So the spreadsheets have been completed, the matches have gone out, all is done. Gin

We're all waiting with bated breath. If you're a recipient and you'd like to pop back on here when your gift arrives to thank your donor then do remember to look out for your MN code which will have been included in the address on the packaging and include it in your post. The person who sent the gift will then be able to know it's you.

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Ho Ho Ho!

Just sent the first part of mine too. I hope they receive it very soon. Just need to pull my finger out and finish packing up the second parcel for them...
I feel all warm and fuzzy (could that not be turned into a smiley MNHQ?)

Mine arrived today, I just need to work out how to package it up and then I'll get it sent out. Methinks bubblewrap will be needed and hopefully it gets there in one piece as it looks really pretty at the moment :)

Well, I have been feeling down and depressed for longer than I can remember but today I went shopping for pressies and I enjoyed it so much I can't say.

It's been a looong time since I've had a baby to buy for (and something for mum of course!) and it was really, really fun.

I just hope so much that what I got is ok.

Will take it to post office at weekend.

Aww, just checked my email. I nominated someone utterly deserving and lovely and have had no confirmation (not able to buy this year). I have seen else where she has been matched, so will be receiving something.

I can only guess she's been nominated by someone else as well?

I am a bit nervous-will be posting mine tomorrow and just hope it will be ok.I have spent same on each dc but big one looks much less than little one!
Have put in pack of wrapping paper so recipient can enjoy wrapping stuff herself :)
Have wrapped hers though.

I am buying for 4 dc so spread a bit thin but really really loved doing it :)

Report
SoftKittyWarmKitty · 29/11/2012 22:18

I originally said I'd buy for one DC because I had a spare present ready to send but my match has three DC - does that mean a different donor is buying for her other two DC? It's the first year I've taken part so I'm not totally sure how it all works but sod it, I'm going to buy them each a little gift Smile. Then if someone else also sends them a gift they'll have more to open. DS can help me shop this weekend.

Marking place.

I have got for the kids and Mnetter but not for a dp/dh as don't know if this recipient has one. Hope that's ok and there won't be a very left out feeling family member.

all this talk of exciting parcels and packages etc, erm, I think I offered to send vouchers.

Are vouchers ok?

Does my 'receiver' know and is happy to get vouchers.

I'm being stupid here aren't I? Blush

Are we supposed to get a confirmation if we nominated someone? I nominated someone. If she said no, do we still get to know? I'm full of festive questions. I think she might have said no...

Do we find out if our nominee has been chosen/matched?

I think I might have been too specific about my donations they have to go to MNHQ not an individual Blush.

can't believe some recipients already have something!

PeskyRat, vouchers are fine - for some MNers, they will just help pay for a nice Christmas dinner, or allow them to buy something extra for their child that they know he/she will want.

Those of you asking about if you nominated someone, I don't think you do get confirmation about whether or not they are receiving. I think everyone who was nominated got an email asking for some more information. Then there were lots of people who offered to buy something (apparently there are usually more givers than getters) so some recipients have been matched with more than one Secret Santa. Some people offered to give without nominating anyone, etc. If you nominated someone and they chose not to fill in the information, then I guess that's up to them.

Sorry, that all made sense in my head - I hope it makes sense on screen!

Hello. And yes, EVERYONE who was nominated has been asked to give us their details so they can receive a gift.

Some people were a bit bashful, so we sat on them until they coughed up their details.

One or two couldn't be persuaded, though. However hard we tried.

So, yes, with one or two exceptions, everyone who was nominated will be receiving a gift.

Just out of curiosity Helen, could we nominate folk who work at MN?

Report
AllIWant85 · 30/11/2012 12:24

I'm ready to send my parcels but I don't really want to put my return address. Is there a mumsnet address I could put as the return address so if it can't be delivered it would be returned to HQ?
