My favourite is Santa Claus the movie. We watched it in the cinema when I was a little girl, it was my first cinema trip and we ate ice cream in little tubs.

Every year I watch it and enjoy it just as much as I did that first time.

Elf is a close second, then Christmas with the Kranks.

What's your favourite xmas film and why?

:o I've been thinking of name changing to be honest. I've had this name for ages and I'm a bit bored of it. I was thinking of another HIMYM theme though.

I've noticed a few other RobinBlahs though. There's a RobinSherbatski and a RobinStinson. They appeared after me so they obviously copied Xmas Grin.

stickysausages · 08/12/2013 20:52

Bad Santa! Grin

plus3 · 08/12/2013 20:55

Muppets Christmas Carol - watched every year since I was at university, and now with the family.

We all watched Elf for the first time today, and think that may also become a yearly tradition!

I do love It's a wonderful life - but haven't seen it for a few years now

Can I have 3 votes? (Innocent face)

hugoagogo · 08/12/2013 20:56

Muppets Christmas Carol, (it even melts my bah humbug heart)

closely followed by The Santa Clause.

scripsi · 08/12/2013 20:57

The Holiday (also great as everyone here wants to watch it) but curious in that I don't think that there is a Christmas Day in it, it skips to NYE.

BabsAndTheRu · 08/12/2013 21:05

Love all the movies on the list but my favourite is The Family Stone

MrsBramleyApple · 08/12/2013 21:10

The Holiday.............

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 08/12/2013 21:11

Gonna have to chime in for santa claus with Dudley more, even with sound off, its so christmassy in the background. ( christmas images).

Tons more films I love....If we could chose more would go for something Dickens....

MrsBramleyApple · 08/12/2013 21:11

Muppets Xmas Carol. We save it til Xmas eve and it just wouldn't be Christmas without it! Al the family love it and if I watch it at all in December before 14th it's just not the same, it has to be saved until then!

Also love Father Christmas, Arthur Christmas, elf, Home Alone, The Snowman and Polar Express and we watch all of them in the run up to the big day. Bloody love Christmas films. Haven't watched so,e of these so off to order them on amazon!

Breadkneadslove · 08/12/2013 21:27

National lampoons Christmas vacation...

LaRegina · 08/12/2013 21:35

Can't believe nobody's mentioned The Wizard of Oz! My 'must see' Christmas film. Not Christmassy really but my earliest memories are of watching it at Christmas Smile Giving my age away there!

Also love Meet Me In St Louis - and particularly the scene where Judy Garland sings 'Have yourself a merry little Christmas'. Christmas with a cherry on top Smile

It's a wonderful life. James Stewart, as always, is amazing in it.

duchesse · 08/12/2013 21:43

I might, just might, accept to a classic Xmas film. You can keep all your excitable elves though!

Xmas Wink
Canidae · 08/12/2013 21:52

The Christmas Bunny. It is predictable but it is sweet and I love all the bunnies.

Twooter · 08/12/2013 21:58

Crikey, that was quick.

andagiraffeinapineappletree · 08/12/2013 22:10

Elf - makes me cry every time, and funny. I love it.

I also like die hard, muppets c c, bad santa, christmas with the kranks and scrooged.

Not that keen on santa clause the movie. I hate it's a wonderful life - really when he has his ears boxed, its awful just makes me depressed. Going to have a look through thread now!
