My favourite is Santa Claus the movie. We watched it in the cinema when I was a little girl, it was my first cinema trip and we ate ice cream in little tubs.

Every year I watch it and enjoy it just as much as I did that first time.

Elf is a close second, then Christmas with the Kranks.

What's your favourite xmas film and why?

Christmas Tree.

No-one has ever heard of it, it was a freebie with the Daily M** years ago and Marie Osmond does the voice and it's bloody marvellous. All the little woodland creatures decorate the lonely little tree in the cold and the broken decoration that the family threw out is there and it's just wonderful.

The Muppets in second place. Dd watched it last night for the first time, and it showed its age in that there weren't many special effects (well, apart from talking frogs and such) but it was all the better for it. That rat is a bloody genius.

I find Polar Express weird. It's the graphics. It heebs me a bit.

It's a wonderful life, gets me every time, and I have watched it a lot of times!

happybubblebrain · 08/12/2013 15:13

Elf is the best, miles ahead of all the rest.

cranberryorange · 08/12/2013 15:19

Santa Claus the movie with Dudley Moore followed closely by Rise of the Guardians which has to be the best recent Xmas movie thats been made for years.

Love actually still remains number 1 for me but not for the kids!

MissLivvy · 08/12/2013 15:22

It's a wonderful life.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/12/2013 15:28

DH loves Its a Wonderful Life but I was a bit Hmm

DC loves Home Alone but I cannot see the point of leaving a beautifully decorated house to fly to France for Christmas Blush

Love Actually and Polar Express are my watch again and again films

But my Number One Favourite has to be A Christmas Carol - the animated Jim Carey one ( love JC)

I watched Elf after too many Sainsburys Salted Caramel Chocolates.....so I always have the association of Envy vom face

Muppet's Christmas Carrol definitely for me - reminds me of being ds1's age with the film adaptation of Oliver! the musical an extremely close second. This always used to be the first film we'd watch as a family at Christmas time (always was on bbc2 about a week before Christmas) and holds some happy memories for me
