I've been asked by RebeccaMumsnet to start this thread. Smile

A big thanks to all at MNHQ for arranging this. You little stars!

When posting thanks, please give the Santa number that should be on your gift so that people can see that their gifts have arrived. Many thanks.

My Thanks :
A parcel from a very generous Santa has arrived: a wonderful Playmobil advent calendar to get our family in the mood for Christmas. I think I'm probably more excited about it than my boys Grin.
Thank you so much to the lovely person who nominated me - I am deeply, deeply touched by your kind thoughts.
And thank you so very much to my lovely Santa638. We will all enjoy your gift enormously: a perfect choice Smile. Wishing you and all your loved ones a very Merry Christmas, and a peaceful and loving 2012. Thanks

Picked up your parcel this morning - thank you so much. The girls will love the colouring bits and pieces (I sneak peeked Blush) - you couldn't have picked a better thing, and thank you for my voucher.

Really, really appreciated - between your parcel and dds nativity play tomorrow - I might be shedding a tear and I'm hard as nails Grin

To the Mumsnetter who deposited #25 into my paypal last night:

You know who you are. I know who you are. If I were to out you here (which I would quite happily do) I fear you would go crazy on my ass.

I can't tell you what this means to me.

I have just been looking at toys for DS from Santa. Coupled with what you have already sent for him, you really, really can't appreciate how much this means to me. Well, I can tell you. Practically he will have at least 3 big wrapped presents under the tree.

Thank you. From the bottom of my heart.

I wish you and yours so much happiness to come - I believe that karma comes back threefold. As you've sent through twice I hope you get the good karma back sixfold.

Much love, and thank you for being you

x

tallwivglasses i'm here sorry!! I have been on night shifts so not been able to check and reply until todaySmile
Thank you for your lovely messages, I am so very very pleased that you and your family liked your pressies.
I would like to say I know you as you sound very nice, however the pressies were just things I thought you and your family may like!
I thought the peace lily might be good as it will last longer than some of the other goodies.
I hope you all have great christmas and a happy and healthy 2012! Wine

ps this thread is so lovely - I agree mumsnet hankies should be available for next year Xmas Grin

tallwivglasses · 20/12/2011 01:35

Xmas Blush Another surprise! The postman was confused and asked if I had a surname...it's written on a plaque with the house details by the door Hmm

Thank you to the lady who sent the parcel marked 14483. It's got some beautifully wrapped presents inside (which I shall attempt to save the paper when unwrapping because it is so lovely!)

Your generosity is appreciated so very much and make me feel part of a mumsnet family which is caring and supportive.

I'm going to hide them before my little boy wakes up so he doesn't open them -and I don't keep giving them a squeeze!

Sending you wishes of a wonderful Christmas my secret santa 14483!

Love,
Architien, boytien & babatien

Xmas Smile Frillybuster! Yes and thank you so very much for being so thoughtful. It really has made me feel cared for, the candle (which I have spent many a happy moment looking for online to spend the vouchers from JL) will be scenting our home every morning for months to come and my little boy will continue to be thrilled by the craft stuff for a long time to come and I shall be able to cook dinner in relative peace followed by a lovely cup of tea in the lovely tree mug (from JL) hurrah!

I really hope you have a lovely Christmas!

What a lovely thread!

Quick question for MNHQ: is there a way they can ask those folk receiving things if they have received them successfully without the people sending them posting on this thread?

I'd love to be sure that some things I sent got there safely (mainly cos I stupidly posted them in a rush without proof of delivery etc) but don't want to post on here as it feels a bit like I'm asking for the person to thank me... which I'm so not...! I'd just be very happy to know they've got there okay - think a few people sending stuff have said the same.

If not, no probs, 'tis a lovely idea in the first place.

RebeccaHallsWithBoughsOMumsnet · 20/12/2011 10:09

Hi Cestlavie,

We can mail and ask if anything has been received but we do like to give folks a week or so to post and we never say that they have to.

Some may be in hospital, moving etc, it is not always possible for them to post but we will mail and check whether or not the have received anything if you are concerned about the parcel arriving, that is no problem.

hth

cestlavie · 20/12/2011 10:17

Hi Rebecca - absolutely agree about posting, would just hate to find out that stuff was sat in a sorting office somewhere cos I'd not sent it recorded, hence seeing if you guys could find out if it had got there... a quick mail from you at some point over the next couple of days would be great. If you don't mind I'll PM directly with the number?

RebeccaHallsWithBoughsOMumsnet · 20/12/2011 10:34

We received so many lovely words in the nomination mails and the nominee return mails that we wanted to share a few of the comments anonymously as they really are beautiful

We hope that you don't mind us re-posting them.

We have edited a few of them to hide any identifying info but you get the idea.

I would just like to add a little note of thanks.
Whatever help I have been able to give via Mumsnet, has been returned by the bucket load .I am so grateful to have found this group of wonderful women , it has helped me through what has been the toughest time of my life.

Thank you so much. It means a lot after a pretty difficult year and I have had some wonderful support on the boards myself.

To say I'm overwhelmed is an understatement to beat the band. To whoever nominated me a thousand thank yous.

We have had a truly dreadful year but this is just wonderful.

All i can say is wow - i'm very touched - thank you

Wow!!! That is so cool and amazing, whoever nominated me must be a very lovely person indeed. (feel rather teary that someone would be so kind!!)

Dear MN Elves,
Wow! Thank you for such a lovely surprise email. It has brought tears to my eyes Smile

Thank you so much to whoever nominated me and to all the wonderful people who make this happen. For the first time this year I don't feel so anxious about Christmas so a massive thank you to you all.

or simply Oh my actual God! What a lovely surprise!

And from the nomination mails:

I believe her daily life holds many challenges that most people would never experience. Despite this, she is one of the most thoughtful, wise and compassionate posters on here.

She is going through such difficult times.

I have never met her in RL but she has been a wonderful friend to me.

She is always putting other people first. It would be amazing if she was to get a little something for herself as she never does in RL.

She is an absolute saint! She always puts a positive spin on things, even on threads that get very heated, she is the calm in the storm.

She is an amazing person, she listens to me rant and rave and always manages to cheer me up. I would love for her to receive a treat for herself - it would go some way towards showing her what a fabby person she is.

She has fought cancer and is an inspirational and giving lady.

Amazing woman.

I would like her to know that we are thinking of her.

She also knows just the right things to say to everyone to help them through whatever is going on.

I would love to see her many kindnesses rewarded.

She is the most loving and generous woman. She always gives her last dime to anybody who needs it. She deserves to be spoiled a bit. I feel I am receiving a huge gift this Christmas merely by having her as a friend.

I want to give her a huge hug but can't, so this is the best I can do for her.

For being lovely and funny.

carriemumsnet · 20/12/2011 12:38

Hi all
I don't spend as much time on the boards as I'd like, but have just spent an emotional hour reading all these messages and being moved to tears by it all. What lovely folks you all are - and at the risk of coming over all Kate Winslet - thanks for making Mumsnet what we always wanted it to be - a place where parents make other parents' lives easier.
You're all stars Xmas Smile
