Squatting, I didn't use a pattern I just drew a stocking shape on some paper, cut it out and pinned it to four layers of fabric (two outer, two lining) before cutting out. Hanging loops and cuffs I just worked out according to how big my stocking was.

I are a v scientific, accurate sewing person
