So dh's echo came yesterday which I set up for him while he was in work. He's thrilled with it! I know it's early but didn't see the point in waiting for christmas as he was desperate for a speaker for the kitchen. Not sure of all it's functions yet but he will mainly use it for Spotify. I've also set up a Google calendar on my phone linked to the echo so that very day he can ask alexa what's on the calendar. He has the world's worst memory (he has epilepsy) so hoping this will help as with three kids there is almost always something on or to do. He can also use it to set reminders (or I can do it for him lol), for instance if I'm going out and ds is due medicine, a reminder can be set.

I secretly love Alexa and I'm so happy I bought it for him lol 😂

That's sounds fab Muddling. DH loves tech and I might get him Alexa or a dot for his birthday early in the new year. How is your DS doing? Is he coping at school?

I am still unwell so have spent another day mostly sitting on the sofa. I’ve watched 2 Christmas films today (a TV movie with the Sabrina the teenage witch actress and Christmas with the Kranks). I’ve finished a crochet toy which has been taking ages too so I feel like I’ve acxomplished something. Hope the dizziness clears enough for me to leave the house tomorrow though, I’m bored now

Hope all ok take care everyone ohhhh I put my tree up today too I nearly forgot to tell you I will see if I can post a pic, DD is away doing midwifery training in Salford and she won't be back home until very near Xmas day , we always put the tree up and decorate it together so I just had to do it early nothing else for it lol

woolly ds has managed four afternoons 1pm to 3pm last week and this week. Attempting five next week. He's doing good, though he did puke up his feed all over my dad's car the other morning when he picked him up!

Mrs I’m a little jealous that your tree is up. DH would have a fit if I put anything festive up now! It’s usually a battle as I want Dec 1st and he would have 20th if he could get away with it!

Muddling I have got mine the Google home version and I must admit it was the reminder function more than anything else that attracted me to the whole concept. I'm sure both versions are very samey do you just tell it to remind you something the next day? Or do you have to type in somewhere for it to remind you?

I can’t do anymore shopping until pay day Friday but then I will finish it off. Getting excited now, I have something in the diary for every weekend up until Christmas now.

november with Alexa you can either set a reminder in the Google calendar which is linked to alexa or actually ask alexa to set the reminder and then it appears in your calendar as if by magic!

Look at the lovely box I got from eBay! We will use this every year to get the perennial stuff out (sacks, stockings, plate) plus the new PJs. So a Christmas Eve box but without the sweets, DVD, hot chocolate that some people do. It'll be handy to store it in so it's easy to find too!
