Sixth thread Shock but it’s OK we are allowed to get excited about Christmas now as it’s September

I’ve been a bit sporadic with this OP in what has been selected for adding in or not as there are too many links to add them all in, hope I haven’t forgotten anything major. Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren’t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. I haven’t checked all links to see if prices have altered since last thread so apologies if youg et very excited followed by disappointed. I will try to do better next time. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don’t work or if there’s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another Wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

Thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous Grin

JoJay Bymoonlight found the same polar animal mugs at Baker Ross for £1 less so £1.99 for 3 and they also do a box of 24 for £14.99

bymoonlight · 13/09/2013 16:27

Charlie and the chocolate factory arrived today and it is fab! A really beautiful book. Puff is also lovely!

I went into Boots today as they half price toys which still work under their 3 for 2 offer. They didn't have a lot left that was half price but I did get a Wibbly Pig puzzle, half price.. I also bought the small Lego pink box, which was £8 ish (cheaper than Amazon) and a Lego creator fire engine, which worked out free under the 3 for 2 offer.

I would advise anyone shopping instore with a smartphone to download the Amazon app (or similar) so you can compare instore prices with online prices just by scanning the barcode. So much of what I scanned instore was cheaper online, despite Boots saying it was 'half price'.

LippyDiDooDah · 13/09/2013 16:39

My Glamour mag free gift arrived today. Was expecting one set but 4 boxes of teeth whitening sets have arrived. Don't remember it being for 4 boxes but not complaining - anyone else get 4?

RobinBedRest · 13/09/2013 16:57

Woolies still have a sale online, here is a £1 Moshi Monsters water bottle, assume there's postage though, unless anyone knows any codes?

www.woolworths.co.uk/moshi-monsters-aluminium-bottle/1270966264.prd?sort=price,1&numProducts=100

Thrustbadger · 13/09/2013 16:57

Currently free postage on everything at toysrus. Gutted as I just paid £5 postage.

RhondaJean · 13/09/2013 17:16

My teeth whitening kit isn't here yet either!

Oreo was it you who ordered two women's fitness mags as well? Did they send you two elemis?

Wondering whether to complain DH hasn't has his...it occurred to me that both the elemis and the fat loss book I got both came to ME but the second sub was for him (cough) and the second mag came addressed to him so he hasn't had his gift yet.

I think.

Btw I can't get the Elle code to work either Sad

bymoonlight · 13/09/2013 17:22

I am trying to build up a lego collection. We only have a basic box of brick atm! If anyone sees any deals on Lego basic bricks or Lego creator I'd be grateful!

PoppyWearer · 13/09/2013 17:45

Innotab 2 now out of stock on the Smythson website - you beat me all to it!!!

If anyone sees it back in stock at that price, please can you tell me? Thanks

MissElodie · 13/09/2013 17:46

Thank you to whoever posted about the Squinkies - collected mine today and can't believe what good value they are!

I still don't really get what they are even now I've seen them now - but I guess I am just too old! Smile I'm hoping my DNiece (7) will appreciate them though! I got the campervan instead of the carriage too but can't complain!

issynoho · 13/09/2013 17:46

Thanks Elainey - have reserved 2 Octonauts cuddlies for DN.

Chocolateteabag · 13/09/2013 17:48

hmm the Elemis code ELEMISELLE01 worked for me on 2 lip balms initially. I then stupidly thought I'd have a look at what else I could buy - and they've taken it back off.

So now I shall buy nothing from them at all

PoppyWearer · 13/09/2013 17:49

Sorry, not Innotab 2, it's the Innotab 1 (without the number).

MissElodie · 13/09/2013 17:54

I know that people buy teachers gifts but can I ask - is it the done thing to buy presents for nursery staff? Its my DC's first Christmas at nursery so I wasn't sure and also would I just buy for their key worker? I don't want to make a faux pas with the present giving etiquette! Wink

SpottyTeacakes · 13/09/2013 17:56

Argh I hadn't even thought about nursery staff!

RobinBedRest · 13/09/2013 17:57

Just seen XWORK30, code for 30pc off The Works, not tried it yet though!

SpottyTeacakes · 13/09/2013 17:57

I will get dd to draw them each a picture I'm sure I read on here that teachers prefer personal touches.....!

RobinBedRest · 13/09/2013 18:00

It did say only full price items and not sets though.

LaTrucha · 13/09/2013 18:09

The last two years, close to Christmas, Thorntons have reduced hampers. I have got one for Dcs nursery. They were reduced to about £20 - which works out well between the number of staff they have there. I'd spend much more individually but it looks nice and all the stuff inside is individually wrapped so people can choose what they want. Seemed to work well.

MissElodie · 13/09/2013 18:09

oh yes Spotty I have read that too, personal touch preferred. Good idea...if you can get away with it! I don't think my DC's best artistic efforts are able to be given as presents at this stage unfortunately! I'm liking Friskys idea with reasties owl mugs!

ipswichwitch · 13/09/2013 18:10

spottyteacakes I got the retro sweets from groupon and mine came on Monday, in time for DHs birthday Wednesday. Box was slightly dented as it was only packed in a plastic envelope, but DH is too busy stuffing his face with the goodies to care!!
