lol at Liberace / Elton John. No, but the piano was a present from Father Xmas three years ago to a then 7, now 10 yr old DD. She luffs the new piano stool colour. Yes, it is a library/ music/ study room. The boxes are accounts etc waiting to go into storage...

No the books are waiting to go up on the high shelves but I love the idea of a retractable piano...

No I am not a writer, but I do collect a lot of modern art. The book plates are a parody of the penguin covers by the Connor Brothers and they read 'A load of fuss about fuck all' they were a gift so I display them but they are rather inappropriate for kids bring around. I am a bad mother...

This was mine when it first went up a week or so ago - doesn't look quite so neat now the cats have been up it a few times!

Enid my mum has these crackers to decorate the tree. I love them. Hers are from when she was a newlywed.

Enid just read they have a mint inside. I always wanted to know what was inside, a sweet makes sense. Hers are from the late 60s.

glitter How lovely! These have a date and a price on the box and say something like 'contains a snap and a mint'. Wonder if I've got the date spectacularly wrong. I will check in the new year. They were originally DH's grandmother's. Wish I'd brought them down from the loft now.

Here's ours, it's a bit short and fat (bit like myself, boom) but I like it.

Aww thank you FantasticBeasts I bought some extra lights this year and I think it's definitely made a difference.
