So the spreadsheets have been completed, the matches have gone out, all is done. Gin

We're all waiting with bated breath. If you're a recipient and you'd like to pop back on here when your gift arrives to thank your donor then do remember to look out for your MN code which will have been included in the address on the packaging and include it in your post. The person who sent the gift will then be able to know it's you.

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Ho Ho Ho!

To the lovely lady who sent my DDs and I presents, thank you from the bottom of my heart. We haven't opened them yet - we are going to wait until Christmas Day. The girls were thrilled to get presents through the post (as was I!). Sorry for not posting thank you sooner. We were out when the parcel was due to be delivered on Saturday and the first opportunity I had to collect it was yesterday.

Thank you again and I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a great 2013. Thanks

MN044 I am your Secret Santa for parcel No2 that arrived this afternoon, the one with the letter in. How lovely for you to receive two parcels on the same day Xmas Smile.

I saw the message you posted above in response to receiving your first parcel and I'm sorry I mentioned a DP in my letter to you - I had no idea that you are a lone parent, so please accept these for the oversight Thanks. I'm also a lone parent so please know that you're not alone and I know, to an extent, how you feel. I really hope that you and your lovely children have a fantastic Christmas and that 2013 continues to get better and better for you. I'll raise a Wine to you on Christmas Day.

Your Secret Santa gift was posted first class on Saturday. Hopefully you should receive it in the next day or two. I'll be watching this thread with fingers crossed that it arrives safely. It's an envelope rather than than a parcel so hopefully it's just held up with all the Christmas cards.

MN132 here. A big wave and hello to my Secret Santa. Xmas Smile

Your parcel has just arrived (delivered by a very harassed Parcel Force driver). What a lovely box of goodies you have sent for me and the DCs! It's been a horrible few years for me and DS2 has been through so much with his chemo. The last 3 years have been a blur.

Anyway, thank you so much for your time and trouble. I'm going back to have another dig through the box and hide some of my favourite things before the DCs get to them.

(Also, big thanks to the MNer who nominated me). Xmas Grin

Hello! I have already been on to thank my secret santa for my parcel (which I have opened-norty-and found lots of lovely and very welcome things inside Grin so thanks again for that!

THEN...yesterday the lady postie gave me another parcel-one wrapped present, no card or MN number (are we supposed to have the secrect santa number, cos I only know mine? At least I think it's mine!)

Anyway, I have assumed wrapped thingy is for ds, so will put it under the tree, which will be lovely as his pile was going to look a bit sparse after I had done the stocking Smile. Thank You mystery MNetter!

I can't WAIT to send a parcel to someone next year!

MN121 here

I can't be bothered to name change, because I am so grateful and thankful for Dds present, and my voucher that I want to thank you personally. Dds present is currently sat underneath the tree, and I can't wait to open it Grin And my voucher may well be spent on another Cath Kidston mug Blush. This year has been truly dreadful, and extremely stressful. And just knowing that someone somewhere, has deemed you worthy to receive is very humbling. So thank you from the bottom of my heart

Thanks

Am completely overwhelmed now. Another parcel arrived this morning! Gifts for the dcs and more for me! Am so looking forward to opening them, but like the suspense, so am saving them for now.

Thank you very very much to my second Secret Santa! You are sooo kind and thoughtful. (And I love panettone, which is the only bit of the present I've seen so far!)

Things are difficult at the moment; Christmas is going to be hard (emotionally). You and my ss from yesterday have brightened my days. Thanks

Dear MN125,

Thank you for your absolutely lovely post! I'm not a mumsnet regular (and don't know how to change my name), but this site has helped me through many a sleepless night with my 4th child and I am so grateful that I can be a secret Santa this year to a deserving mumsnetter.

There will be a delivery just for you on Friday. Have a lovely christmas xx

I'm so glad the parcel reached you in one piece. I had planned to post it much earlier Xmas Blush. I hope the gifts are ok, I tried to choose things I would like. The DVD is a christmassy one btw, just in case you wanted to give it to your dcs before the big day.

Merry Christmas from your second not really a secret now Santa xx

Thanks MOS :) I was very shocked to be nominated.

Gonerogue, I'm glad you saw my post and know it arrived! And it's lovely to put a name to your generosity. DD asked who the card was from (gifts were of course taken straight upstairs to avoid nosy DCs!) and "a lovely person from the Internet" didn't really satisfy her curiosity :o

TisI - I'm so glad you have received your presents. You have not had 5 Santas(! - sorry!).

The book and the box that arrived today are both from me. The box has a little something in for you to enjoy with the book, but the book was the main presenty bit for you (apologies that it is not more exciting).

I hope the DCs like their gifts - I tried to think what my little boy and his friends would like, and then what I would have liked when I was the age of your DDs... They aren't terribly exciting but they are sent with love.

It was nice to know who you were before I sent them, as (apologies for stalker tendancies) I had a little look to find out some more about you. We haven't really come across each other, I don't think, but it sounds like you have had such a tough time of it.

You are so brave for coming through all this. The only way is up.

I was kind of hoping that your DDs might allow you the odd half an hour to go upstairs, relax and do some reading while they entertain the nippers...

Anyway, I hope that you all have a very merry Christmas together.

Another parcel was delivered to me yesterday, although I think my neighbour may have taken it in earlier in the week.

Thank you so much secret santa number 2. You are so very kind to think of my family. The gifts for my dds are lovely, I haven't let them open them yet. They are under the tree waiting until Christmas day. They know that a wonderful stranger has sent them gifts and have asked me to tell you that "you are awesome" Xmas Grin

I can't wait to open my presents, I have resisted the temptation to shake or poke them so far. I don't want to ruin the surprise.

As I said upthread, this really is a wonderful place, I'm proud to be a very small part of. I wish you and your family a peaceful christmas. Thanks

My children were allowed to open their presents today, it's my DSs seventh birthday and they are both away as of tomorrow until January, so I thought it would be nice to sit together and do it this morning. I love my crafty stuff, thank you so much SS156 and my children were both squealing when they saw stuff, so I assume they liked it. I love the little wooden village, and luckily lego too as I always end up making them for DS who has the attention span of a gnat. It was a lovely day today, really warmed my heart, and I still have a voucher for the sales to get them presents for their Christmas at home with me which will be later on. I will try to stick on some pictures, but not tonight as I am having to pack for DD, we catch a train tomorrow.

Dear SS111,

DS and I opened the gifts this morning, as we are going away this afternoon! I showed him the box yesterday, he was completely astonished that a stranger would send us something!

I suspect I was nominated in part due to passing on various of ds's clothes and toys over the years and it's something I encourage him to participate in, so he really felt that he had "earned" his share of the things, which gave me a warm, fuzzy glow. He has asked if we can "keep being nice to people next year". :)

All of the gifts were clearly carefully thought out and the kind of small treats that I never think to buy for myself. I particularly like the socks, as ds helpfully pointed out, it will be nice for me to have some without holes in! Ds particularly liked the small box with the snake, and the jet balls, which have been counted, re-counted, categorised by colour, arranged in the shape of a solar system - and will now be used for endless games of indoor cricket! We are going to take the Xmas candle with us to add some festive cheer to Xmas day!

Hope you have a great Xmas, and all the best for 2013.

Recipient 111
