Sixth thread Shock but it’s OK we are allowed to get excited about Christmas now as it’s September

I’ve been a bit sporadic with this OP in what has been selected for adding in or not as there are too many links to add them all in, hope I haven’t forgotten anything major. Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren’t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. I haven’t checked all links to see if prices have altered since last thread so apologies if youg et very excited followed by disappointed. I will try to do better next time. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don’t work or if there’s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another Wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

Thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous Grin

Tea, attheend Got Elemis today!

CatAmongThePigeons · 13/09/2013 19:24

I managed to get the Elle code to work at about half two, looks like they pulled it soon after.

The email stated that the gift was OOS, so I'll have to see if I get it, or if I get something different.

Leilandri · 13/09/2013 19:37

Nice little cooking accessories for those with DC's at cooking age, or to accompany a toy kitchen ...
apron
hat
cookie cutters
utensils

Leilandri · 13/09/2013 19:42

For those looking for teachers (etc) gifts, maybe the mugs that jojay mentioned, personalised by DC's with ceramic pens? Then filled with sweets/hot choc etc. Cheap and personalised. my DMiL is a TA in a primary school and she always prefers the personal gifts.

Leilandri · 13/09/2013 19:45

For Hello Kitty DD's, maybe with hot choc? mug

Oreocrumbs · 13/09/2013 19:46

RhondaJean - I ordered 2 women's fitness subs, one for me, one for DP. Have received 2 bottled of Elemis, both addressed to me. Still no magazines though Hmm.

I think the person who paid for the subscription gets the free gifts, not the recipient. They both came at the same time, but were in 2 different envelopes, both had my name on.

I would ring up and ask about it.

LippyDi, I got 4 boxes of tooth whitener today too. I can't really remember exactly what the offer was, but I don't think it was this! I thought it was some sort of kit rather than 4 tubes of toothpaste, but I'm happy enough with that. At least they will get used, I suspect the kit would have got dusty in a cupboard.

DP got rather excited by them, vain thing that he is Grin.

bigwigg · 13/09/2013 19:47

Hello, been nosing on this thread and grabbed lots of bargains so many thanks to the OP. Just thought I'd add, as DH is a teacher, her loves the personal presents rather than shop bought stuff
He got one of these M&M jars is summer and loved it:

www.mommyskitchen.net/2011/05/your-my-m-teacher-appreciation-gift.htm

SpottyTeacakes · 13/09/2013 19:49

Love the mug! Not going anywhere near an Argos though (or anywhere in fact as its Goodwood revival which means horrendous traffic).

I've decided that dd can make reindeer 'tree decorations' with hand and foot prints Grinsomething personal but that they can dispose of after Christmas so doesn't end up cluttering their house

HeathcliffeItsMe · 13/09/2013 19:49

The Spicery is offering 25% off its spice subscriptions with the code FAVOURITES but only until 15th September.

bymoonlight · 13/09/2013 19:51

Have reserved a Hello Kitty mug for my 6yo obsessed dd1.

Thank you Leilandri Thanks Smile

Oreocrumbs · 13/09/2013 19:52

LaTrucha great idea about the hampers. I was just trying to work out what to do about nursery today.

DD has a key worker, but all of the staff seem to have some sort of direct relationship with her.

I had so far come up with a gift (like the molton brown hand cream if that offer re appears this year) for key worker, and a tea/coffee hamper for the staff room.

But the Thornton's hamper would be better.

RhondaJean · 13/09/2013 19:53

Hmmm I think I might need to phone them Oreo.

Getting less and less happy about a £5.99 book instead of an elemis product. have not been readig book avidly, allowed colleague to photocopy it and written a shopping list based on it, oh no, not me

The tooth whitening - it did say something about a kit, it sounded like a toothpaste type kit though, I imagined it with a toothbrush and things rather than a whitening gel. I got it for dd1, reckon she will be just as happy anyway.

I have decided to get the DDs each a little box of lucky charms from the American sweet shop thats opened in town, and put them in Christmas bowls and package them up under the tree for breakfast Xmas morning.

If anyone sees nice / cheap Xmas bowls please let me know.

LippyDiDooDah · 13/09/2013 20:06

oreo thanks, think that must be right then. Can't remember what the offer was either Smile but quite happy as it's a free gift. Did you get the September issue this week also then? So weird as got the October issue a few weeks back Confused

RosesInTheRain · 13/09/2013 20:07

MissElodie I do a present for all the staff and give it to the room leader. First year I just bought a box of posh biscuits, last year DS 'helped' me bake Christmas muffins and we took those in. Both have been well received. This year we'll bake something again I think.

ProtectiveMother · 13/09/2013 20:13

Just bought the RC helicopter so thanks for that to the poster!! (The amazon app really is dangerous!)

To whoever suggested those markers, they're for unglazed items so won't work on the mugs unfortunately. Pics will rub off. From a thread on here, I saw that mugs are often a no-no for teachers. I think making a Christmas decoration is a very sweet idea and I will be copying that one mercilessly as I always have 4 teachers or more to buy for and hate spending lots of money! :-)

Now I've got lots for my son but mainly lots of items that are worth about £30 each. So... this brings me nicely to my next question for you Mumsnet Christmas elves- does Santa HAVE to bring 1 'big' present and other small ones. This seems to be the accepted tradition. Discuss. ;-)

BeaWheesht · 13/09/2013 20:16

I've just got dd a didicar - they look fab and with a code from FB there's 25% off which equates to 12.50. You just need to like the FB page on a desktop sore.

the code expires today
