40 Xmas Grin
I need to step up a gear as there are now just five weekends to go.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/11/2015 17:34

Five weekends Xmas Shock

And in December only very brave/mad people go out shopping on a Saturday.

I'm writing my lists , going through the pantry and trying to work out what I can buy ahead (found 3 jars of Branston pickle so result !)

Just had to buy a new battery for my car, so didn't manage to get out today to shops .

I still haven't planned anything for the Traditional Day Out but most likely looking at a cinema trip.
I'm going to be busy every weekend except for one, so I'll get my shopping done when I'm on a non-work day (everyone at work calls my Day Off ) but the housework still needs done so I'll choose a day and hope for the best.
Then DH and I have a Traditional Shopping Day booked so we can get last minute things .

39 I am feeling so Cristmassy at the moment, gave some cards and presents out at yesterday to relatives I don't see very often.

Went real life shopping and got some great bits and bobs, the best thing was a really beautiful miss santa dress from home bargains for my DD. Finished wrapping all our friends and family presents just OH and DD to go and I think twich, twich I have done!

We are going to 2 local light switch on's next weekend, DD carol service, DD birthday party, Panto and Local Christmas market then its Christmas so we now have no free weekends at all.

We accidentally saw Father Christmas last week so can cross that off the list now. DD was really impressed that the number one thing on her list was Chocolate and he gave her that!

Oh and bought all my Chocolate treats and puddings in a huge Lidl so that's done too. Last year was far far too busy so wanted to get most things finished by end of November so we can just enjoy December and that does seem to be going to plan.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/11/2015 21:10

I bought a gorgeous milk jug today (with robins on it) for the table at Christmas breakfast (need to make sure it's a decent pourer though)

Nearly bought a Christmas pudding (half price) I'm debating whether I should buy one or make one.
The time/ingredients/cooking has to be factored in (though I think I would have what I need after making the cake. Just need to buy Guiness )

The days are beginning to whizz by now. I now need to start doing the tasks on my list not just writing them in my Christmas notebook!
Love the sound of the robin jug. I have Christmas crockery, towels, aprons etc that appear on the first Sunday of Advent.

On Saturday evening, in the car park of Woodies (a local DIY chain), DH asked if "we" were doing ok on the Christmas shopping yet? Hmm Well, I have done some buying but not a lot, and it is spread across the whole family (both his and mine). I think we both need to sit down with my list tonight and make some decisions, at least on ideas, and he will need to step up a bit this year.

Yesterday afternoon, I spent a couple of hours upstairs with my book, a flask of tea and listening to Christmas podcasts (music, and lots of talk about the history of Christmas and some of its traditions). DH was horizontal on the couch watching a foreign movie (subtitled so didn't sleep - but did relax), and DD was up in her room playing. So we all got some much-needed down time. Shopping and the like will just have to wait.

My Yankee Candle Christmas Collection is on it's way Xmas Grin

I need to go to the shops tomorrow so I might nosey round a bit .
I'll have a look in Dunelm while it's quieter (I need shower curtain, mugs, mat that goes round the toilet and coasters)

OP posts:
Paperblank · 18/11/2015 21:36

I love a mooch round Dunelm. I've usually got DH with me though and he just doesn't get the fact that I do need absolutely everything. I bought some Christmas tree shaped washing up sponges last time I went because they are an absolute necessity for Christmas Day!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/11/2015 22:09

Xmas Grin @ Christmas Tree sponges.

I didn't get to Dunelm (Real Life got in the way of my Festive Dreaming ) but I am planning trading up some of my Nectar points in the Double Up and buy some crackers. (I'm not looking for snazzy gifts but I don't want the plastic tat) , saw some nice ones today.

My candles arrived and most were purloined by DD .

DH and I are going out on Friday, (London) should be getting it's festive lights on now.

Our local lights are switched on tomorrow , don't know if there's a sleb but The Gruffalo is making an appearance................. aaahh

That's 5 weeks to Christmas Eve!!

My new wardrobes were finished last night, and I got half my clothes back in there. Too tired to face the rest - the weekend will be here soon enough. Although, there are still no doors on the wardrobes in the guest bedroom (should be delivered and hung next week instead) but we've no guests planned this week anyway.

I need to collect a book for DH at lunchtime (never got out earlier this week). I've brought home the Lego advent calendar from under my desk as I leave the office today for almost 3 weeks of interviewing (poor candidates - I am brain dead these days).

DD and I are going to the local equivalent of Westfields on Sunday afternoon, so help me, but at least we might get some bits done.

Now feel need to buy a Christmas washing up sponge to match Christmas washing up liquid and tea towelsGrinXmas Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/11/2015 11:53

One of those utterly cheesey Christmas films on Ch5 (I have watched part of it before but the film is set in a Vineyard so no snow Xmas Shock )

Ya just know that Heroine and moody but impossibly handsome Hero will fall madly in love at the end.
Saved 1hr 45 minutes of my life there.

Constantly of course you need them! You also need the posh Christmas washing up liquid that M & S do. It makes the washing up almost a pleasure to do.

Am also contemplating Christmas loo roll and kitchen roll from Groupon.

I may have been up late watching Christmas TV highlights [santa]

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/11/2015 00:14

I haven't heard any Christmas songs out in the shops (yet) but I'm sure I'll sing along with them Xmas Blush

DD and I did a late-ish shopping trip on Saturday evening, the decorations were up, it was pleasantly busy.

I got DS Christmas PJs (that he says he won;t wear but I'll sew them onto him but I reckon he'll be convinced )

28 just got one more present left to buy and I am done! All my cards have been written and addressed with stamps, so just waiting for Tuesday to post them out.

After last year being silly crazy we have scaled things down and I was determined to be organised this time. Now just looking forward to next week when I can get the decorations up Xmas Grin
