Fingers crossed for you being able to fix your oven, 70. This is not the time of year you want to be risking anything going wrong with that!

Biddy, you could always compromise and have 2 trees... Xmas Grin ...I got very little else done. Good grief woman, do you never sleep?!? The forecast is for the weather to get worse again at the end of the week, btw, so you may need that snow gear...

We're off work again next week, and I'm looking forward to doing lots of Christmassy crafting and baking with DS. I have imbued my shop bought mincemeat with a lot of amaretto, so may need to get some more for DS to help me with! Think it might be frowned upon to get your 2 year old drunk, even at Christmas Xmas Grin

Mrsmadevans · 04/12/2017 16:07

I spent all day yesterday and I mean ALL DAY wrapping the presents, my dining room is looking better now but I made the mistake of going into Primark and I just could not resist their dressing gowns I bought 3 for ppl who have got lovely dressing gowns already but my excuse is that these are very long therefore warm and have hoods lol. I know I know I must stop twitching.
All your trees look beautiful I think we are all going to have a great time Xmas Grin
I have been very good re the food and hope to drop a coupla pounds by Christmas so I can have a little enjoyment ....... I will eat it anyway even if I haven't dropped a coupla pounds.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 04/12/2017 21:02

DD wants to help me make mince pies on Christmas Eve. I used to help my mum do the same thing! I don't think she'll want to hang around for the whole day to help though, which is probably a good thing! Xmas Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/12/2017 21:57

Three weeks to go Xmas Grin

I've done my To-Do list including tidying for DBro and DSiL visiting this weekend, doing the decorations, plan to wrap presents, taking DD to London. Need to buy the tree and some more lights I reckon .

The Big Sainsburys Food Shop Xmas Grin I get ridiculously excited by that (hope I get a non dodgy trolley that doesn't knacker my knees)

I've booked myself a couple of days off work to get things done.

Mrsmadevans · 04/12/2017 21:57

Ahhh bless her, that is so lovely Fluffy, enjoy it!

BiddyPop · 04/12/2017 22:14

whispers I probably have enough decorations for 2 trees!

And no, I went to sleep at about A 10, woke at 11.30 and was awake for the day at 2am today! I'm blaming the super moon 🌝 ( or just possibly massive lists running around my brain...)

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 05/12/2017 07:08

🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻

Two more days in work then two days off. Whoop!

FridgeCut · 05/12/2017 09:26

Things are beginning to close for Christmas, we have our Christmas party at one of our groups today. I have my Christmas jumper and legging on and Gabe has his nice snowman jumper on. After school we are going to make shortbread and a yule log for Sunday. Nigella says it will last so I will stick them both in air tight tins and in the outside fridge.

HairsprayBabe · 05/12/2017 11:16

put these on the ponce tastic thread but thought you lovely lot might also enjoy!

Mrsmad that sounds very satisfying, to have everything wrapped!! Beware the TWITCH!! But well done on being careful with food - enjoy the festive feasting!

Fluffy that sounds lovely that your DD wants to bake with you! Is she of an age where what the mincemeat is imbued with doesn't matter? Unlike poor Firefly!! I love the pic of Cbeebies and your DS working away on yours!

Good luck sorting the oven 70s, that sounds worrying. Slightly jealous of the "2 days off to do the big shop and sorting" though....(I just booked an internet shop for most things this year - but I might manage to get out for a reasonable storecupboard shop one evening - there's 1 big supermarket that stays open until midnight the week running up to Christmas, and opens 7am 22nd to only close again at 6pm on Christmas Eve - they used to do 24 hours a lot more but drastically reduced in recent years).

I haven't noticed Wooly or Constantly recently - then again, I am slightly skimming the thread so apologies if I have passed you over unintentionally.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 05/12/2017 12:06

Biddy, she's 4, so it's very much 'help', not help! Xmas Grin

She's excited to make Santa's mince pies!

BiddyPop · 05/12/2017 12:24

Oh! Enjoy!! (DM never tried that with us - just gave us vegetable peelers to tackle the veg mountains on Christmas Eve instead!! [FGRIN]).

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/12/2017 15:32

I'm here Biddy. Real life is getting a bit hectic, unfortunately.

I've got my wreath making course tomorrow which will be a lovely oasis (pun completely intended) of calm and I'll post a photo unless it's absolutely pants Xmas Grin

FireflyGirl · 05/12/2017 17:01

It's getting so close! Eek!

You made me chuckle, Biddy!

I got very artistic with my wreath making on Sunday, and made 3 of descending size that hang vertically to look like a tree. Very lovely, except I don't have a hook to hang it on Xmas Blush

DMIL's looks lovely and she's hung it on her door. Mine's on the ground waiting for a hook...

SideOrderofSprouts · 05/12/2017 19:33

Hairspray those are amazing!

I’m here as well just real life getting on top of me at the moment

Week and a half of work to go then two weeks off weee!

My decs are up 🎄🎄 and I've already had an interrogation phone call from dm about my tree. As we're away we've bought a very modern, white wire tree thing with multicolour lights on and have just hung a few favourite baubles on it. It's completely not-me as there's nothing traditional about it but I quite like it. DM apparently does not Xmas Hmm

I am now in full on festive mode. I'm splitting my annual wrapping day in half and doing half on Thursday and half on the weekend when DH goes out. And I'm currently watching Elf Xmas Smile

WreckTangled · 05/12/2017 20:52

I have no idea when I'm going to do my wrapping! Will probably have to do it when the dc are in bed Hmm that way dh can help (he's allowed to help with the stockings but that's it). I think the dc are old enough now to help me with presents for the family.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 05/12/2017 20:57

I have a Fingerling to wrap (and Batman bedding to unwrap!) and my secret Santa gift for work and I'm truly done!

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/12/2017 21:57

I need to buy one small present, a bottle of whisky and a voucher and then I'm done. I'm planning to wrap on Wednesday and Friday of next week as I'll have long days and the house to myself.

I just need to knock up a suit of Roman armour Hmm for DS by the end of the week, cope with an estate agent visit on Thursday and provide food for a bring and share party at the weekend. Easy. Oh, and meet DD2's boyfriend properly at the weekend.

I am MNing with a strong drink and a bowl of nibbles and contemplating my list.

Mrsmadevans · 05/12/2017 22:01

Biddy. I am going to declutter my baubles by next year and give them to charity well before christmas so they can make some money , l have far too many too. I am still twitching am sitting on my hands here trying to stop myself buying HP trivial pursuit. I mean I don't need it. l must get a grip!!
Handbag ,well done on the festive mood lol and the tree sounds lovely even if it is more mod than your usual choice.
ELF IS AMAZING LOVE IT!
Well done on the wrapping Fluffs, I think you will love doing the mince pies with your baby girl , we always made a jam turnover for mine with their initial on it with the left over pastry.....ahhh memories just lovely.
Wreck get the DC to help with the wrapping they will love it and be so excited !
Sprout hope you are ok sweetie, never mind soon be off work and then you can relaxez vous phew!

Fridge you are such a busy person and how can you cook all these lovely cakes and not eat them I can't do that see I am just a guts! I bet Gabe looked beautiful in his jumper bless him !
I have not scoffed today but it is prtially becaus eI have th emost awful cold sores. Took my dad to have his cataract done today and I always get them when l am stressed I will put a pic on to show you, you will need a strong stomach mind they are so bad lol, they are so sore I am using Acyclovir cream because they are so bad .

Mrsmadevans · 05/12/2017 22:08

Woolly you are doing what I am too mning and cuppa drunk through a straw and some clems ...divine !
You have a lot going on next week my dear but it will get done never fear.
I just realised the set of my mouth looks really miserable , I am not really just attention seeking lol and looking for sympathy ahhhhhh . No not really but I would Like some tips to get rid of them if anyone has them, Please !

FridgeCut · 05/12/2017 22:15

Gabriel got rather covered in yule log! I have 28 hours of work to do this week, I am out in London tomorrow, I have a haircut on Friday evening and I have so much cooking to do. I also have to wrap and post three secret santa gifts and two books. I am in danger of falling off my wheel!

Hope the cataract surgery went well and the cold sores clear up, you poor thing!

What is the difference between snowmen and snow women? Snowballs! It’s countdown to Christmas thread 5!
TheWoollybacksWife · 05/12/2017 22:17

Mines an alcoholic drink Blush

MrsMad they look sore. Poor you. Can the doctor give you some antivirals? I get the occasional cold sore when I'm run down so you have my utmost sympathy.

Mrsmadevans · 05/12/2017 22:31

Ahhh Fridge you picked the right name for Gabriel he looks positively angelic in that picture bless him ! You have loads to do but I know you will do it you are always on the go and do so much I think you are amazing to do so much! How do you do it? The cataract surgery was brilliant the staff AT the Royal Gwent eye dept are just wonderful, such a superb service . Dad seems fine very tired bless him but then he is 87 so it is no surprise really. Cold sores are doing their job and keeping me off the booze and the food lol thank you for the sympathy my dear .
Woolly I want to have some M& S egg nog but I think it will make the sores soggy so I best leave it or I would be joining you !
The Acyclovir is anti viral cream so hopefully it will start to work soon, if it just takes away the soreness I would be happy never mind they will go soon I expect just have to suffer with them for now at least it is not over Christmas lol !
