So the spreadsheets have been completed, the matches have gone out, all is done. Gin

We're all waiting with bated breath. If you're a recipient and you'd like to pop back on here when your gift arrives to thank your donor then do remember to look out for your MN code which will have been included in the address on the packaging and include it in your post. The person who sent the gift will then be able to know it's you.

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Ho Ho Ho!

FarelyKnuts · 17/12/2012 07:05

Try that again!!!
Mrs De Vere ... I am so glad your parcel arrived safely.

BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 17/12/2012 09:38

Those of you worried about whether your gift has arrived - can I just say that your recipient has no idea of their MN recipient number until the gift arrives.

BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 17/12/2012 09:39

So if you are concerned, best to contact MNHQ directly

MN050- I received my parcel this morning, my third! I completely wasnt expecting it so it was a lovely surprise after being up half the night with 5 week old dd.

My bit of the parcel came undone during delivery so Im currently eating the contents Xmas Grin

Thank you times a million! My ds is bouncing off the walls wanting to open his presents, he'll be so so excited come Christmas day!

You are a very kind and generous MNetter and I wish you a very happy Christmas and New Year Xmas Smile

SantaSandyMumsnet · 17/12/2012 11:37

Hi there all you lovely MNers,

We want to say it again and again, because you are all such a special and truly generous bunch. Thank you, thank you to everyone who's taken part in the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal!

You can see from the many posts on this wonderful thank you thread that you've taken part in something hugely, wonderfully heart-warming.

Some of you, understandably, are concerned about whether your parcel has turned up at it's correct destination. We completely get that, but we feel we can't chase folks about this.

We're sure most, if not all, will eventually get a chance to post their thanks on the thread.

We hope you all have a very happy, healthy and merry Christmas!

Fillybuster · 17/12/2012 12:27

MN069 - I've just posted a second parcel to you, hopefully it will arrive in time. Just a few bits for the older 3 dcs = I didn't want them to feel left out!

MerryLindor · 17/12/2012 12:29

SS124
I received your parcel this morning, to the utter bemusement of the postman. I have put the presents under the tree to open at Xmas and trying to resist shaking and prodding them. Thank you so much for sending these gifts.

And to the person who nominated me - I was honoured to have been nominated. Thank you so much - it means a lot to me.

LittleTownofBethleHelenMumsnet · 17/12/2012 13:34

@triplets

Please may ask ? Is the person who donates to you not necessarily the person who nominated you?

Of course you can ask! And no, it's actually quite unlikely that the person who nominates someone is the person who also donates to that same someone.

Think of it as though we put all the nominated names in one hat, and all the donating names in another hat. Then we draw out a name from each hat to make a match. And then draw out another name from each hat to make another match, and so on...

SchroSawMummyRidingSantaClaus · 17/12/2012 13:49

Hi Sandy, I sent an email the other day. Can you tell me if you have looked into it yet please? Bit confused.

SecretSantaMN184 · 17/12/2012 14:15

MN184 - I have not forgotten you! I have been travelling since the emails went out and someone was supposed to post something on my behalf but it didn't happen! So, back-up plan is in action and something is on its way to you in the next couple of days! Happy Christmas to you and to everyone else of course xx Xmas Smile

GlaikitFizzogTheChristmasElf post received from North Pole today was met with much anticipation from 5 year old ds who is off school poorly yet again. The mini elf stockings are beautiful, and the letter to go with from Mrs C was fab! I read it out to him. It is so lovely and well presented and i will keep it for them in their memory box for when they are older. Ds has already hung his stocking on his special tree in the bedroom and is eager to give DSD and DSS theirs. He is fascinated that Mrs C will be waiting up for santa on christmas day, must be love!.

Anyone who wants to see the lovely handywork its on my photos. Thank you so much.

HECTheHallsWithRowsAndFolly · 17/12/2012 16:58

Why can't you chase it up?

If someone was nominated, they know they were. If they don't get anything, they are probably not going to say anything! Far better for them to know something was sent out.

I'm waiting to hear if the person I sent to received it. I would like to know they got it and I would like to know that they aren't sitting there with no parcel thinking that their sender couldn't be arsed Grin

GlaikitFizzogTheChristmasElf · 17/12/2012 17:28

waitingforastartofall I'm so glad they arrived safe and sound! Just to be a part of the magic for your DS is enough for me. My DS is still too young to understand but I'm hoping next year we get the full on magic!

chocoreturns

Hello

So glad your parcel arrived safely!

I have seen some little bits of your story, and so glad to hear that 2012 is ending on an upbeat note, in your own house. What a huge weight off your shoulders that must feel!

Of course I didn't know that it was you I was sending too...now I think maybe I should have sent more!!

I'm glad you like your boys presents, both my DC have a bug light and love them. One of DS's first words was "stars stars stars" (unhelpfully at 3am, but still...)

And your littlest one probably won't appreciate the skittles for a while but he can at least chew on one safely and if the big one clonks him with one they are nice and soft...

You're doing brilliantly and deserve to have a lovely Christmas. Give the small ones a big hug from all of us and look forward to a much happier 2013!

petitepeach · 17/12/2012 20:21

Dillytante recipient 0053 (sorry don't know how to name change!)

So pleased you received your parcel, I'm the 'cracker' lady Xmas Grin I really enjoyed doing it, it's just such a fantastic idea.....
Just want to say have a wonderful Christmas & fabulous 2013.... That goes to all mumsnetters !.I don't post that often but love absorbing all the advice & funny stuff) Xmas Wink Christmas love to all

FiveFestiveFlowers · 17/12/2012 20:32

I agree Hec. I'm so worried the person I sent to hasn't got their parcel as it's been well over two weeks now.

I'd hate them to think I hadn't bothered. And if it's gone missing I want to know so I can contact Royal Mail.

HECTheHallsWithRowsAndFolly · 17/12/2012 20:37

That's it, isn't it? Someone may be sitting there having been told they have been nominated and they get - nowt.

They need to know something was indeed sent.

If you're reading - 095. I did send something. Honest. Grin

MN203 · 17/12/2012 21:10

Hello to my wonderful donor and nominator Xmas Smile I was so overwhelmed to recieve such a special gift, and so unexpected!!!!!!

Thank you SOOOOOOO much for the wonderful gift and the deeply kind thought. After a tough year, it made me feel such a glow of happiness, you can't imagine! My dcs will be so very thrilled when I show them the vouchers on Christmas day - I can't get over what a valuable and special present it is - the dcs deserve it so very much because times haven't been easy for us.

I only just heard about the gift because for various reasons I had to put my dm's address but she was staying here with me, not at her home. So I do apologise for the possibly delayed response, but as soon as she phoned me and told me about it my eyes welled up!

She's coming back tomorrow to mine, along with the MN package and I can't wait to see it in person Smile

A million thanks again to my nominator and donor - you are special people and I send you my love and warm wishes for a special Christmas to you and yours. xxxxxxxxxxx

IdiotishPrattle · 17/12/2012 21:15

MN164 I'm pleased its arrived there safely, although the lady in the post office wasn't holding out much hope for my ribbon bow Xmas Grin
