So the spreadsheets have been completed, the matches have gone out, all is done. Gin

We're all waiting with bated breath. If you're a recipient and you'd like to pop back on here when your gift arrives to thank your donor then do remember to look out for your MN code which will have been included in the address on the packaging and include it in your post. The person who sent the gift will then be able to know it's you.

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Ho Ho Ho!

Dillytante, I'm so glad that your parcel has arrived (mine was the one with choc buttons).

I really hope your DD's like the presents and you all have a fantastic christmas.

Aww thank you for the kind comments about the blog. Ds1 was cracking me up this morning telling me about how he was going to take his teacher's glasses off. Every time I asked him how she would react he was slamming a hand to one ear and saying 'cross'. By saying I mean on the talker - a conversation that was only possible because of a mumsnetter. :) It can be a great place mumsnet :)

InkleWinkle · 16/12/2012 12:52

Hi Waiting
Posted first class yesterday Wink

Waitingforastartofall · 16/12/2012 13:23

Eek. No word from north pole yet, shall await the elfy postman. You guys are fab. Am in bucket loads of tears cause we have emptied mums house today. So many memories. I am so very lucky to be a part of this restores my faith that good things happen and people are ultimately lovely

GlaikitFizzogTheChristmasElf · 16/12/2012 14:09

((Hugs)) waiting. Parcel should be with you soon then! The elves took it to the post office on Thursday.

mn014 · 16/12/2012 14:10

Hoping I've name changed correctly!

Thank you to the kind lady/family who sent me a box containing 'not much'.

I'd like to ask her if she's crazy because it was a LOT!

The amazon voucher especially made me well up because I'm glued to my kindle and I wanted to get DD some learning to read books so this is perfect.

The necklace goes brilliantly with the top I'm wearing today so I have it on.

I'm going to scoff the chocolates another day because I have a personal training session today lol

I've put DD's disney princess stuff away to go into her stocking filler and I'll be telling her its a gift from a special friend.

This really means a lot to me because the last two years have been really hard. DH has recently been made redundant for the second time in a year. Both of us were in hospital this year. I was in hospital last year as well, and last year was very nearly fired thanks to the actions of some people who enjoy harrassing us (police are no help). So its just been really sh*te and its only recently we've seen the light at the end of the tunnel only for DH to lose his job again :(

Thank you for your kindness and for cheering me up. Happy christmas xx

Waitingforastartofall · 16/12/2012 14:12

You are so lovely I have promised to let dc open this parcel as he quotes that him and sc never ever get parcels so its only fair. Feel very lucky and looked after, its a cosy feeling.

Thank you so much for your two parcels which arrived today. I didn't think they delivered on Sundays, but I came back to them both outside my door Xmas Confused

I do not post as much as I once did, although my usual haunt was/ is Relationships. I have no idea who nominated me tbh but it made me feel very special. I've never been nominated before.

As a lone parent, money is tight and the extra parcels under the tree on the day and the gift card, which was very thoughtful of you and practical, are just so fantastic. Especially as I'll be here alone due to toxic family on the big day Sad Now I can make it more special.

Thank you so much and for your lovely little card and kind comments too. I came home tired and a bit down and now feel so much better, it was a lovely surprise. Thank you x

Better stop as my son is shouting from the other room, but thanks a million.

MN014

i am so glad you received that so quickly, i only posted it on friday. your post has just made me cry. this is the first time that a person i have sent to has posted on the thankyou thread (that i know of) and this is the first year that i have not been a recipient as well as sending. the necklace i made myself, its freshwater pearls, i made it friday morning, and decided to include it as a last minute thing. hopefully in the future it will become worth something and you can give it to your dd to keep. the chocs are for you and DH, i didnt know what to get him, but wanted him to have something. i know about the redundancy, so the voucher was just to get anything you wanted or needed. my girls helped me to choose the princess stuff, they are a little older than your dd so were a great help. it didnt seem like a lot compared to what some wonderful posters have sent and received, but i enjoyed putting it together for you. i hope you have a lovely christmas Xmas Smile

slatternlymother · 16/12/2012 17:19

MN172 I want you to know you have not been forgotten; I will be posting early part of this week.

No excuse at all but I've been fretting over what to get you.

I just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you and goodies are inbound xx

You really couldn't have done better, I always try to buy handmade jewellery and love reading. Want to install that love of reading into my DD too. DH is already eyeing up the chocs, he's amazed someone could be so generous. Lots of love xxx

MN104 · 16/12/2012 20:09

SECRET SANTA 104 Thank you so so much. I am really touched at the thought you have put in to this. Thank you for the nice message in the card and I love the stocking. I can't thank you for the gifts properly yet because I am saving them until Christmas day! I hope you and your family have a truly wonderful Christmas, and that 2013 is a good year for you. I will be back to thank you properly once I have opened the presents.

SantaMN137 · 16/12/2012 20:32

Hi MN137, Hope your parcel has arrived safely and the items are useful. Have a lovely Xmas. SantaMN137

SecretSanta135 · 16/12/2012 20:56

It's MN135 here. Wondering if my gift has reached it's destination.

Vouchers were posted on 30th November, but no word as yet from recipient.

Beginning to think that they may never have arrived Xmas Blush.

Any way MNHQ could check?

triplets · 16/12/2012 22:23

Please may ask ? Is the person who donates to you not necessarily the person who nominated you?

chocoreturns · 16/12/2012 22:23

Dear VerityClinch aka MN038, and my lovely mystery nominator... I received your gifts this evening. They were delivered to my parents address where I've been living with my DS's for most of the year. They were left in the 'safe place' (a plastic box in the garden) and the red card didn't get noticed immediately, so I am SO sorry if my thank you is a little late!!

I just wanted you to know how grateful I am for your generosity and thoughtfulness. I am far too impatient to wait for Christmas day I hope you don't mind!! The star ladybug lamp is simply gorgeous, DS2 will love it! And DS1 is going to have so much fun playing with his skittles when his cousins arrive for Christmas day. I snaffled the chocolate coins for myself

I won't go on and on but I want to update you (and my nominator too) about where we are because it's a good news story at last - me and my beautiful boys have moved into our own home this week! After almost a year of living in my mum and dad's house, it is such an exciting time. We are surrounded by boxes still, but are having so much fun getting settled. DS1 ran around and around in circles in the living room yesterday, shouting 'I love it! I love it! I love it! I loooooooooooooove iiiiit!!!'. Getting to this point is a HUGE deal. It's independence, a new start, a hopeful and happy home. I can't wait to put up the star lamp in baby bean's room and have my sister's kids over for a playdate with the boys Grin

My parents handed me the box addressed to the MNetter of the house tonight... and they were so curious. The amount of times they've looked at me like I'm absolutely nuts a little bit odd for snorting into a cup of tea, or bursting into tears at my laptop this year, well... lets just say they are starting to understand why MN is a place I treasure. The misery and uncertainty of everything we have been though has been healed little by little, in no small part by all the love and kindness and encouragement of MNetters day by day holding my hand through the tough times.

I want you to know that your gifts are just the most wonderful way to end this year. The perfect reminder that throughout all the madness and nonsense, I have been taught endlessly about the kindness and goodness of people. I believe in love and know that happiness is always possible - and I have you (and you, and you!) to thank for that. So thank you XXX

Jacksmania · 16/12/2012 22:27

Trips - I think so - that the person who nominates you and the person who sends your gift are not necessarily the same. I believe, especially in cases where the nominator and the nominee (hopefully the terminology is right) don't live in the same country, MNHQ match up MNers who live near each other, so no one pays too much postage.
