The one after Robotgate, away in a manger it’s the 4th Christmassy bargain thread

Reastie · 24/08/2013 16:04

Away in a manger is a nod to girlwiththeyellowhats - we await a live birth thread on here Wink no pressure to call your DC Holly or Noel

I can?t believe we are on the fourth thread already I blame robotgate for using up the last thread Wink . Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren?t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don?t work or if there?s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another Wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

Thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous Grin

CoffeeOne · 01/09/2013 22:44

Thought this was a good little present for £5.31 make your own Morph plus DVD

500internalerror · 01/09/2013 22:57

We had that morph set - it's really nice actually! the kids still watch the dvd, although we lost the plasticine ages ago.

itsonlysubterfuge · 02/09/2013 07:28

For younger children, my mom wrapped our christmas PJ's in white wrapping paper one year and then we decorated the boxes before we opened them. My little sister and I thought it was a lot of fun and it stretches out the time it takes to open the present.

IJustNeedANap · 02/09/2013 07:56

Wow this has moved quick over the weekend! I've got some catching up to do

Oreocrumbs · 02/09/2013 08:02

Thank goodness Poppy! Was starting to think I'm the only one!!

I love that idea itsonlysubterfuge, will definitely be pinching that.

Who was looking for GHDs? The are some coming up on Amazon lightening deals at 10.00am. Don't know how much they will be until then but they are £109 AT the moment.

Oreocrumbs · 02/09/2013 08:10

£15-£30 Retro sweet hampers on Groupon

jamtoast12 · 02/09/2013 08:49

We don the hampers but really the only expense is the pjs which come from primark! I do a family hamper for all of us

Kids pjs - £4 primark which I'd get anyway
Sweets, chocolates, hot choc satchets, wine (me), baileys (dh)
Baths bombs
DVD (friend does them so free! Blush. )
Book (paid £1.50 on amazon)

So I just get cardboard box from tesco, chuck pjs in and all the rest is stuff i buy in my xmas food shopping (i just happen to present it as hamper!) etc and wrap the box in Xmas paper. I don put toys etc in as the Xmas hamper for me is not about that...its stuff to enjoy Xmas eve.

SpottyTeacakes · 02/09/2013 09:54

Thanks Oreo BIL and SIL sorted

craftynclothy · 02/09/2013 10:22

Oh FFS, you lot are driving me towards Xmas madness Grin. I'm now eyeing up the big cardboard box in the conservatory (Dh hasn't had chance to put it in the recycling) thinking I could wrap it up for wrapping paper rubbish.

JustBecauseICan · 02/09/2013 11:00

Got a book people catalogue through today...all the Thomas books about 4 million gerzillion of the buggers for £9.99 with a saving of £168. Should there be any child on the planet not to already have them!

(I remember getting dd one a week for seemingly years!)

sameoldIggi · 02/09/2013 11:02

Got an email about a 25% off sale at this silver jewellery retailer I have ordered from them in the past and they were nice quality, came in white boxes and would be a decent gift I think.

BeaWheesht · 02/09/2013 11:39

Early reader horrid Henry books, horrible history paperbacks, Avengers foam planes, Spider-Man water squirters and superhero squad DVDs all in pound world

SarahAndFuck · 02/09/2013 11:44

Anyone know of any deals for a four year old boy (will be five in March) who is mad about:

Trains, particularly Thomas.

Angry Birds

Ninja Turtles

Scooby Doo

Books and DVD's.

Board Games

I just got the Hot Wheels Angry Birds track for £14.99 from Argos, was cheaper than anywhere else, plus an extra pig car from ebay.

Also found a Ninja Turtles Frustration style pizza game from Avon at £8 instead of £16.99 from Amazon.

This code only works until tomorrow (Tuesday 3rd September) but gets you 15% off at the Caroline McGrath website - SEPT13VIP

sameoldIggi · 02/09/2013 12:28

Just because, I can only see a Thomas collection at £35 on the website, wonder what I'm doing wrong?

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin · 02/09/2013 12:32

My Charlie and the Chocolate Factory pop-up book has just arrived. It's absolutely brilliant. It's sealed in clear cellophane so don't want to open it fully, but it looks really thick. And it comes with 'your very own golden ticket'. It's hardback and a good, big size too. An absolute steal at £3.98. \link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/Charlie-Chocolate-Factory-Pop-Up-Book/dp/0141328878/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378121477&sr=8-1&keywords=charlie+factory+pop+up\Here's the link again.} Postage is around £2.50. But even then it's still a bargain, as other places are selling it for £15+

From the pictures on Amazon's site, the detail looks wonderful. I need to hide it at the back of the cupboard to stop me from giving it to dd at 3pm.

janx · 02/09/2013 12:44

We have that Charlie & chicolate factory book and it is lovely. That's a bargain outs price

Oreocrumbs · 02/09/2013 12:44

First come first served, here is another 20% off birthday club code for ELC. (From another one of my imaginary children Grin).

BBC2013-FRWD-7FBP-9FIN-WWDF

Valid for 3 months.

WaitMonkey · 02/09/2013 12:46

Lol Ewe, why might you give it to her at 3pm ? Grin

sameoldIggi · 02/09/2013 12:49

Sarahandfuck - lots of Thomas t-shirts and pyjamas for good prices (eg a pyjama/dressing gown/slipper set for £9.99) in Argos if he likes clothes as well as toys!

GaryBuseysTeeth · 02/09/2013 12:50

One of the lovely ladies on my antenatal thread linked the Fisher Price Jumperoo for £51.33 on Amazon atm (usually £100 or so).
I know they go for roughly £30-50 on eBay 2nd hand so worth it if you're going to resell after...and if you've got the space to store it until Christmas! Grin

sameoldIggi · 02/09/2013 12:53

Have just ordered the Charlie book. The golden ticket sold me! We found a Wonka bar in a sweet shop on holiday, ds was really convinced he might get a ticket to the factory.

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin · 02/09/2013 12:54

She gets out of school at 3. Smile And we're currently making our way through an ordinary paper back copy of the book at bedtimes, so I'm even more tempted to show her this amazing pop up one. Plus i want to tear of the cellophane and have a shot of all the pop ups. Grin

But it serves as a good dust sheet i suppose while it sits in the present cupboard for the next 4 months.

sameoldIggi · 02/09/2013 12:56

Hoping girlwiththeyellowhats is ok. Has anyone heard anything?
