Anyone else got the twitch yet?

So I'm all done presents wise. I've spent a fortune even by my own standards - between the two kids they have consoles, £70 controllers, an iPhone, all the other bits and pieces so it's more than enough

And what do I find myself doing? Ordering several Crazy Aaron putty sets, a Switch game, a £60 cat print and a kindle fire HmmHmm

Anyone else?

I’ve twitches on a few Fortnite toys.

Though is it technically a twitch since they only came out about a week ago so I couldn’t but them sooner?

It’s probably a twitch since they weren’t on my list and I was FINISHED. .Xmas Blush

@Bumbumtaloo, I'm the same. I've £90 of Nectar points to use, but can't bear to see my balance drop to below £5, so i'm holding off until the night before it's delivered before using them! Xmas Grin

I have so far twitched on:

Build a Bear x 2 (The Snowman for DS as he mentioned months' ago that he wanted one to go with his Snowdog, and he can't have one without DD getting one, so she has a woolly mammoth!);
Matching Hey Duggee pyjamas for all of us;
Batman pyjamas for DS and Peter Rabbit for DD; and
The Greatest Showman blu ray for DD and a Paddington DVD for DS.

Other than that no, no twitching! 🙈😂

I bought a book for £4 for dd. I think that's ok twitch. Other than that I have been rather good. There are two things I would like to get for dc but they are expensive. Both should sell considerably lower that I would get them.

I was about to start a thread about the "twitch" until I saw this.

My present shopping is complete and wrapped. No one needs anything else. I do not need to get anyone anything extra.

But........ Hmm

Yes. Ds has 2 fewer presents in his stocking than dd. And he will definitely notice!

Report
Funnyface1 · 11/12/2018 18:01

Is there anything we can do about the twitch? It happens to me every year. Although it was dh last night who said ds's pile didn't look big enough.

I don't have time this week but I think I'll definitely end up buying more next week unless someone knows of a way to stop me! Bloody love Christmas.

Ooh thanks @BatPie, I was browsing room lamps/night lights for ages easier and couldn't find anything quite right. Gummy bear one sounds like it might fit the bill perfectly. She has a Yumbox panino already, but I was thinking of getting a more testimonials shaped bento box... I've got her chopsticks for her stocking. Most Benton boxes have crap reviews though. I picked up some fluffy slipper boots from Primark just before for £4! She's been asking for some but I said no because she has asked for some previous years and not worn them. She claims they didn't fit properly Hmm, but £4 is cheap enough to bulk out the pile.

I had a twitch today in the lego shop, DH and I were filling pick and mix pots for DS for a solid 20 mins today. Then another twitch in Smyths and now DSS has got a load of fortnite figures.

I literally do it every year, smugly announce I'm done and then just keep buying 😣

OvO · 11/12/2018 18:56

Batpie, there’s figures, a plushie llama and some other stuff. Not a huge range.

Amazon is sold out but Argos and Smyths still have some. People are buying all the stock and sellin it for £££ on eBay!

MincePieMum · 11/12/2018 19:10

I've finished. DH has only now just updated his wish list on Amazon. I'm twitching.

DS has 19presents plus stocking fillers. I'm still wrapping, but I'm done buying. But now I know of 2 more presents that he really really wants. £55 total. Twitching.

MIL only has 4 gifts. Twitching.

DM only 3 gifts. still twitching Xmas Grin

Oooh I've found my people.
Because I started shopping so early, I bought everything I wanted to get for dd in about October.
Well I've been a nightmare, Poor DH. I've bought her 1 more switch Games, bath bombs, toiletries, a whole new outfit, all on the twitch.
Then after declaring I was done, i decided Xmas would be ruined if I didn't order Mario party with the funky coloured joycons. So I had to order it. 🤔🤔

Can anyone tell me, is the Crazy Aaron kitcin a big box? My son’s pile is so much bigger than my daughter’s so I’m looking for things that will bulk up her pile. I’ve never heard of Crazy Aaron. I am seriously twitchy!!!

I haven't Twitched because I haven't finished buying yet Xmas Grin so technically anything is still a 'on the list' gift . ( I can get away with that , yes? )

I am giving DD a Beauty Advent Calender that I have made (did one last year and she loved it)
The trouble is , I realised it was going to be ££ because trying to find new things that she'd like wasn't easy .
So I told her these would form part of her Christmas presents , she agreed.
I might Twitch with DD presents Xmas Blush

Report
BatPie · 11/12/2018 21:18

@LyraBelaqua no. Crazy Aaron is a range of 'thinking putties'

They're in small tins - or bigger tins- and kids absolutely love them. Better than slime as they have a firmer consistency and they come in fun shades and textures. I have bought the three Christmas mini tins, a large lava tin and also the kit where you can make 5 small tins of your own

So the kit looks like a larger gift but the tins are small

I wish I was twitching. I’m nowhere near done and have run out of ideas completely. My kids just aren’t asking for stuff and I’m so unimaginative I have no idea what to buy for them, between us we are a nightmare! (Except for my 8 year old, who wants lots of large, plastic stuff, that we either already have, or won’t actually fit anywhere -she set her heart on a gigantic life size teddy in the toy shop on Saturday, her room is no bigger than 6 foot square, barely room for a bed and bookshelf, so absolutely no room for a massive teddy!)

I’m nowhere near the twitch yet...need to actually feel that I’ve finished shopping first! It’s nit going well this year.

Another one twitching here. We collected a friend of DDs at the airport over the weekend and I found myself looking at DD’s bag and thinking “I could buy her friend one of those things to hang off her bag” Hmm

Luckily my sensible side to told the rest of my brain STFU and avert my eyes.
