We have just opened ours! As usual, ds and I are having our annual advent calendar competition. Same rules as usual - we have guessed beforehand what picture wewill get in each window. 1 point for something which we have guessed for another date. 2 points for the correct thing on the correct date.

So far ds has got off to a flying start as he guessed snowman and got..... a snowman! So it's two points to him. I guessed Christmas pudding and got......mince pies! No points to me I'm afraid, as I hadn't guessed mince pies.

Ds also has a Christmas in the Forest Playmobil calendar. He had a tree in that. Smile

Today's offerings were a clown (mine, 0 points!) and a sleigh (ds's 1 point).

And four Playmobil birds and a bird feeder.

The birds are now perched in the bush, or on the bird feeder.

Same as yours SnowMuch. Birds positioned in exactly the same way as on the picture in the leaflet. Ds extremely concerned with accuracy. Not very inspiring tbh. I will have to search out some Playmobil interlopers.

TheNorthernLight · 03/12/2010 11:11

I just have chocolate in mine Grin

taffetazatyousantaclaus · 03/12/2010 12:56

My mum sent chocolate ones for the DC in the post. Except we haven't had any post fro 3 days cos of the blardy snow. Xmas Sad Where's Santa when you need a delivery????

SnowMuchToBits · 04/12/2010 10:15

Today I had presents (1 point) and ds had holly (also 1 point). So far it's SnowMuch - 2 points, ds - 5 points.

In the Playmobil one we had a manger and some hay.

Taffeta - you would have thought Santa would have been used to dealing with adverse weather conditions. I thought it quite ironic that our school Santa Sleigh run this week was cancelled due to snow.... Xmas Grin

Dd had a Playmobil angel. And some wings. And no apparent way of joining the two. Confused

SnowMuchToBits · 04/12/2010 10:41

Have you looked in the instruction booklet Awesome? That sometimes gives you a clue as to how to join the pieces up....

We had a manger and lumps of what must be hay and grass plus what can only be described as a large turd. I suppose it is meant to be soil but it does look rather odd. A very quiet Playmobil forest. I hope it gets more interesting over the next few days. Ds has refused to allow any Playmobil interlopers to join in.

MortaIWombat · 04/12/2010 11:56

Oops. I threw it once I'd put the backdrop together. Blush

SnowMuchToBits · 04/12/2010 12:02

Mollie Xmas Shock - we had the hay and grass.... but no turd! Wonder what happened to ours.....

So far we've had two donkeys and two shepherds, I'd love something exciting like a star tomorrow.

MollieO · 04/12/2010 12:55

You should have had a turd SnowMuch. It is quite large and beige with a small hole (I assume to put a plant in it). Definitely listed on the leaflet.

I assume it isn't supposed to be a turd but it does look quite dubious. [hconfused]

Maybe yours has escaped to another day. Just think - a suprise turd is waiting for you. Xmas Grin

MollieO · 04/12/2010 12:55

Xmas Confused even.

SnowMuchToBits · 04/12/2010 13:58

Ah Mollie, I was thinking it was a smaller piece of hay Xmas Blush. We do have it after all then!

OP posts:
SnowMuchToBits · 04/12/2010 13:59

Sonea is yours one with just pictures? If so maybe it's all things that are in the nativity scene. Maybe you will get an angel or a cow or a sheep....

DS got a teapot today Xmas Confused

LostArt · 04/12/2010 14:51

I wonder if we have the same calendar, chocoholic. DD had a teapot today, and was told to put it into a parcel. She thinks something 'magical' is going to happen to it tonight. Grin

chocoholic · 04/12/2010 21:00

Is it the 3D tree one?
We put it under the tree (Father Christmas needs a cuppa?).

Can you swap it for a teabag tonight?

Sonea · 05/12/2010 08:42

Yet another shepherd, we now have three shepherds and two donkeys, I know by the end of it we'll have a lovely nativity scene but it needs more than shepherds and donkeys. I've cheated and checked, we don't get the Wise Men till the 14th!

SnowMuchToBits · 05/12/2010 09:30

Today ds had stockings (1 point) and I had a drum (0 points). It's not going too well for me....

In the Playmobil one we had a small deer.

Sonea, you appear to have a flock of shepherds..... Xmas Grin

Still waiting to find out although of course I do actually know. Ds was at his grandma's last night and we've been out all day today. Ds is now in the garden playing but seems to have forgotten his advent calendar. Hopefully he'll remember later!

taffetazatyousantaclaus · 05/12/2010 16:07

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Post arrived today. Yes, on a Sunday. Postie slogged up the snowy hill laden with packages ( mainly mine Xmas Blush ) including Grandma's choc advent calendars. DC happily scoffed 1-5 Dec in one fell swoop. Well, lunch was running very late.

Christmas stamps and ink pads in the advent stocking and a Christmas cracker in the picture one.

MollieO · 05/12/2010 21:31

Ds finally opened today's slot. A deer with a movable neck. Much debate ensued as to whether deer would be feeding from the hay rack (neck up) or the ground (neck down). Deer has in fact been left neck up but nowhere near the hay rack. I may have to move him as it just seems cruel. He can see the hay rack but not reach it without help (hope ds doesn't notice he's been moved).

SnowMuchToBits · 05/12/2010 21:39

What a surprise Mollie! Xmas Grin Our deer is eating the turd (although we think it's hay.....)

Taffeta, glad your stuff arrived at last!

Today i had some Christmas crackers (1 point) and ds had some mistletoe (2 points!). Can't believe that he has twice managed to guess the right item on the right day.... It's now ds 8, Mummy 3.

In the Playmobil one we had a large reindeer with antlers on.
