I'll start.

I log onto the tree thread and what do I see? Prada's tree looking at me.

I sww a flash of hot pink and thought oooh the i saw it was Pradas. Prada i feel like we should be friends im so intrigued by you and your house. Its beautiful. Your taste is impecible.

Oh dear! I am the only one who doesn't like Prada's trees? No offence Prada.I can see they are artistic,but just not to my taste. They seem cold and clinical and stylised to my very unartistic eye.

They aren't to my taste dementedma but then prada would probably need smelling salts if she saw mine .

I live in an old rambling farmhouse with chipped 200 year old flagstones/tiles. Fireplaces with the last fire's ash in the grates etc., etc..

My tree has very few things that match (so does my house).

Fantastic beasts, I'm sure your trees are just lovely. i do believe in surrounding yourself in things that make you happy. My house is actually 200+ years old but was rescued as a wreck to a period-appropriate exterior to compliment the very modern interior.

Enid, no this house has not been in an interiors magazine but is going on a locations website in 2017.

Dementedma, not offended. I renovate houses for a living. The house is verrrrry toasty though thanks to underfloor heating

Prada Love your house, the doors, paneling etc, its gorgeous and love the trees too. I am a maxim list but love your restraint + the balls under the tree.

I love all the trees on here. That's the thing, whatever makes you happy puts everyone is a great mood and is (I think) the point of the thread and why I joined in. My friend sent me a what'sapp yesterday of literally half a tree (the metal rod snapped off at the top half Lol) and she's still celebrating the half that's left. I love that this will be the story of their Xmas for her kids this year.

Firsttimemum- a locations website is for properties that are used for magazine shoots, TV and film work. The flash adverts have to take place somewhere similarly where there is (shudder) a murder in a house on a bbc drama.....

Okay so thanks to this cute little guy, I don't think a tree is a good idea this year. I also don't have anywhere to put one as out corner sofa takes up two walls and corners, the TV is in a corner and the stairs are in the other corner.

How can I make my house more festive without having something that the kitten will destroy?!

He/she is better than a tree Nick. What about a twig, knicked from the garden or woods with some battery LEDs wrapped round it?

We live in France. Here's our tree

We have an 19 month old DS who is into eeeeeverything so we've been saying 'oh we'll just get the fake little tree down this year and put it on the table out of DS's way'.

I left my dh alone for a few hours and came home to this.

But I'm very glad he persuaded me. I love it but not the pine needles

Twig might be a winner, though DP would love the Ferrero Rocher!
