girlwiththeyellowhats do we have any news yet?

Fifth thread already, how did that happen?! I?ve booked our panto tickets now so am feeling very festive Grin . Tips I learnt from the last thread number 24837 - wrap a huge cardboard box in christmas gift wrap to put all the rubbish on christmas day in rather than a bin bag so you don?t get a black plastic sack in all of the photos

Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren?t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don?t work or if there?s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another Wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

Thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous Grin

Tescos had a talking charley bear down to £3 today in store - sadly there was only one left, & his talking bit was missing from inside!

Boots have 3 for 2 on toys instore, but not much in our branch.

98percentchocolate · 04/09/2013 13:15

No sign of toy sale at boots I'm afraid. Saw a few toys that I want to get dd and just need the discount now!

DD's birthday is Feb, do toys often come into the jan sales? I'm looking at duplo and the fisher price tea set in particular.

cheesecheeseplease · 04/09/2013 13:17

what age would you say squinkies are for dns will be nearly 6&9

Penguinbeaver · 04/09/2013 13:18

Anyone who of any nice personalised Christmas gifts for a baby's first Christmas? Needs to be post-able overseas so rules out baubles etc. thanks

JustBecauseICan · 04/09/2013 13:20

cheese- squinkies would be perfect for 6 and 9 yr olds!

I am off to B and M this afternoon.

Just had an email from Photobox with 77% off photobooks. (maybe they have spotted I have been converted to albelli!)

ballinacup · 04/09/2013 13:23

Penguin I bought DNiece a beautiful framed print with her name from eBay. Paid about £17 but they are available cheaper. Just search for 'framed name print'.

Name prints.

iloveholidays · 04/09/2013 13:54

my samples have arrived for DP which I bought from eBay, really pleased with them. I've got 15 so not sure whether to do an advent calendar or just use for Christmas present. wonder whether DDs will question DP getting an advent calendar unless he does one for me!!! :)

SpottyTeacakes · 04/09/2013 14:03

Now you lot have made my buy a million books what will dd keep them in? We've got a sling book case but its already fairly full, any ideas?

Rugbylovingmum · 04/09/2013 14:44

Spotty Teacakes - we have a very full sling bookcase too and the rest of our books are in a big box under the bed. Every 2 or 3 weeks I swap some of the books over and DD1 gets really excited about the 'new' ones all over again. When they were all out I found we just read the same books over and over - this works much better.

I've just discovered this thread and it's brilliant - thank you!!! Just off to Argos to collect some things I found in the link you posted to the half price sale. I have a Merida doll for DD1, a Vtech microphone for DD2 and a couple of Disney Princess Magic Clip Mini Dolls for DD1 and my niece.

TheEndTisHere · 04/09/2013 14:48

SpottyTeacakes I made my DD's bed caddies very simple one here so easy to make your own if your a beginner.

Christmas hamper ideas here just swap from valentines day to Christmas and I just love these.

Maraki · 04/09/2013 15:39

Book people have Lego Brickmaster Ninjago for £5.99 and code BREEZE gives you 10% off, so thats £5.40!!!

Fab present for little boys I think. I added some Usborne chocolate cookbook (£2.99) and a few Jamie Olivers to get free delivery, most of my Xmas shopping done!

SpottyTeacakes · 04/09/2013 15:46

Oh I like that theonly not sure where it would go though? Hmm end of her bed maybe...lots of good ideas though thanks Smile

vix206 · 04/09/2013 15:49

I'm a bit Shock at the cardboard box thing for £13. We did this for DS with our own cardboard box for free. So easy to do yourself, and it's a great way to allow them to select and tidy away their own books Smile

NeverQuiteSure · 04/09/2013 15:54

Spotty Teacakes - I would second rotating the books. We have one of the bigbooklittlebook boxes linked to earlier in the bottom of DD's wardrobe (where she can reach it), another on higher up in her wardrobe (where I can reach but she can't) and a basket in the living room (mostly for library books and our newest acquisitions)

DS is a little older and has bookshelves in his room plus space for current favourites at the end of his bed.

I have recently started to hide all the seasonal ones away on the recieved wisdom of mumsnet!

ValiumQueen · 04/09/2013 15:58

Marking, and 12 pages to catch up! Wow!

Chocchip88 · 04/09/2013 16:04

lazzaroo my mugs have arrived from Magpie, I have carefully inspected 2 of them and can't spot why they are seconds so am very happy to give them as gifts.

chirpchirp · 04/09/2013 16:14

spotty being a true Pinterest addict I use Ikea spice racks for book shelves :-

TheWoollybacksWife · 04/09/2013 16:22

Thank you for posting about the Ruby and Ed slippers. I have just taken delivery of a pair of string mules and they are gorgeous. I am putting them away with great reluctance but thankful that I will not be on the receiving end of DH's rather traditional taste in M&S slippers this year.

SpottyTeacakes · 04/09/2013 16:24

Chirp that's perfect!! Thank you Thanks

craftynclothy · 04/09/2013 16:25

ilove I'm using the samples I bought for Dh (20 mixed) along with the lego man soaps and some plastic tat kids' aprty filler bits to do an advent calendar for Dh. I'm doing one for myself (ordered 20 samples for me too) and demanded politely suggested that Dh could buy me some embroidery threads to go in mine.

craftynclothy · 04/09/2013 16:26

Shock Chirp That is fantastic.

lazzaroo · 04/09/2013 16:29

Thanks chocchip might have to order later Smile

Also love the ikea spice rack bookshelf idea!

Patilla · 04/09/2013 16:45

We use one of these, one side for each child.

this is full price but they come up on eBay as both used and new
