I believe it's day 190

HOW did we get past the 200 mark so fast? And only 12 Days until Christmas in July starts, for anyone who celebrates that.

I got DS the Duplo Batcave last year (he was 3.5) and he plays with it SO much! He does all the voices and everything; it's too funny!

He does play with the doctor's kit, but not as much as Lego and Duplo. He got wooden food to cut up the year before and does still play with that.

They both love Imaginext stuff too.

Redgreencoverplant · 19/06/2018 11:21

Ooh haven't heard of Imaginext will take a look thanks Fluffy Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 19/06/2018 13:40

I got the castle in the Argos sake last summer (thanks to @FireflyGirl) and it's loved by both kids (it's technically DS').

NoWordForFluffy · 19/06/2018 13:40

Sale, even.

Mrsmadevans · 19/06/2018 19:09

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 19/06/2018 19:32

Picked DS2 up, bought him and DD books at the book fair, had chicken and mushroom risotto for supper, DS2's going to bed now! 📚😋🍗🍄😴

NoWordForFluffy · 19/06/2018 19:56

Great news re your dad, Mrs!

It's lovely and sunny here still. Everything is thriving in the garden, especially the bloody tomatoes which are continuing their world domination project! We've loads of chillies on the way too, so more jam in our near future. 😁

Mrsmadevans · 19/06/2018 20:02

Ahh thank you Fluffy , it is such a relief Smile
I think you must have green fingers Fluffy , it doesn't seem 2 mins since you were planting the chillies , well done m'dear Star

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 19/06/2018 20:28

Did wash while DS2 was watching TV before bed, hung it out and made his packed supper once he was in bed. 👔😋🍰

Mrsmadevans · 19/06/2018 20:43

PSB..... I managed 2 lines of washing and drying today, you would have been proud of me Star

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 19/06/2018 20:55

I wish I could do that, our garden's too shady. I'm Envy.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/06/2018 20:57

We get loads dry in our garden as it's bright and we have the coastal breeze!

SundayLunchHappy · 19/06/2018 22:27

Crumbs, must pay more attention to keep up with Christmassy fun.

So as the bearer of one of the thread babies Grin any suggestions for first Christmas present? Dh and I are thinking naice wooden toy box that he can keep all the enviable tat our family will buy for him in.

If anyone comes across a bonkers tartan ensemble I could put a 9 month old in on Christmas Day so let me know, eBay isn’t coming up with the goods yet.

Three loads of washing, coffee cake, oldies lunch club flower arrangements and baby group today. Ds is 12 weeks, I feel like I’ve rejoined civilisation!

How bonkers Sunday? Grin

There are some brilliant tartan dungarees/rompers on Etsy but they are mainstream rather than bonkers. My search brings up a seller called LiliJune and her stuff is lovely - I really like the romper & bootees set.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/06/2018 06:48

Morning!

I don't think we bought anything overly special for their first Christmas. It's a struggle to recall, to be honest! 😂

My parents got them a Steiff bear each. But that's it.

A naice box is a good plan, definitely.

Bit breezy here overnight and grey / spitting in the wind now. Think it's meant to brighten up though.

Shame I'm not still in Glasgow, I'm sure I could've found you something in one of the tourist tat shops there, Sunday!

Redgreencoverplant · 20/06/2018 08:20

DS is only two and I am struggling to remember what he got for his first Christmas! We got him Brio train track I believe which he still likes. Mega blocks are probably a good bet too.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/06/2018 08:24

Our train track comes out quite often actually! They both love it.

Megabloks were in the house until last Christmas when we upgraded to Lego and Duplo.

BiddyPop · 20/06/2018 09:15

We got a copy of “‘Twas the Night before Christmas” as bedtime story on 24th and it has been read every single Christmas Eve since! (DD is now 12).

Nice box, a good classics book (like Beatrix Potter collection or similar?), and maybe a good developmental toy that you might twitch at spending money on if not for Christmas - a nic walker, good blocks set...

Or something to add to in future - duplo, dolls house, kitchen, train set etc? So more blocks, furniture, crockery/food, more track/trains/buildings....

Sorry, that was for Sunday.

Am sitting at motorway services with coffee, on way to a presentation down the country. Hopefully a quiet and short day - I’m aiming to get home and work there for the afternoon.

Miserable start though - drizzle and cold. But forecasters optimistic for the weekend, and saying next week hit and sunny (potential conditions for heatwave were mentioned by the actual met office girl this morning)!

Morning! I've just had super scrambled egg and a banana. 😋🍌

Redgreencoverplant · 20/06/2018 10:47

We are at Tiny Tots and DS did a wee on the loo! So now he is having a chocolate coin in the cafe Smile

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 20/06/2018 10:48

I have a crap memory Sunday, DS or DD?

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 20/06/2018 10:50

A kilt?

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 20/06/2018 14:49

DS2's going to Adventure after school today, they pick him up from school, so I can slob about on here and Pinterest for a while.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 20/06/2018 14:56

What would you put in a non girly girl's 1st period gift box? I want to put in things that celebrate her growing up, but nail polish and girls' magazines just wouldn't appeal to her.
