Brace yourselves and form an orderly queue.

XMas clock.com says 357 (plus 14 hours)

Happy New Year to one and all. Hope 2015 is a good one Smile

Two weeks till Christmas Eve Eve (there should be a Special Name for CEE )

Still got tonnes to do but it's all last minute-ey stuff .
No point in buying food too early and having nowhere to store it or risk it all going off .

Writes even more lists....................

Hi all,

Sorry I went AWOL again - combination of family stuff and being a nice person who said "Yes" to a plea for people to sit on interview boards (meant almost 3 weeks offsite and major stress - I've learned my lesson about being nice!!).

Anyway, making decent progress on some fronts, less on others, but getting a bit excited. I spent a couple of hours wrapping last week when DH was up for a red-eye flight (I tend to not sleep again if I wake when he goes) so almost everything I have bought is actually wrapped. Still have a good few things to buy though.

International cards are sent. MIL gave out to DH when he was posting a bundle, that we shouldn't be sending any this year - but he wants to (and lots of the international ones are to my friends or to former au pairs, so not really relevant to the "non-card year" issue).

I am going to get the decorations from the storage unit tomorrow evening. And we will put them up soon. When we find a spare half hour. But DD is enjoying snuggling under her Santa fleece.

Things to do:
Buy more stamps
Buy more presents (still have 15 to get fully and 6 to complete)
Post package overseas - deadline was Monday!
Post package to UK - or decide to give at New Years (more likely)
Decorate
Decide on where to stay and tell host (2 invites)
Clean the house. Properly!

And actually enjoy some magic. Although I am turning on a combination of Merry Christmas Radio and another channel on Live365 which has gorgeous Christmas choral music, in between times.

BiddyPop · 09/12/2015 13:21

Oh, and write all the cards for this country - that's about another 50!!

Have washed Christmas mugs, bowls and plates ready for seasonal use. Christmas towels and tea towels in use now.
Finishing cards this weekend and collecting DS from university.
These next few days form one of my favourite times of year. I also need to find a carol service as I am missing my usual one collecting DS.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/12/2015 21:29

DD and I went shopping this evening, we all put the decoration up today (even DS helped Xmas Grin ) but I need to finish off the hall and the mantlepiece.

I have some flameless candles for the hearth.

I bought a jumper Xmas Grin ) glittery rather than Christmas (the Christmas Jumpers this year haven't grabbed me). So I;ll wear OTT glitter sequins this year.

I have one more £100 shop then I get my extra bonus Nectar points . When I get my Christmas Food Shop, I have my (very long) list but I can get lots of extra nice things too. (As a vegetarian, I'll but the Freedom / Free Range meats for guests. It costs ££ but I would rather get the better if smaller joints of meat with a clearer conscience)
