A parcel from a very generous Santa has arrived: a wonderful Playmobil advent calendar to get our family in the mood for Christmas. I think I'm probably more excited about it than my boys Grin.

To the lovely MNetter who sent me a gift (I have put it under the tree so don't know what it is, but it came from Ireland)

Thank you so much for your gift. I cannot wait to unpack it, but am forcing myself to wait until Xmas morning. Since opening the door to the postie, I have been smiling to myself.

My Swiss postie was very bemused, "Mme, cette paquet? C'est pour vous?" as he pointed at the To the Mumsnetter of the House inscription. I guess he is off googling Mumsnetter. (He has form - when I ordered a bike for DD's birthday, he had it all unpacked and ready for me to pick up at the post office).

Anyway, I digress.

To the person who nominated me - I have no idea why you nominated me and don't feel worthy of receiving a gift, but am very touched and honoured.

To Rebecca and the Xmas Elves - thank you for organising this. It is almost a tradition now to sit down with a stack of tissues, a cup of tea and a biscuit and read the thank you thread with tears running down my face.

Thank you so much for my gift which arrived this morning. Just the beautiful wrapping and care you had taken in making it look so lovely, was enough to make me well up.

I can't quite take in that someone can be so incredibly generous to a complete stranger, - you must be a very special person.

It has been a very sad few weeks for me, with the loss of my dear Father, and your gift and kindness has meant so much to me.

I haven't unwrapped it - I'm saving it for Christmas Day Smile - and I will post again when I have.

Thank you also to the lovely person who nominated me, - another sweet and generous soul.

Right, I have popped home from hospital for a couple of hours, and finally got to see the Amazon parcel- Wow, is all I can say!! What wonderful boo, stickers and pencils. The girls will be utterly thrilled! They obviously have the same tastes as your own dc Smile And thank you for the generous Amazon voucher.

To my Tesco secret Santa- thank you so much again for the voucher- I did my Christmas shop yesterday, and thanks to you I could slip some wine and expensive cheese into my trolley without feeling guilty! (I also bought j2o and chocolate- the dds won't miss out!!)

My number is 779 I hope that you know who you both are. (I assume there were 2 of you?)

I meant also to say thank you for the wrapped present (book) which is now under the tree waiting patiently for Sunday. It's almost like you know me choosing this gift for me. I love taking the DS's out for day trips to 'interesting' places (and both the older two are starting to develop an interest in history too). EH properties, while not very expensive to get into are usually ruled out as by the time I've paid to get to them the extra cost of getting in is too much. I'm already planning next year's jaunts out with them. And of course as it includes that many children free on it I can invite my best RL friend along with her DD's.......and it will be a cheap day out for her too with as she'll only have to pay for herself.

My boys have just decorated the tree, and hung their stockings up. I had a nap, and when I woke up it was the first thing I saw. It was a 'view' that would have been totally different it weren't for MN as the tree has all the new decorations I managed to buy last year (because the geneoristy of MN Secret Santa last year meant I hardly to spend anything on presents for them!). And the stockings and decorations hanging on the mantel are those given to me last year too.

Thank you MN (and soapbox for starting it all off years ago).

I am not sure how this works and really dont want to be presumptuous but nor do I want to appear crass and ungrateful so here goes.I had two emails from mn saying I had been nominated to receive a gift and asking for information.Now-I wouldnt have nominated me and honestly I understand if someone got me and wanted a more deserving mnetter to treat-that is absolutely fine.But if someone has sent something it hasnt arrived and I dont want them to think I wouldnt mention it because I would.I am really embarrassed by this post but cant just ignore the situation.

pranma - it's very likely because of the christmas post - if you email MNHQ, they will be able to check with the sender to see if they've sent it.

pranma you don't get given the user name of the person you are sending your gift to so it won't be that someone thinks you don't deserve it (although you clearly do if someone thought to nominate you).

Christmas post is terrible so hope it arrives soon for you.

Maybe MNHQ could get a list of those who have not received their gifts by xmas?

I would hate to think mine hadn't arrived and the person thinking they are not deserving enough.

Sorry this is a bit late - but so pleased to hear you received the parcel, I posted it later than I wanted too, but seems like RM managed a super speedy delivery there! The things for the kids are just little - but I hope you've all enjoyed the surprise and you have a wonderful 2012.

Santa3843 i feel like i know you. do i know you? thank you again, so so much, this year has been difficult, made even more so losing my dear nan (and last remaining grandparent) just 3 weeks ago, however, you gift was so kind, i am sure that no matter what the childrens gifts are they will love them, and i wanted to let you know that i used the amazon voucher to order the inbetweeners dvd for myself- i saw it at the cinema in september, and loved it, and want db to watch it too. thank you so much. i hope you have a very merry christmas, i know i certainly will (have been making dr who gingerbread today, will put up a pic in morning) much love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I'm a tough old caaaaaaah me, but the parcel I've just received has made me all teary and with a funny feeling in my tummy. Thank you so much 913.
