So the spreadsheets have been completed, the matches have gone out, all is done.

We're all waiting with bated breath. If you're a recipient and you'd like to pop back on here when your gift arrives to thank your donor then do remember to look out for your MN code which will have been included in the address on the packaging and include it in your post. The person who sent the gift will then be able to know it's you.

Agree with Hec. I was really worried until my recipient posted on the thread. I imagined someone sat there feeling like shit because even their Secret Santa couldn't be arsed to send them anything.

I don't understand why MNHQ can't send all recipients an email with a link to this thread. That's not pressurising anybody, it is giving them a nudge. And I also don't know why the recipients can't be given their MN SS number when they are matched, as then at least they could see if someone put a message on here explaining late delivery or wondering if their parcel arrived.

I've been told to expect something else but I'm away from Wednesday until Friday and I don't want the sender to think that I don't care.

VerityClinch absolute tosh you should have sent more! We LOVE the gifts and feel completely loved, I am so grateful for joy you have brought to my happy little boys.

I am writing down a story for them about this year, to go in their memory boxes for when they are older. I will be telling them all about how even the terribly sad parts of our journey have taught us all about the goodness and kindness of people. It is wonderful (in a way I can hardly really express) to be able to do that and know that there have been more good things that I can take out of this year than bad. We may have sent a useless twunt packing, but it's opened up a great big space in our lives for all the new friends we've made! (I'm adding you to the 'new friends' pile!) xx

If someone was nominated, they know they were. If they don't get anything, they are probably not going to say anything! Far better for them to know something was sent out

but the people who have been nominated don't know their number - (eg MN123) s they won't know if someone says "OH MN123 I posted your parcel today". They won't know it's for them IYSWIM

MNHQ Perhaps next year you could let recipients know their SS number to, rather than just the donor?

I am MN186. I asked MN to tell me my number so I could let my SS know ASAP when I received my post. We've been having problems with a wayward postman recently so I was nervous somebody's kindness and generosity might be wasted. It's a bit hard posting to say nothing's arrived because you look a little 'grabby' which I do not want anybody to think of me - tbh I'm so made up about being nominated that that will do for me - this year hasn't been the most fun filled so to know somebody was thinking of me has been just lovely. But if my SS is out there and thinks Their posting has gone astray pls PM me and we can chat. Thank you to everyone for being so kind too. Aren't women just brilliant?

Hello MN092! Glad you received your gift. It's entirely up to you whether to open it or save it till Christmas Day. I say save it, but open it if you have a bad day or need cheering up (in that I hope it will do the trick).

Yes, having spent a week lurking on this thread in the hope that my recipient will pop up (they are in a different country from me and I have absolutely no idea how long my parcel will take to get there) I agree that it would make sense for MN to tell recipients their reference number at matching stage. I can't see any problems this would cause, either - it wouldn't even be much extra work, would it?

A letter with a card and a parcel were waiting for me when I got back in today.

I just can't say how wonderful this was; and how many problems my lovely senders have solved- or indeed how timely it was, e had possibly the biggest meltdown ever, and to get this today- yes I cried.

My lovely senders: thank you. I hope that karma pays back many times over, and that you know what a difference you have made to this one family.
