Our forecast has changed so no snow here now. That doesn't surprise me really, as it has to be like 2010 for us to get it here!

I'm like you, Addict: trained out of lie ins! I never really was much of a sleeper-in; I'm certainly not now!

Baubles, DD and DS have both had coldy coughs. I'm suffering with a bit of a cold too, but kept forgetting about it with the kids being ill / grumpy / fighting! It's the season for germs!

WreckTangled · 10/12/2017 07:29

Tree day!!!

ConstantlyCooking · 10/12/2017 08:20

Thank you Crazybauble. I think I just feel a bit low. I had a really good night's sleep and am now re-doing my to do list and allocating tasks to each day. Fingers crossed that ofsted wait until next term!

FridgeCut · 10/12/2017 10:17

Snow! So festive!!

I'd be complaining about the afternoon tea, that's not fair.

So jealous of the snow! It's just wet here

There has been a lot of complaints re the afternoon teas, there was an article in the Daily Fail yest re the Ritz afternoon tea being cruddy. This woman took the Ritz to the small claims court and WON!
I would complain sweetie it is just not on ....
These teas are expensive too and some ppl are giving them as pressies too how disappointing , however the Nutcracker ahhhhhhhhh I am at peace thinking about it just wonderful!
Lots of snow here it is fabulous I love it!
Please do not worry about the Christmas schedule because we will all get there, just in a roundabout way instead of the planned list we will do it off the cuff! Some of my off the cuff Christmasses have been the best xxx
Can tell you too the cold sores are much better scabbing over nicely I will go to the ball lol .
Thank you so much for your sympathy and support I so appreciate you all it has so helped me cope with the terrible GOB! I saw quite a few ppl doing a quick recoil at me when they saw my face lol
Constant I so hope you are feeling better my dear it is such a pita espesh at this time of the year when we just want to be happy and busy
On that note I so hope everyone feels better and enjoys this beautiful snow
I have a pic for you to see how much we have had here I loves it !

I was first up this morning Grin and had a lovely time drinking my early morning tea in the kitchen, watching the snow fall and doing my Christmas scene jigsaw channeling my inner Mary Berry. I switched all the fairy lights on and enjoyed the peace.

We've had about 2-3 inches and DD1 and DS have been out to build a snowman and have a snowball fight. I've got soup going in the soup maker for lunch and plan to knit this afternoon while DH watches the footy.

ChristmasAddict · 10/12/2017 12:13

Is a soup maker worth it woolly? I love labour saving devices but wondering if it's worth it as I already have a slow cooker and a hand held blender. I never make soup though so perhaps it would inspire me as I do love soup.

TheWoollybacksWife · 10/12/2017 13:20

I love my soup maker. It was a present and I was initially sceptical as I made perfectly good soup with a saucepan and a stick blender, so it sat in a cupboard gathering dust for a tee months. However, I finally tried it and I'm utterly converted. Soup is very smooth and I can just walk away and leave it to do its stuff. You can't submerge the components but they are easy to wash - no more difficult than a pan and a blender anyway.

CrazyBaubles · 10/12/2017 13:34

We have lots of snow here and it's full going. We have braved a walk with the dogs (and had to clamber over some fallen trees) and am now about to put a roast on.

My cough is annoying me, I feel fine in general but ah, the sound of it 🙉 and it's making my throat sore.

Woolly I'm taking inspiration from your plans and am going to crochet while DH does a few chores and some work - which seems like a perfect December Sunday to me 🎄

Lovely tree Wreck! Are there lights in your stand? It looks great 🎄

WreckTangled · 10/12/2017 14:45

No, just excess from the tree lights Smile

Mrsmadevans · 10/12/2017 16:26

Love your tree Wreck, excellent job and well done. I thought you had a lovely lighted tree skirt under the tree too and was thinking I haven't seen one of those before where can I get one from lol !
Crazy, your pic looks beautiful hope you feel better soon my dear .
Woolly I may have to buy a soup maker.... I am fed up with blending the damn stuff and getting it all over the place lol! I know what you mean about watching the snow , I lay in the bath with the bathroom window open and watched the falling flakes it was so relaxing I loved it. I also put some lavender epsom salts in the bath for the first time ever it was just lovely , I am a convert to epsom salts lol.
Ceebs what do you do with your red cabbage after you have cooked it? I love red cabbage but have no idea how to cook it .
We walked up to town and went for a cuppa it was magical . I am so happy right now, hope you all are too ,this weather is just magical .
Hope all well take care on these roads my dears .

WreckTangled · 10/12/2017 17:18

Just had the village's children's Christmas party. The dc got food including Ben & Jerry's ice cream for pudding! Plus a selection box each. Feeling quite festive now

SideOrderofSprouts · 10/12/2017 18:03

Evening all.

What’s everyone got left to do? I have some more to wrap this evening before bed and then I think it’s just the veg and stuff to buy for dinner —and the wine—

OP posts:
ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 10/12/2017 18:12

I have to unwrap some Batman bedding and wrap a Fingerling in its place.

Other than baking / cooking, that's it!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/12/2017 18:39

What have I got left to do?

Erm, loads Xmas Blush

DD is pretty sorted present wise, DH ordered her a light up selfie phone case (she chose) so that's her present pile completed (She has done well, I bought her some clothes on Black Friday, she has her Beauty Advent I made and her Dec 1st Hamper, so a lot of her presents prior to Christmas) . I got one of her piercings changed yesterday bought her the new stud and she got it changed over.

DS has an XBox controller on order and we'll get money for him.

We bought our tree (trudged out in snow) hopefully set it up tomorrow.

Find a huge load of the decorations, I was away last New Year so DH put them away

Need to do a shopping list for next Monday (18th) to get the bulk of it.
I've asked the DC to add to the list so they don't do the Daily Mail Sad Face looking at the fridge.

Marzipan/ Ice the cake

Last tidy up , make sure the laundry is done and put away.

Theatre next week
Carvery meal (DS choice for his Birthday , traditional)

Work up to/ including Thursday 21st , DD finishes this Fri, DS next Wed

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/12/2017 18:41

Ooh and wrap the presents Xmas Grin

I will do that next Sunday, borrow the ironing board to use as a table , set up all up and binge watch the Eastenders omnibus .
Need to find the sticky tape and scissors

TheWoollybacksWife · 10/12/2017 19:37

I have got to:

Wrap everything - I've deliberately left it until now for maximum Christmas effect and I plan to do it on Wednesday when DS is at school for a long day.

Attend DS' carol concert at the end of this week.

Hairdresser on Saturday.

Marzipan and ice 2 Christmas cakes.

Find out what films are on at the local cinema on New Year’s Eve and book along with a restaurant for before/after. I can do this on Saturday when we are there for Star Wars.

Do a Tesco shop on 22/12 for non perishable stuff.

Collect turkey etc on Christmas Eve (pre-booked slot so just grab, pay, go - hopefully)

4 half days in work including a trip to a show, a Christmas party and a visit from Santa.

School mums night out.

Work night out.

Mrsmadevans · 10/12/2017 23:14

Done a Christmas shop from Mr T for the 23rd today , I was amazed there were spaces left!! I can alter the order up to midnight on the 22nd too so am very pleased I can relax about the essentials unless they let me down lol
Done a bit more wrapping, think I am nearly there now , Have to sort out dd1 bedroom ready for her home from Uni on Thursday I can't wait!
Hope you all enjoy your outings ! Not long now!

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/12/2017 00:12

14 🎄🎅🏻

Just 2 more weeks until the 2018 countdown threads start, folks Xmas Grin

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 11/12/2017 07:03

Two weeks?! It still feels so far away though as we've not done anything Christmassy as a whole family yet! It's our annual Santa train trip on Saturday though. Finally! 🎅🏻

HairsprayBabe · 11/12/2017 07:19

I have a snow day!
