We have just opened ours! As usual, ds and I are having our annual advent calendar competition. Same rules as usual - we have guessed beforehand what picture wewill get in each window. 1 point for something which we have guessed for another date. 2 points for the correct thing on the correct date.

So far ds has got off to a flying start as he guessed snowman and got..... a snowman! So it's two points to him. I guessed Christmas pudding and got......mince pies! No points to me I'm afraid, as I hadn't guessed mince pies.

Ds also has a Christmas in the Forest Playmobil calendar. He had a tree in that. Smile

DH and I are both very Xmas Hmm about it, but DS loves, loves, loves it!

Sonea · 14/12/2010 08:25

Christmas burglars - brilliant.

Well me and the DC's are a bit confused today. We know we've already had two kings because they were wearing crowns, but today we got two guys with camels looking up at the sky. We can't work out who these guys are, does that mean there are in four kings in our nativity scene, or are these just a couple of camel guys kicking back after dinner and looking at the stars?

You would think I'd now the difference between cows and bulls living next door to a bloody dairy farm wouldn't you?

SnowMuchToBits · 14/12/2010 11:42

We had a robin (me, 1 point) and a holly wreath (ds 0 points). I'm catching up, only 2 points behind now...

In the Playmobil one we had a baby boar.

Jack-in-the-box for me, and snowflake for ds today, no points for either. Still, we had a nice badger in the Playmobil one. Xmas Smile

A picnic bench and two chairs - lego.

Boy has now set it up under his bed and found another chair to go with so more of his lego people can join in.

Sonea · 16/12/2010 11:22

We got a goat today and a yak type creature yesterday.

SnowMuchToBits · 16/12/2010 11:37

A yak???? Xmas Confused

Today we both had Christmas trees (1 point each), and in the Playmobil calendar, a baby badger.

UniS · 16/12/2010 21:20

Boy had a christmas tree in one as well... and a sofa in the other. He was hoping for a vehicle.

MollieO · 16/12/2010 21:23

Baby badger. Too much wildlife for my liking. Ds is away for a couple of days so I might do some rearranging and adding to liven things up.

SnowMuchToBits · 16/12/2010 23:00

Ds is quite happy with the wildlife. Meanwhile, Norman and his mates are helping themslves to the pears, apples and carrots, in an attempt at healthy eating Xmas Hmm

I ordfered the oddest advent calendar ever, by accident. dd2 is v cross with me.

Today it was a smiling pear wearing a santa hat. Yep, pear. Grinning it was.

SnowMuchToBits · 16/12/2010 23:05

Love the pear!!!! Xmas Grin

OP posts:
panettoinydog · 16/12/2010 23:08

The pear is not unusual in its oddness either.

We have a giant bee carrying a small basket or pot.
A dancing toadstool with a face and arms
A chick hatching from an egg (some easter confusion?)
A worm waving while cralwing out of an apple

panettoinydog · 16/12/2010 23:09

It is the best fun I have had first thing in the morning for a long time

SnowMuchToBits · 17/12/2010 09:45

panettoiny I think the person who designed yours must have been on the magic mushrooms or something! Xmas Grin

Today I had a horse on wheels (0 points) and ds struck lucky with a Christmas pudding (2 points). Just when I thought I might be catching up......

In the Playmobil calendar we had two more root vegetables and two mice.

OP posts:
Sonea · 17/12/2010 14:06

Today we had a camel. Panettoiny I thought our calendar was weird, but yours is way out there.

SnowMuchToBits · 18/12/2010 12:25

Today I had a Christmas cake (0 points) and ds some musical instruments (also 0 points).

In the Playmobil one we had a tree stump and some yellow flowers Xmas Smile

Anyone else with a lego calendar? DS opened his today and I asked him what he had and he said... 'a naked old man scrubbing himself' and when I looked it definately was a naked old man scrubbing himself!!!! (Presumably to go with the shower from yesterday lol)

UniS · 18/12/2010 14:33

Isn't it santa? naked for sure, taking a shower? we had two brushes and two red hats, to go with the double taps yesterday. They seem to be consistently over bricking ...

SnowMuchToBits · 18/12/2010 16:40

A naked Santa! Xmas Shock

OP posts:
MollieO · 19/12/2010 13:22

Large tree today. The forest is looking more forest like.

UniS · 19/12/2010 13:31

truck for a train.... tell me lego advent calender owners- was the train behind doors 1-11? or is it still to come? we started on day 12 you see... and will be using 1-11 to count up to school starting.

SnowMuchToBits · 19/12/2010 13:33

We had a large tree in our Playmobil advent calendar too Mollie - what a coincidence! Xmas Grin

In our picture ones I had more decorations (0 points) and ds had a teddy bear (1 point). He is now 5 points ahead, so I have a bit of catching up to do.....

OP posts:
Sonea · 19/12/2010 15:59

We had the third king - it's all starting to come together in our nativity scene, no sign of Mary and Joseph yet though.

SnowMuchToBits · 20/12/2010 13:22

I had a sleigh today! Yay!!!!! 2 points at last! Xmas Grin Ds had some woolly accessories (hat and mittens) so 1 point for him.

In the Playmobil calendar we had two fox cubs, which ds thought were red squirrels... Xmas Hmm
