We have just opened ours! As usual, ds and I are having our annual advent calendar competition. Same rules as usual - we have guessed beforehand what picture wewill get in each window. 1 point for something which we have guessed for another date. 2 points for the correct thing on the correct date.

So far ds has got off to a flying start as he guessed snowman and got..... a snowman! So it's two points to him. I guessed Christmas pudding and got......mince pies! No points to me I'm afraid, as I hadn't guessed mince pies.

Ds also has a Christmas in the Forest Playmobil calendar. He had a tree in that. Smile

I had a poinsettia and ds had some decorations (1 point each). The Playmobil one yielded an adult fox.

a second train truck from lego and a teddy bear with christmas tree in chocolate.

Today ds had a poinsettia and I had a Christmas pudding (1 point each). He is still 4 points ahead, so there is no way I'm going to win this! Xmas Grin

In the Playmobil calendar we had a lovely red sledge and a pitchfork. Norman the Foreman is enjoying a ride on the sledge, being pulled along by Brian and Ken! He is sitting there with a cup and kettle, having a wonderful time...... Xmas Grin

Festive pictures of Norman please SnowMuch!

I'm delighted to report that our missing pieces from Playmobil arrived at long last today - we had pretty much given up on the calendar as it only had a couple of bits left in it. So we have caught up and now have Father Christmas sitting at his desk with lots of letters and toys around him. Smile

They didn't send the background scene though Sad - and no extra elves as hoped for - but the dcs are delighted and are currently setting up their takealong Playmobil house as Father Christmas's workshop.

SnowMuchToBits · 22/12/2010 18:09

Yayyyy!!! Shame about the background though.....

I will have to take some photos of Norman with his new mode of transport.....Xmas Grin

Today I had a candle (1 point) and ds had penguins (0 points). But he is still 3 points ahead, so I can't win now!

In the Playmobil calendar we had a basket of potatoes and a bundle of hay.

What an excellent game op!
Today was a green present.

Tikkabillajive · 23/12/2010 23:37

SnowMuch those are BRILLIANT! I love the one of them all having a cup of tea in the stable - I remember how nice that first cup of tea after giving birth was, I'm sure Mary enjoyed hers too! Xmas Grin

Xmas Grin Norman is really enjoying the run-up to Christmas. His friend Bossy Ross (the lifeboat coxswain) has had to contend with his lifeboat station being moved (due to furniture removals, as my sister and BIL are staying in the playroom) but is coping quite well.....

Must take a photo of lifeboat station too, as it has been decorated with tinsel....

And finally........

Today I guessed Baby Jesus and got.....

Father Christmas!
Ds guessed Baby Jesus and got......

Father Christmas!
And in the Playmobil calendar we had....

Father Christmas!
So a hat-trick of Father Christmases today.
Ds won the advent calendar three points ahead of me.
Thank you to everyone who has posted on this thread and kept me entertained with your advent calendars! Xmas Smile

Baby Jesus arrived here safely too, has been safely installed in the stable with all the shepherds, sheep, goats, yak, camels, wise men grouped around him.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Tikkabillajive · 24/12/2010 17:17

We had a Playmobil-fest today as I bunged most of the stuff that arrived in the post into the 24 box - so we had an elf, a Christmas tree, a small dog, a dog bowl and several cardboard parcels. Smile

Merry Christmas to all of you and especially to Norman and friends!

SnowMuchToBits · 24/12/2010 21:04

Lol at nativity yak!

Awww, thanks Tikkabilla, Norman and friends wish everyone a happy Christmas and a nice cup of tea (or other preferred beverage)! Xmas Grin

I have both my sisters and their partners, and a very good friend staying for Christmas (as well as dh and ds). We have eaten our Christmas Eve dinner, and now everyone is engrossed in the Christmas carol/song quiz I have compiled, and drinking wine (ds not drinking the wine!). Looks like it will be a good one..... Xmas Smile
