So the spreadsheets have been completed, the matches have gone out, all is done. Gin

We're all waiting with bated breath. If you're a recipient and you'd like to pop back on here when your gift arrives to thank your donor then do remember to look out for your MN code which will have been included in the address on the packaging and include it in your post. The person who sent the gift will then be able to know it's you.

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Ho Ho Ho!

Oh thank you. Yes, I have some small things but something else would be good too.

SchroSawMummyRidingSantaClaus · 01/12/2012 13:36

Okay, going to get other bits for my parcel today. :) I have a small boy to buy for and I am totally stumped.

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 01/12/2012 14:46

I bought my gifts today, it was fun buying some someone else's kids Xmas Smile. I was a bit stumped buying for one of the DCs which is a girl, as I have a DS so I've got no idea what girls are into, so hope I got it right. Just want to ad a few bits and will probably post on Tuesday.

Those of you who've posted already, did you put your address on the back of the parcel? I usually put my details on the back of any post in case it gets lost or undelivered but not sure if I should for this - what do you think?

RabbitsMakeGOLDBaubles · 01/12/2012 14:50

Depends on how small. I've seen loads - Octonauts, Mike the Knight, Fireman Sam, Ben 10, Spiderman, Marvel Heroes, Moshi Monsters, Dr Who, Hex Bugs, Jokes, Science Experiments, Dinosaurs, Space Travel, Horrid Henry, Football, Lego, Meccano, Horrible Histories. Spilling my brain here, lemme know if you want me to stop, lol.

I've had trouble with my little boy, so put a lot of thought into it hehe. Managed to get him Secret Seven books 1-10 in a second hand shop.

Secret Santa MN049

Oh my gosh, I've never known such kindness! When I was nominated for the Christmas appeal I felt a bit embarrassed as I don't feel I deserve anythingBlush However, I also felt really blessed as money is tight at the moment and anything at all would have been so so appreciatedSmile

I can't believe what I have received today, I actually cried! Beautifully wrapped presents for my sons ds1 + ds2 and gifts for baby ds3 too!
As well as the presents we also received socks! I had informed mnhq when asked for ideas that the boys were short on socks, well, I don't think we'll need to buy socks for a long time!! Loads of lovely socks for all 3 of themSmile There's also a lovely Christmas DVD for the DC!!
As if that wasn't enough my secret Santa sent a lovely Christmassy Yankee candle for me and, my favourite bit of all.. A beautiful Harrods gingerbread house teabag tidy!!! It's gorgeous, I've never even been to Harrods!
I feel so so blessed today, thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart SmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmile

Who ever you are, I hope you have an absolutely amazing ChristmasGrin

Galena · 01/12/2012 16:06

Those of you unsure about return address, you should be able to put your initials, the house number and postcode. If the parcel needs to be returned, the post office should be able to return it that way. Up to you though whether that's still too much info!

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 01/12/2012 17:07

Am looking through my cupboards to see if I can find a couple extra things for the MNer to add into the main present for the nominated DD, hope this is ok. Can't afford Harrods standard tho, heck, feel bad if my recipient doesn't get much Xmas Blush

JustFabulous · 01/12/2012 17:26

Sorry if I did the wrong thing, SoupDragon Blush.

SoupDragon · 01/12/2012 17:51

Oh no, you didn't do the wrong thing - it was nice to be nominated. It would just be hugely inappropriate for me to accept :)

Fillybuster · 01/12/2012 17:51

I just did the 'ebay standard' thing of putting my house number and postcode on the back - I don't think you even need initials. That seems fairly anonymous....although given that I idiotically signed the cards I stuck inside (from filly, not RL name) I really hope that no-one decides to turn detective.... Grin

SecretSanta049 · 01/12/2012 18:23

Gosh I only posted that yesterday! Believe me, it was a joy to do.

I've never been to Harrods either but I saw it online, thought it was so pretty and so reasonable when it arrived that I ordered a couple more for special presents. Just thought I had better point that out! The local courier was surprised to be delivering Harrods boxes to my estate too Grin

So, so happy, has made my week Smile

Merry Christmas!

SecretSantaMN086 · 01/12/2012 18:27

MN086, I posted your parcel today so it should arrive soon.

I hope so much that you like your presents Xmas Smile

Have a lovely Christmas XXX

ParceQueJeLeVauxBien · 01/12/2012 18:28

I had a very enjoyable shopping trip buying bits and pieces for my recipient. Just have to post them off now. Xmas Smile I love this!

RecipientMN194 · 01/12/2012 20:13

For Secret Santa MN194, I am sending you a heartfelt and great big 'Thank you!' from myself and my DD, your gifts to us are so appreciated. I have had a cheeky peek at the beautifully wrapped gifts you have sent for DD as I wanted to thank you and I can tell you now that she will LOVE them! I LOVE them! Grin And thank you also for the Amazon voucher, you could not have sent a better gift, it's just perfect. You can be sure that your presents did indeed make me smile and your lovely message brought a lump to my throat, thank you so so much for your kindness and generosity.

I would like to wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas and an equally wonderful New Year Smile X
