The one after Robotgate, away in a manger it’s the 4th Christmassy bargain thread

Away in a manger is a nod to girlwiththeyellowhats - we await a live birth thread on here Wink no pressure to call your DC Holly or Noel

I can?t believe we are on the fourth thread already I blame robotgate for using up the last thread Wink . Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren?t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don?t work or if there?s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another Wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

Thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous Grin

Me too! I've just realised a shop in town sells their stuff and it is loely. I have a fox tin on my desk and my work tea in an owl caddy. Now I want the birds - all of them!

PoppyWearer · 30/08/2013 20:05

I want the birds too! But they are not in the sale and therefore we must not talk about them/tempt ourselves on this thread. Wink

VoldemortsNipple · 30/08/2013 20:16

I've have also just spent a fortune on the complete alphabet mug collection and coasters. [Blush] Although I plan to give quite a few away as presents filled with some posh tea or coffee. The cup for my brother is actually perfect. His name begins with A, the picture on the A cup is an anchor and he works on the Mersey Ferries. [Smile]

I feel guilty for corrupting you all...Grin

Murtette · 30/08/2013 20:28

Why didn't I call into Sainsburys tonight? DD suddenly loves all things Hello Kitty. It is a brand I dislike though.
Does John Lewis ever do offers on its own brand clothes? I don't recall having ever seen any. There are various bits I'd like to get in there for the DC

MrsHerculePoirot · 30/08/2013 20:29

valium sainsvurys do click and collect I did it for the George Foreman grill someone suggested earlier in the thread...

Slainte · 30/08/2013 20:29

Don't feel too bad Poppy, it doesn't take much to get us to spend money. All in the name of bargains of course. Grin

Oreocrumbs · 30/08/2013 20:38

I will not look at the mugs. I will not look at the mugs. I will not look at the mugs.

I must be good. Went real life shopping today and I did not get one single bargain. I did buy lots of full price things. Bad Oreo.

To atone for such bad bargaining, I have made a very cheap little gift set up for Christmas for a little one.

Hungry caterpillar book £1.75 and the caterpillar soft toy I linked to before Here (buy from the side bar for £3.50. Buying it with the book gets free del).

VoldemortsNipple · 30/08/2013 20:39

I've received lots of samples which I ordered from eBay today, for DDs advent calendar. I can't wait to make it up. I'm also thinking of making one for my mum and sister and another one for work. I work in an all female workplace and I know they will appreciate the gesture Smile Has anybody got any ideas what I can put in calendars for ds1 (14) and ds2 (11). I think I could get away with filling some days with sweets or hot chocolate sachets and maybe a lynx bullet, but what else?

PoppyWearer · 30/08/2013 20:51

The Snail and the Whale £1.75 on Amazon.

BeaWheesht · 30/08/2013 20:51

I'm wanting the elc rosebud dolls house and furniture sets if anyone sees any deals..

Freemilk · 30/08/2013 20:52

These look like cute little gift boxes, thinking they might be good for advent calendars....

here

VoldemortsNipple · 30/08/2013 21:22

Look at these tiny little Lego men soaps only £1·99 free delivery. They would be perfect for advent calendars. eBay

starjules · 30/08/2013 21:26

Oh that reminds me VoldemortsNipple, lego mini kits were cheap in sainsburys too.

RhondaJean · 30/08/2013 21:32

Right after discussion with dd2 I am looking for bargains on one or more of the following...

Monstr high high school playset

iPod touch/kindle fire hd/ monster high tablet

Lego jabba the hut palace

Erm a green screen? She wants to make animated films using her my little ponies and add in backgrounds - apparently it needs special cloth, lighting and software...

If I'm not back for a bit, I'll be too busy sorting out the remortgage Confused

Nah seriously she won't get it all but if I get one or maybe two as a good bargain I'd be delighted.

VoldemortsNipple · 30/08/2013 21:34

Ooh ilove those reindeer ones are very cute. I think I would just have one each out for the dcs and put one gift in daily Smile

craftynclothy · 30/08/2013 21:39

Thanks Voldemort. I'd been looking at similar soaps on Etsy but the postage cost (even from the UK sellers) was putting me off. Have bought 12, which worked out better value at £2.99. They'll go in a few advent calendar pockets Smile

iloveholidays · 30/08/2013 21:41

That's a good idea VoldemortsNipple. I was thinking of getting the other ones I linked to and hanging them down the banisters. Or maybe glue them to a canvas.

Lego soaps are cute. Ebay searching tonight:)

JustBecauseICan · 30/08/2013 21:45

The snail and the whale is one of the most gorgeous books I remember reading with dd....

lilylaville check the moneysavingexpert site under photo offers for books and canvas. I think Tesco, Albelli, Photoworld, Bonusprint/truprint and snapfish are all on there with various offers. I had an email from photobox offering loads off but it expired yesterday and I didn't have time to do it, which is a shame - never mind, there'll be more.

Photoworld canvas offer ends tomorrow I think.

Oreocrumbs · 30/08/2013 21:46

Good find on the mini soaps! They do a big lego man too which is £2.99, I'm going to order a couple for stocking fillers.

Silly question perhaps, but I notice it said the soaps are made to order - will they keep until after Christmas? I presume so, I mean they are soap, but just thought I'd ask a responsible adult (if there are any!!)
