I believe it's day 190

HOW did we get past the 200 mark so fast? And only 12 Days until Christmas in July starts, for anyone who celebrates that.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/06/2018 13:14

Goodness, Internal, I'm glad he's OK!

I've been making DD's sponge for the cake this morning. She requested 4 colours for it! I'm now in town waiting for DH to collect me and DS with her balloons, banner and badge! But much to go on the train with them!

Once home it's finish cake time. Then collect DD from school. Not had lunch yet, no time for such things!

Oh, picked loads more strawberries today. Took almost an hour. Crazy!

Mrsmadevans · 22/06/2018 19:58

Welcome back Internal, l so hope your DH is much better my dear, poor man , you must have been so worried about him bless you all Flowers
Fluffy is there no end to the strawbs , they are not really Triffids and disguising themselves as strawbs and taking over your garden are they Grin you have green fingers my dear and no denying it , well done ! Hope you have a fab birthday with your DD , ahh it's lovely takes me back to when mine were little Cake Star make a wish.
Had a very busy day , did my parents shopping and went up to them, took one look at my poor Mum's legs , they were just awful she has varicose eczema normally and today she had the most awful red swollen legs . I knew it was cellulitis straight away ,called the DR and got her seen asap. She has antibiotics, steroid cream, Dermol cream and has to see the DR next Thursday . She didn't want to go but when l took her and the DR did all this, she was really glad she went. Came home at half 2 after being on the go with her since 9 am !
Still, she will get better very quickly now l am sure , it is like role reversal now , l am the parent, they are the children. They behave far worse than l ever knew how to lol Grin
So came home, finished the DD2 washing for her to go to UNI and then helped her do her exam prep . I was the examiner Grin
She didn't like the examiner today ! I was useless Grin she is waiting for her DS to help her tomoz now . I only said did she need to learn how to do the resusitation on a doll for the exam and if she did then she should have a trial run. Anyway she asked the other girls on their FB and they don't have to , Thank God.
So that was my day , no walk either , never mind should be plainer sailing tomoz !
Have a lovely evening all, beautiful ,beautiful , sky out tonight Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 22/06/2018 20:28

Ah, Mrs, there's always something for your poor parents. It's lucky they have you to look out for them!

DD's cake is almost done. Made, built and iced / decorated, just need to make a number 5 Numberblock (CBeebies' programme character) for the top of it tomorrow (it won't fit in the box with it on tonight!).

I'm not sure what's going on with the fruit and veg really; it's bonkers. We saw our neighbour today. She left a massive courgette in the porch. We have her 2 jars of strawberry jam and 1 chilli jam. She's going to water our plants for us while we're away in July too. They're good neighbours! 😊

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 22/06/2018 20:45

Hello! Picked DS2 up, DD came back at 4, had pulled pork burritos for supper, DS2 went to bed at 7, DD's just asked to go to bed! 😋😴😂

Mrsmadevans · 22/06/2018 23:01

I know Fluffy. it has been a bad time of it lately for them. Thank God Dad is nearly back to normal , Mum will be ok in a few days , the legs are terrible mind, poor thing she said they are burning tonight. I did feel bad for her they are horrendous , l will take a pic tomoz to show you all l bet you won't believe how bad they are .
Your NDN obviously has the Triffids disguising themselves as Courgettes in her garden .Fluffy the NDN sounds lovely, am so glad they are, it makes life so much easier and happier.
Have a great time tomoz with the DD birthday too Smile
PSB your DD must be so tired from the trip bless her Smile bet you are glad to have her home

Have a lovely day everyone Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 23/06/2018 08:37

Morning! I'm just waiting for some fondant to harden slightly in the fridge so I can cut it into cubes without it going floppy on me! The joys of making your own birthday cakes!

DD and DS are playing with the big pug and the already-here big penguin, and seem happy enough! Though they do keep arguing with each other! Standard really.

Redgreencoverplant · 23/06/2018 09:46

What a beautiful morning! We have bought DS new shoes and are now heading to the Wetlands before it gets too hot. Paddling pool this afternoon I think.

Glad your mum has some treatment now Mrs :) Good luck with the cake Fluffy!

WheelyCote · 23/06/2018 10:45

Morning everyoneSmile

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 23/06/2018 17:28

DS2's having a nap, so we'll have supper at 6ish. 😆

NoWordForFluffy · 23/06/2018 17:31

If mine napped at that time I'd never get them to bed!

We've had a fun day and eaten too much cake, but I think DD has enjoyed turning 5. 😁

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 23/06/2018 17:35

It's becoming quite regular at the weekend, we'll just have supper and his bedtime an hour later. 😆

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 23/06/2018 18:16

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 23/06/2018 19:53

DS2 will go to bed at 8.30. 😴

FireflyGirl · 23/06/2018 19:53

Glad to hear your Dad is improving, MrsM. Your poor Mum, though. It's a good thing you caught that!

I haven't been posting as I can't seem to remember to reply to everyone, but I've decided to just post anyway and hope noone thinks I'm snubbing them! Plus, I've just started another new job Blush I only did 6 weeks at the last one, then was offered a job nearer to home, with better prospects on better money!

redgreen I got DS this play Post Office last year for about £12, and he loves it. He uses it as a shop as well. It folds really small, so we've taken it away with us a few times. Might be worth setting up a camelcamelcamel alert.

I've spent the evening Pinning Christmas decorations. For some reason I always start seriously thinking about Christmas around this time. I marked myself as 'interested' on a Christmas market on Facebook and a friend of mine commented 'You're keen!' Hah, if only you knew... Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 23/06/2018 20:08

Firefly, I spent 5 weeks in my last job. It was hideous. I hated it and the firm! I started looking for a new job on my second Tuesday there and resigned after 4 weeks. 🙈😂

I've been in this job 8 months and it's way better than the last one. I've been approached to apply for a team leader job, but in RTA, which I'm not sure about really. I need to think about what I want to do, as I do like fee-earning.

Is your new job the property one you mentioned? Good luck with it!

Apparently Manchester Christmas market starts in early November this year. We don't go since having kids as it's always rammed. Would be too easy to lose one of them.

FireflyGirl · 23/06/2018 20:22

It is, Fluffy, well remembered Grin. I've only done 3 days so far and I've got a lot to learn but it seems really interesting. And a lot more stable than PI... Would the team leader job mean stepping away from fee earning completely? I was head of department in my last few roles but I still did fee earning work on top of management. I wouldn't have wanted to just do management/admin, either.

I'd love to take DS to a Christmas market, but it hasn't been the right time the last few years. The ones near us don't tend to start until evening, and if he's not in bed by 6.30 he turns into a devil-child 😈. Think I might take him on one of my days off this year, mid-week so hopefully less busy, and see how it goes.
