Sixth thread Shock but it’s OK we are allowed to get excited about Christmas now as it’s September

I’ve been a bit sporadic with this OP in what has been selected for adding in or not as there are too many links to add them all in, hope I haven’t forgotten anything major. Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren’t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. I haven’t checked all links to see if prices have altered since last thread so apologies if youg et very excited followed by disappointed. I will try to do better next time. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don’t work or if there’s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another Wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

Thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous Grin

OP posts:
Oreocrumbs · 13/09/2013 20:21

LippyDi, yes I got October then September too Hmm.

I'm going to use that as my reason when I cancel. I'm going to use the fact that I haven't had any from Women's fitness when I cancel them!

ProtectiveMother, DD is getting several mid price items rather than one big thing this year. I usually set a price, and that will either be taken up with 1 'big' present and the rest little, or like this year mostly 'middle' presents.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/09/2013 20:23

I tend to get dd a few medium presents and a few small ones. I usually get my parents to get her the big one Grin

Oreocrumbs · 13/09/2013 20:25

Ooh Leilandri I've ordered DD the princess mugs, she will love them!

JustBecauseICan · 13/09/2013 20:28

I get one "important" present for dd and then lots of squinkies little thingies.

Did a Body Shop order today, and a Tesco one, and am about to away to the Entertainer while the doctor who stuff is still on offer- some of it.

Leilandri · 13/09/2013 20:31

Santa does the stocking and 1 asked for gift. If the asked for gift is expensive then Mummy and Daddy only get little bits. This year DS1 has asked for a The King and Chick Hicks from Disney Cars. I have got them from ebay (still packaged) and will wrap them together in one box from Santa. DS1 has decided that DS2 would like Makka Pakka and Upsy Daisy (DS2 can't tell me what he'd like, but I'm sure he'll be delighted by DS1's choice) they are 2 for £15 in argos, so they will get wrapped in one box too. Smile So as this thread has supplied some excellent bargains, Mummy and Daddy will get to be the stars of the show this year!! Grin

RhondaJean · 13/09/2013 20:47

Oreo you don't need any reason to cancel.

I've just opened the new glamour which came in at some point this week and guess what - yep - sept as well! Grin

Can anyone see any books on there that a dc in yr1 might be able to read?

Xmas colour-in paper tablecloth

DD (and I) loved colouring a different version of this big paper tablecloth spread out on the floor with friends recently! Lots of different designs but this Christmas one would be good! £6.50 Grin

hippoherostandinghere · 13/09/2013 21:23

Theonlyone I love those Mirrors, were they quite small though? They'd be perfect for teachers gifts.

Theonlyoneiknow · 13/09/2013 21:35

They are small but not too small, compact sized! But they don't come with a sleeve to put them so I swithered making one out of felt and fabric glue but didn't in the end as I ran out of time! My friend gave them to her bridesmaids too and they all lived them

Rosvita · 13/09/2013 22:08

Slight off topic of bargains but just to say for teacher this year I am planning to get one of the oxfam/UNICEF gifts (e.g. Gift of school supplies, educate a child for a year etc).Better than the same old tat that will just end up in the bin imo.

chirpchirp · 13/09/2013 22:44

Thanks chocky, LOVE that table cloth. Have ordered one for Christmas Day.

Rosvita - have you come across Mary's Meals - you can get a big blug plastic mug from them for a minimum donation of £7, which is what it costs to feed a child in Malawi for a year - each child gets a mug they are responsible and then get fed a mug full of nutritious porridge at school each day to give them the energy to get them through the day. Teacher gets a mug which reminds them they are feeding a child somewhere in the depths of poverty and enabling them to go to school for a year.

Think it is called their big blue mug appeal - www.marysmeals.org.uk/mug/

I'm not connected to the charity, but it's much smaller than many of the big 'send a goat' type charities and the fact that you both get a mug provides a bit more of a connection than a certificate that says you donated a goat or water well or whatever (of course those are all very worth too!) plus it's something to wrap up and a talking point!

zipzap · 13/09/2013 23:28

This is cute Santa writing paper for thank you letters... www.amazon.co.uk/Santa-Christmas-Thank-You-Sheets/dp/B002KWV0KK/ref=pd_sim_kh_7

£2.62 from amazon, free delivery, for 20 sheets

ViviDeBeauvoir · 14/09/2013 00:07

Thanks whoever posted the Lionel Richie teapot - just ordered one in blue for my brother who has very kitsch taste and loves tea!

BeaWheesht · 14/09/2013 00:12

Thanks for the disposable camera link, got dc one each for stockings. Dread to think what photos will be like!!

Mary's meals is an absolutely amazing charity - I hadn't heard of that appeal. That's ds's teacher sorted then :)
