I'm officially on a diet - but I've gone back up the past week not down (meh, I can't diet to save my soul - I was trying to eat healthily again, but I am sick at the mo so eating what I feel like). I've only had 1 mince pie though - a naice deli one, but it was bland and boring. I actually would prefer the M&S ones in the gold box (I haven't seen those this year though). I am waiting until my own batch "matures" sufficiently to make some (and I have a 4 year old jar to use - but I am keeping that until Christmas itself).

DD did almost all her wrapping yesterday afternoon (she needed something to "do" after an upset in school) and actually managed to get parcels that are held together and all labelled clearly - and only 1 that she realized afterwards she'd left the price tag on! (For her cousin the same age as herself so not the worst). She still has about 3 to buy, we think - we need to do a list and check it.

I also wrapped for 1 family last night, in the hope that I can transport them over the weekend. It may not work out, but I will be ready for the possibility. And I brought DD's advent calendar home with me as I drove, and the bag of books but I couldn't bring that in after she was asleep as DH was still up and there's 1 for him in the bag too and he'd want to look.

I went to pilates on Monday night, slight mistake as I was utterly floored by it, but still good for me. And I am taking it much easier at work to get myself well. But I need to keep doing that for a few weeks.

Flowers Happy belated birthday CBeebies Blush

It's lovely to see all the plans starting to fall into place!!

Everyone’s either up late this morning or was in bed early last night!! 🎄🎄🎅🏻

WreckTangled · 16/11/2017 06:57

I will never, ever be the one to countdown because I’m always in bed early Grin last working day of the week today so pleased.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/11/2017 07:06

In bed early and only just sat down after the cross trainer and my shower!

Morning! 🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻

FridgeCut · 16/11/2017 07:30

Gabriel has stopped sleeping so I was in bed early. I was up at 12.30 discussing where the car might be in a dark Nursery... dh forgot to plug in his phone so hasn’t gone into the office and we all slept till 7. Bliss!!

I have my annual Christmas shopping trip to the Cotswolds on Saturday, can’t wait! I get an entire day off!

WreckTangled · 16/11/2017 07:36

The dc have just put the polar express on Grin

HairsprayBabe · 16/11/2017 08:20

I always go to bed early, in my defence I am up before six for my commute, only 8 miles but takes over an hour!

NoWordForFluffy · 16/11/2017 08:53

I get up at 5.45, do half an hour on the cross trainer then leave at 7.25 to get the train to Liverpool. My new job is great for the working hours culture. Very much 9-5 which is VERY unusual in law!

HairsprayBabe · 16/11/2017 09:05

Choir master just texted me, I have been offered a solo on Christmas Eve, The Angel Gabriel for first communion no less... [shocked]

FridgeCut · 16/11/2017 09:22

Gabriel vibes for an awesome performance :)

DH works on The Strand so leaves around 6 AM, I then go back to sleep till 7 when Wilf knocks on my door to ask if he can get up yet. DH is back just after 5 PM so his early start is worth it so he can be home for dinner every evening.

I'm often up until midnight working, I do 28 hours a week and work either at nap time or evenings.

Gap have 50% off sleepwear today, but I've already bought ours. Should have waited, I only got 40% off!

HandbagCrazy · 16/11/2017 09:30

I am home sick today. I get dizzy whenever I move so in the interest of being productive, I have settled to more crochet while on the sofa watching Christmas 24.

I would love to spend today doing my wrapping but as I’ve bought almost everything online, it isn’t all here yet (and I know I’d regret it when I couldn’t have my wrapping day in December when all the decs are up).

HandbagCrazy · 16/11/2017 09:31

Hairspray Congratulations on the weight loss and solo! How amazing Xmas Smile

BiddyPop · 16/11/2017 14:25

Oooh Hairspray congratulations on the solo!!

Handbag that sounds blissful (apart from the "being unwell" part).

Thanks Fridge for that heads' up - I just ended up finding PJs that are acceptable for DD and I, and I added a much-needed replacement pair of jeans to the basket as well (and checked out before I added the 30% off to the jeans Blush - I've emailed to see if they can do it afterwards, as its not dispatched yet!).

Last night, my festive activities were more based on making a card for DM's birthday (70) reflecting many aspects of her life. She'll either love it and the sentiment behind it, or absolutely hate the mish-mash chaotic clutter that it is. Oh well, I've tried. (Oh, and attended the anti-bullying session for parents in school - the senior classes and staff all had workshops as well earlier in the day).

Today though, I have done an updated list of things I have yet to get. Including PJs for DH, a decent handful of gifts (a visit to a toystore would sort out at least half of those!), and various alcohol elements. I may do some sewing tonight, as I want to do 3 seams to finish 3 gifts for little ones. (Crayon rolls I started, emmm, I think 5 years ago?! Xmas Blush The original intended recipients are now far too old for them anyway!).

Mrsmadevans · 16/11/2017 17:14

Hairspray that is amazing well done my dear!
Handbag hope you feel uch better soon my dear.
I only ate the mince pies out of quality control you all understand , I was taking one for the team mwah haha , Aldis el cheapos were the best imho , of course they don't compare to home made , no comparison! Home made are the dogs worsits.
I have wrapped the dds pressies am waiting for the rest of them to come for them both to finish them.
Hope all ok take care everyone not long now!!

NoWordForFluffy · 16/11/2017 17:26

Well done on the solo, Hairspray!

Hope you're better soon, Handbag.

My Christmas leggings haven't been dispatched yet. Grrrrr! Maybe they're annoyed I asked them to combine postage?!

TheWoollybacksWife · 16/11/2017 19:42

How lovely Hairspray. I love solos in church especially at Christmas.

I've been busy with domestic stuff. I think I've done the entire Holiday Grand Plan in three days 😂 and I'm knackered 😴. I've even rug doctored all the carpets upstairs. I've got to put things straight in DD2's room and I'm done.

WreckTangled · 16/11/2017 19:49

Wow hairspray you must be amazing at singing! How exciting!

I’m really tired after work today, luckily no work tomorrow but I’m going to pick up my new car!! So exciting. Have to go to Brighton hope the train station is festive

CbeebiesAddict · 16/11/2017 20:33

Congrats hair that's amazing! Also well done on the weight loss :)

Please help me, everyone is asking for my wish list and I can't think of anything! I love book vouchers but I just got £60 worth for my birthday. Love warm snuggly things but have more than enough already. In new build house with antiscalding device so can't have my boiling baths so don't bother anymore so bath stuff no good. Enjoy cross stitch but have one partly done and one not started. Please help!

TheWoollybacksWife · 16/11/2017 20:40

Have you got a daylight lamp for your cross stitch? A hobbycraft voucher? A floor standing cross stitch frame?

My wish list has:
A lovely throw so I can use it when I'm up late and the heating has switched off.
A necklace
A handbag
A voucher for my wool shop
Booze
Chocolate mints

WreckTangled · 16/11/2017 20:40

My Christmas wish list (I won’t get anything because dh and I are too poor to buy for each other Grin):

Yellow coat from jules or boden
Knitted mustard woolly hat from fat face
New winter boots
Boots voucher for make up as and when I need it
Any chunky knit jumper as they’re my favourite!
New ted baker phone case as mine is on the way out
A decent umbrella

I’ve got dh gig tickets, a coffee maker (with timer, he’s so grumpy until he drinks coffee in the morning) and am going to get a couple of now tv sports passes. He thinks I’m not getting him anything (see above, I’m the reason we are poor BlushGrin)

Watching QVC (they're selling cake Xmas Grin )

Plan to take DH to London , look at the shops, buy things for the DC, make him carry it.

I don't work Fridays , he's taken a days leave to be subjected to the horror of Shopping Xmas Wink

HairsprayBabe · 17/11/2017 07:37

I am usually ok, hit all the right notes anyway! If I nervous then I get a bit wobbly so I might have to have a glass of mulled wine before we head out to take the edge off Xmas Blush

Very thick layer of frost here this morning, I'll take another look at the long term forcast when I get to work Xmas Grin

FridgeCut · 17/11/2017 08:05

LAst time I looked it looked like cold like this till second week of December and then turning warmer and back wetter. That is not the plan. Please ensure the weather is cold and crisp; thanks.

Painting my nails tonight with my red and green sparkly shellac ahead of my first Christmas thing of the season tomorrow. A day of shopping. Can’t wait!

SideOrderofSprouts · 17/11/2017 08:10
