The one after Robotgate, away in a manger it’s the 4th Christmassy bargain thread

Reastie · 24/08/2013 16:04

Away in a manger is a nod to girlwiththeyellowhats - we await a live birth thread on here Wink no pressure to call your DC Holly or Noel

I can?t believe we are on the fourth thread already I blame robotgate for using up the last thread Wink . Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren?t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don?t work or if there?s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another Wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

Thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous Grin

The book people lunchtime deal today is buy one get one free - from a selection of nearly 100 books.

From now until 2pm...

ValiumQueen · 30/08/2013 12:37

The THANKS for free delivery at Book People is not working with the sale today Hmm

Reastie · 30/08/2013 12:48

From Robotgate to Vertbaudetgate Wink

My Women's Fitness mag arrived this morning but no free gift as yet. Has anyone got the elemis bath thing yet?

Went into my local M&S home and they had a little end of sale section with some fab reductions. Got a couple of autograph towels down from £8 to £1!

OP posts:
itsonlysubterfuge · 30/08/2013 12:58

The THANKS free delivery from the Book People, worked for me today, maybe you can only use it once?

ValiumQueen · 30/08/2013 12:58

I still bought 4 sets of little mouse books for £12.49 delivered so I am happy Grin great for the present cupboard. The page has different books each time you refresh. I thought I was going mad at first. Not all different, but I guess they are adding extras as stocks run out.

ValiumQueen · 30/08/2013 12:59

ItsOnly quite possibly as I used it on an order a couple of weeks ago. I was wondering that.

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin · 30/08/2013 13:12

Reastie My mag came, too, but no Elemis as of yet. It said it can take up to 30 days from ordering, so I'll give them until mid-September before i start querying.

LaTrucha · 30/08/2013 13:20

Mag here and no Elemis too.

Snowgirl1 · 30/08/2013 13:29

Magazine (just in time to take on hol to read Smile) but not Elemis. I hope it does turn up as I've bought the Elemis cream that was on sale in House of Fraser to make a little gift set!

BuffyFairy · 30/08/2013 13:38

I've been raiding Sainsburys too. 70% off Peppa Pig theme park train ride, mini puzzles and Thomas / Peppa plates/ bowls. 1/2 price duplo sets inc cakes (thanks Oreo for the amazon link earlier) and still 1/3 off some Lego sets. Bogof on my little pony.

My WHSmith book sets arrived. Took a while but got a great collection. They put 12 books in the 10 book pre-school bundle, the toddler picture book bundle included mini libraries as 1 book and most of the 'That's Not My' books are ones we don 't have. Will use any duplicates as presents.

Complained to Vertbaudet via FB so will see how that goes.

Need to stop buying stuff for DD Grin This thread has been great as her birthday is next month so doing combo Bday / Xmas bargain hunting. I think she's got twice as much rather than saved me anything Blush

RockySpeed · 30/08/2013 13:42

20% off all trunki things in boots. Just bought a GORGEOUS trunki paddlepack swimming bag and a matching crab purse for 19.98 (backpack alone should be 19.99)

PLUS if you are a parenting club member you get double the advantage card points! I'm dead chuffed Grin

(Sorry there's no links but I've no idea how to do them!)

iloveholidays · 30/08/2013 13:55

The offer codes you used appeared on a voucher site with out our permission to adverts them. Which has meant that customers that should have been eligible for the gift didn’t receive there gifts which is not acceptable.

The emails were only sent to existing customers so we have to verify that the new customer who also received the email in error are genuine and not new customers who have taken the codes from the website as we are not obligated to send out an alternative free gift for there orders.

I am sorry that you have deleted the email but with out the email I can’t send another gift. I would recommend checking your trash folder to see if it has been completely deleted.

iloveholidays · 30/08/2013 13:56

my reply from vertbaudet....

GiraffesMum · 30/08/2013 14:13

Hello Kitty Cool Cardz are half price, so £8.99 in store at Sainsburys at the moment. My DD6 loves them. This link shows them online but they are more expensive to click and collect. Next best price is £14 at amazon.

WaitMonkey · 30/08/2013 14:20

How rude of them. I didn't get the email, I found the code on the internet. I placed two orders. One arrived last week with the free gift I ordered. The other order I placed also arrived last week with the sports bag. I complained twice. Eventually I received a reply saying, they are checking what free gifts they have available and would get back to me. Then this morning I received a dispatch email. My replacement free gift arrived this morning. It's the crate of wooden veg. It's lovely with a couple of little knives to chop the veg, also lovely, they are the type with Velcro in the middle. So while I didn't get a choice of gift, like others I did get a really good quality gift. I can not understand how they can treat people differently. Hmm

WaitMonkey · 30/08/2013 14:24

ilove I won't be using them again anyway. I think it's really wrong that they allowed the code to carry on being used for day's after the free gift ran out. I also can't understand why they can't send out individual, one time only codes, if they don't want other people using them.
Carry on your fight, good luck.

WaitMonkey · 30/08/2013 14:26

Oh, and I was a new customer

MooseyMoo · 30/08/2013 14:43

Klaxon...Boden codes stacking. They have 15% off selected tops and bottoms. You can use MCES to get 20% off as well.

There are some pyjamas included for girls. Think I will try them for DD. £14 seems v expensive but the next ones I got looked awful after first wash. Anyone had Boden pjs before - worth the ££?

chimchar · 30/08/2013 14:51

Dh just picked up a fab lego marvel book with a batman mini figure for £2.99 in home bargains.

same as this one

Also, a cool big wooden elastic band rifle...perfect for bigger kids. 'twas £4.

supermariossister · 30/08/2013 14:52

works order came today, they are lovely. not impressed with ds dinosaur activity book no colour in it, no stickers ect so will probably find something different but the rest are great for 10 pound

FairyJen · 30/08/2013 14:57

Not on the high street has an extra 10% off items with code 10SHOP until midnight night tomorrow.

Not had chance to look yet but may help some of you fellow bargain hunters!

iloveholidays · 30/08/2013 15:10

getting fed up of it to be honest, can't believe how badly they're treating customers, you'd think they'd want to honour new customers in the hope they shop again

iloveholidays · 30/08/2013 15:12

I have sent another reply though Grin

CatAmongThePigeons · 30/08/2013 15:17

Moosey I can't get them to work on 'sale' items. Darn it.

PoppyWearer · 30/08/2013 15:23

Bargainous letters-of-the-alphabet mugs (seconds) for £2.55 each.

Shipping is not cheap at £4.95 but might work out if you buy lots?

I love the designs by Magpie and covet them all....I wish I had the balls to clear out my mug cupboard and buy the A-Z set of 26 mugs for £66, down from over £200! That would be a FABULOUS gift for someone (meeeeee!).
