The one after Robotgate, away in a manger it’s the 4th Christmassy bargain thread

Away in a manger is a nod to girlwiththeyellowhats - we await a live birth thread on here Wink no pressure to call your DC Holly or Noel

I can?t believe we are on the fourth thread already I blame robotgate for using up the last thread Wink . Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren?t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don?t work or if there?s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another Wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

Thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous Grin

This arrived today, looks good for less than£10

VoldemortsNipple · 30/08/2013 22:46

Oreo I presume the seller makes them in her kitchen and doesn't have the space to keep a lot of stock. Ds2 has eczema and has to be careful what he washes with but they would probably be ok for hand soap. I noticed she had some butterfly ones too.

Chocolateteabag · 30/08/2013 22:50

DS has Boden pj's - one of the twin pack jersey ones and one with the brushed cotton buttons and waffle top - both have lasted him ages and washed vv well (he's 2.5 so they get a lot of washing)

Stella and dot sale has some bargains - lovely necklace down to £20 from £55. P&p is £4 though. Worth a look as their boxes are nice so make good presents.

DTisMYdoctor · 30/08/2013 22:55

RhondaJean - keep an eye on Amazon for lego jabbas hut palace. I posted a couple of times in earlier threads about them selling it for £79.99 but I see it's much more now. The current sellers are all third party stockists though, so it may be that Amazon get it back in to sell at that price again.

RhondaJean · 30/08/2013 22:56

Fab thank you dt.

ValiumQueen · 30/08/2013 23:05

Thank you MrsPoirot Thanks

zipzap · 30/08/2013 23:14

RhondaJean If you're near an Ikea, they often have very cheap fleece blankets/throws for £4ish, including a bright green which looks very similar to the colour that you see on TV when they are showing green screen stuff being filmed and you can see the green.

(I know because I have several of them in assorted colours that I used as impromptu curtains when I moved into my house from a flat that only had 3 windows and I suddenly needed lots of curtains. I may or may not still have several still at some windows several years later as I still haven't found curtain fabric I like BlushGrin)

Alternatively I have recently bought on eBay a subbuteo rugby pitch without the box for about a fiver - the rugby ones aren't made any more but you might be able to get a cheaper football version - they are essentially a big bit of green felt with a pitch printed on one side and the other side left untouched. Bet that would also work pretty well...

RhondaJean · 30/08/2013 23:16

That is fab zip zap.

Of everything it's probably the one I would like to get as it encourages creativity etc.

I think I know the fleece, my friend has it, and although it's a wee trip to ikea it'd worth it.

ShoopShoop · 30/08/2013 23:24

Long term lurker popping in to say thanks so much for all the bargainous suggestions so far. I'm slightly bankrupted by everything and DH thinks I've lost the plot doing Christmas shopping in August.....but never mind!

So far have got Playmobil school, Zoobles car thing, duplo cakes (was on my wish list for AGES), Christmas finger puppets, loads of Crayola stuff, pillow pet from The Works and tonight's latest purchase - loads of lovely mugs from Magpie!!

Oh.....and literally stacks and stacks of books from Book People and WHSmith Blush.

We live in a shoebox and I'm seriously running out of places to stash stuff!!

Thanks so much everyone Thanks

RockySpeed · 30/08/2013 23:30

LOVE the mugs! That's all DS's Godparents sorted in one go!

chirpchirp · 31/08/2013 00:04

Ohh, the mugs! The mugs!! Thanks poppy. I want them all. ALL!

zipzap · 31/08/2013 00:26

RhondaJean You can occasionally get kits for stop motion animation quite cheaply, albeit without the video camera but with the software and other assorted gubbins. I know they've had them at Costco and I've seen them elsewhere, not sure about the green screen being included too. It's often done with plasticine stuff for making the animals but even if she didn't use it, it would be good for the basic stuff.

Freemilk · 31/08/2013 00:26

Can I ask what is a good price to pay for pillow pets? (and if Nyone has seen any good offers the works only have 1 left now)

Also where the crayola bargains were?

Freemilk · 31/08/2013 00:27

Sorry missed off the thanks!

PoppyWearer · 31/08/2013 03:16

I have also seriously indulged in the mugs, some for my fantasy future kitchen Blush, yes DH will kill me, and some for gifts.

Keeping everything crossed that they turn out to be nice!!!

supermariossister · 31/08/2013 07:57

home and bargains had pillow pets for around 4.99 if I remember rightly we got penguin and unicorn last year. definatly worth that price they were really soft

lucamom · 31/08/2013 08:08

For lego fans - Amazon have the Lego City excavator/transporter set reduced from £45 to £20:

www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO-City-4203-Excavator-Transport/dp/B007456TMW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1377932765&sr=8-2&keywords=lego

shoppingbagsundereyes · 31/08/2013 08:09

I paid full price for a pillow pet the week before Xmas last year, even so ws worth every penny. It's by far the most used of all dd's presents. Amazon have them for £9.99 today. I'd grab one quick if I were you.
Just asked dd if she wants a new one this year. She looked at me as if I were mad 'I have Uni, I don't need another pillow pet'.

lucamom · 31/08/2013 08:11

And a good reduction on this lego space buggy, good stocking filler:

www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO-City-3365-Space-Buggy/dp/B0042HOTR2/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1377932973&sr=8-14&keywords=lego

WaitMonkey · 31/08/2013 08:13
