Still trying to track down my Christmas Jumper (might give up )

Got some gorgeous tins from Lidl (storage tins)

Some M&S beauty (for me, still doing my Princessing Xmas Grin )

I'll do a hairdye, mask, epilate (couldn't bring myself to pay full price for wax)

Bath

Doing the Christmas Pudding today .At the moment it's soaking up the Guinness.

Did my hairdye, left it on for allotted 30 minutes, went upstairs and my pesky DS had comandeered the bathroom.

So it had 45 minutes......................hopefully my hair won;t all snap off and I'll need to ask for nice hats for Christmas, Shock

Just eaten some stollen because it is December tomorrow!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/11/2015 21:49

I saw some mini stollen bites in Lidl last week and did consider buying some (not for me though, no wheat Xmas Hmm ) but I'll get some nearer Christmas for my visitors.

Though I think it sells quite quickly so I need to wander back.......for dishwasher tablets of course she lied

Nearly December Xmas Grin

On the Home Straits now

Had a lovely day with my mum and dad today. Have been poorly so they nipped down to look after me (sniff - I love them!)

Went for a stroll round a garden centre and bought a few bits and bobs, and then went in Home Sense and bought a few stocking fillers for DH. My dad has fallen in love with Home Sense, I swear he'd have spent thousands if my mum had let him.

Have wrapped most of our nieces and nephews presents this afternoon so feel that I am getting there slowly!

ConstantlyCooking · 01/12/2015 20:12

70 you can make a fake stollen type snack with readymade marzipan and dried fruit. You bake them until lightly golden.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/12/2015 00:09

Fake stollen eh? Mmmmmmmm (I have some marzipan larding about in the pantry)

I love Home Sense, one shop where it doesn't pay to go off and think about it for a couple of days...it'll be gone.

I might have a wander in there tomorrow, I think.

I need to get crackers , my Christmas jumper (still looking Xmas Blush ) and bathmats.
DD asked for an Advent Calender today even though they've been in the shops for weeks and she never mentioned them

I put the DC Christmas Bedding on today.
DD was pleased, DS was Xmas Hmm at the whole thing (but I think he'll appreciate it, his Christmas Bedding is Cosy )

It will be Christmas Eve in three weeks!
I need to buy Christmas bedding and deep clean and tidy this weekend so we can put the tree up on Sunday.

KinkyDorito · 03/12/2015 07:41

70 I am following a punishing elimination diet because of poor health, so no wheat (or grains), sugar or dairy. Argh! I have been trawling pinterest for nice ideas. There's no way I'm getting left out of treats when I'm the one who does all the festive graft Xmas Grin. May relax the sugar rule... Some nice ideas I've found that might be worth a look:

ive already got my greatest christmas wish. Dp was coming back for christmas anyway but only for a limited amount of days but because his work have another office nearby that needs cover for a week and couple of days, he will be back early so he will in fact be home for almost 3 weeks!! Nothing, no gift, no moment nothing can top this for me. I actually had a little cry when he told me Grin

ConstantlyCooking · 03/12/2015 22:43

Can you eat eggs and fruit? You could experiment with ground almonds, egg white and dried fruit. Maybe add different ground nuts. You could soak the fruit in tea first, drain and then combine with other ingredients.
I haven't tried this - I am just basing it on ideas from Nordic cooking which includes lots of almonds.

Ahhh OneNight that is lovely, enjoy having DP for the festivities . Have you got things planned to do (or maybe don't tell me Xmas Blush Xmas Wink )

Constantly yes eggs are fine, fruit have to be careful. (oranges, dried fruit, apples are worse)

I will eat a slice of the Christmas Cake ( and hope for the best )
I love marzipan and dark chocolate (with a random walnut for good measure) so if I have any marzipan left over, I'll make a few chocolates.

I must try my new gluten free bread mix this weekend

Still haven't finished shopping but have bought a jumper with snowflakes on it.
DS is back from university next week so I want to get Christmas bedding for him( as suggested by 70 in the summer).

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/12/2015 16:53
Xmas Grin Have you bought him bedding yet Constantly

I love all the tartan out there but it wouldn't go in any of our rooms sadly.
I always associate tartan with New Year rather than Christmas but it has a sort of Remote-Huntng-Lodge-In-The-Middle-Of-Nowhere feel to it which conjours up all toasty cosy thoughts (rather than crowds and drizzle)

I am hoping to go shopping tonight to buy Christmas/winter bedding to start our new tradition. Already starting the idea of coming home to a Christmassy house and that marking the start of our holidays.

Paperblank · 07/12/2015 18:28

I've blitzed our lounge today and am ready for tree day on Thursday!!

Have got big plans for tomorrow - last presents to buy and wrap the lot. DH will be in London on a lash up so he will be out of the way so I can really crack on.

Once this weekend is over I can relax into the festivities Xmas Grin

I can't wait!
