyone I have been on Hawkins bazaar and twitched away. One more trip for food and then I’m cutting up the cards.

Yup. I’ve wrapped DS’s Santa presents tonight and his pile looks tiny! That’s because he’s getting a MacBook from us so we’ve spent a fricking fortune... I’ve twitched on a deathly hallows necklace and a ‘my patronising is a tortoise’ t shirt 😂 so far this evening.

Had resisted twitching until tonight when Dd came home with a Christmas list written at school with 5 different things on it that she’d never mentioned before! They’d been given toy catalogues at school to ‘help’ them write their lists, on 11th December! Way too late imo.
Twitching over these things now of course

I can’t twitch, I have only just started shopping!
Love all these people who are so organised they have everything finished and wrapped in October “so I’m don’t and don’t have to think about shopping in December” and who are now twitching Grin
I purposely don’t shop until now because I’m crap at buying presents for people and the less time I have to agonise over what great aunty Mary might like, the better. All done on an impulse buy. Also, I hate shopping!!

I think I might- already commented to the teacher- really could have done with them doing this earlier if at all!

I am having a crisis, DD had said start of december she wanted clothes, a 2DS XL and new trainers, all bought and wrapped, she has done her santa letter and it has a fucking segway/hoverboard on it. What do I doooooo?1

Report
cloudtree · 12/12/2018 12:43

where would she use the hoverboard. Does she know its illegal to use anywhere but private property?

Report
BatPie · 12/12/2018 12:45

Well @BlooperReel I can only say what I would do!! If funds permitted it then I'd buy it and add it to the pile but I'm soft like that and I go all out at Christmas. I spend £75 for birthdays and about £700 at Christmas - but I start nice and early to try and avoid hideous shocks

The hover boards are expensive so it's whether your budget allows it I suppose

cloudtree in the garden. She has been after one for years but didnt ask last year so i thought it was a fad that was over, it has reared it head again now, 12 days before bloody christmas

Report
BatPie · 12/12/2018 12:45

And that's a good point about the hover board. So so limited where you can use them so you'd have to have a nice big house , large suitable garden or access to some close by private space to use

DH and I are mulling it over, we have a big garden so space to use it isn't an issue, its just a big expense when i am not sure it wouldn't be more than a passing phase.

So badly! I work in central London so all the shops are still open when I finish work...and it is dangerous for twitching!

Argh! I am trying so hard not to twitch but looking at my DDs present pile, it doesn’t look enough. She’s in her 20s so the presents cost more but seem tiny.

Any ideas for a large but not expensive present for a 22 yo girl?

OH and I reviewed the DC's gifts last night and agreed that they have more than enough. So I went to bed and ordered a Maths game, a board game and today I've bought one DC some pants and both a tube of sweets each!! I do need to stop. It's ridiculous.

Titsywoo · 12/12/2018 16:06

I twitched and bought a set of smartphones lenses for DS but now they have an even amount of gifts I am done!

KiteMarked · 12/12/2018 16:08

Re the hoverboards, we saw them everywhere 2 years ago on the afternoon of Christmas day, and not a dickie-bird since. Waste of money, imo!

Want what about a big fluffy blanket, or a fluffy onesie, or massive animal feet slippers? A joke gift of successively smaller boxes inside a massive box with a tiny present inside?

oh god I have been twitching for a week now! I was dead organised, everything bought, wrapped and everything but Santa presents under the tree then I twitched as DD 6 only has 5 presents off us to open (she had her main present off us earlier in the year) so now I have bought about 6 more things and Tesco just reduced the UniKitty lego she wanted so now I am twitching even more!!!

alwaysthepessimist · 12/12/2018 16:35

That happened at our school about 2 years ago #Alakazam7 - we all went mad (in a nice way) to school - they have never done it again....
