Secret Santa Thank You Thread

I have asked in Site Stuff where to put this with no reply, so if it's wrong can you move MN please? Thanks.

Yesterday I received a gorgeous pack of coasters that we can put pictures in, and a box from Amazon with toys including a Rubiks magic puzzle for my ds's.

I want to say a huge thank you to whichever person sent them. They are perfect and the feeling someone cares enough to have nominated and / or bought for us makes a difference. Two weeks ago we thought we were about to become homeless after a bloody rough year and although that has passed we're still feeling very shaken and it's so good to have some light out there. Christmas stands between now and our ds4 being seen at the Paediatrician's request (for those who don't know ds1 has asd, ds2 dyspraxia and ADD, ds3 asd) and this has given me the Christmas spirit I was missing.

Thank you, I wish you all a most wonderful of festive seasons.

Annie, am pleased. Was wondering if it would be ok, seeing as I hadnt actually seen it myself.
Not exactly neighbours though. (London UK based!) The wonders of Internet shopping Xmas Grin
You may need to upload a Christmas Morning photo Xmas Smile
Hope you and all the other Mnetters givers and receivers have a lovely Christmas.

StayingFatherChristmasGirl · 21/12/2010 09:56

Apparently most of the parcels I posted at the same time have arrived, so hopefully my secret santa parcel has made it too.

This thread is amazing, and people have been so generous (I just hope my secret santa recipient doesn't feel I am a meanie).

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 21/12/2010 11:25

This has to be a mistake surely?? I've just got another (that's 3 now) Confused box of lovely presents this time from 42D.

DS3 was swiftly on my tail as I went upstairs, and DS1 is currently reading over my shoulder Xmas Grin so I a) didn't get a chance to look through properly, and b) can't type anything that's in there. But thank you so much. I'm really don't know what to say - I really don't deserve this much stuff (actually DS1 has just disapeared for a second - that clock looks AMAZING - he'll bloody love it!!!!

DS1 has just piped up "Thank you from me as well" (Before I wrote about the clock Xmas Wink

Santa42D · 21/12/2010 12:08

Woohoo, Baroqin! I had just logged in to see if my parcel had been delivered and there you were! Hope you and the boys enjoy the gifts. There is one wrapped for you and some paper and tags to wrap the boys stuff. It's not much but there is a little Boots voucher too which is to be used ONLY on yourself. Happy Christmas!

lucysmam · 21/12/2010 12:10

To Secret Santa 112D, I just thought you might like to know, last night once the kids were safely in bed I used the voucher you sent to order some things for them. DD1 will be getting a Toy Story 3 book with a read-along cd as she loves Toy Story, and I got her a little colouring set. DD2 is getting some 'Counting Candles' which will hopefully be here in time for her birthday on the 28th.

I've also ordered myself a couple of used books to complete some sets I have been reading & left dp about £7 so he can pick something for himself.

So, it has been well used, I think. Although, not many of the items are available for xmas but as someone said earlier in the thread, it will extend the festive season for us. So, thank-you very much Xmas Smile

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 21/12/2010 12:20

oh thank you so much Santa42D.

The stuff looks wonderful my boys are being totally and utterly spoilt this year. And I fear their eyes may pop out of their head when they come down on Christmas morning Xmas Grin.

I know it's not totally for me..........but would you mind if I used the Boots voucher to develop a few rolls of 35mm film that have been sitting around wating to be developed for about 5yrs now??? The money just never seems to have been there when the time was available (or when I remembered) and there are photos of DS1 and DS2 when they were little on them.....

I was so Confused when it arrived - I saw the Amazon box to start with and was thinking - hmm that's odd I'm sure I've already got all my Amazon orders. And then realised it said "Mumsnetter" on the front Xmas Grin

Thank you thank you thank you

17DThankYou · 21/12/2010 14:12

17D Thank You so much - your parcel arrived today. my children will love the game.

You are very kind. I hope you and your family have a lovely xmas and a happy new year Xmas Smile

reallywoundup · 21/12/2010 14:44

ref 93D- thank you!
The doorbell rang and i got all flustered about a waitrose box (we don't have a waitrose anywhere near, and the meer sight of the box got me very excited [blush)

The planter is lovely, it shall take pride of place on the dining table and dh is in charge of keeping it alive (he has a far better chance than me!)

Mumsnetters are so generous, and the christmas appeal is something we should all be proud of! thank you to my nominator and everyone who sent gifts- you are all wonderful

Flame · 21/12/2010 15:05

13D

I am sat here in floods of tears. Thank you so much. They are spot on.

This year has been one of the worst of my life, but "strangers" have been here for me every step of the way. Today is Yule. It is a fresh start and the returning of the light. Bring on the next year. I may not be living the life i pictured for myself twelve months ago, but I am a happier and stronger woman.

Thank you so much to 13D, my nominator, and just Mners as a whole.

77DSecretSanta · 21/12/2010 15:16

SantasMooningArse

Glad my parcel arrived, and am intrigued to find out your delivery story!

Hope you like it, it's not much but hoped was something the whole family could enjoy together

Realised I forgot to put paper and tags in for the boys, sorry!

Have a very merry christmas x

ilovesprouts · 21/12/2010 15:42

14d got all 3 parcels now thanks so much from me & ds2 merryxmas xx

HowsTheSerenity · 21/12/2010 15:56

ARGH!! 15D have you got your parcel yet? I sent it two weeks ago. I think you live in Sussex somewhere.

I just want to make sure it arrives before I leave. It is too hard to track the mail/deal with Royal Mail while overseas.

SirBoobAlot · 21/12/2010 16:06

4D your parcel has just arrived. Many, many thanks. It suprised me, and I feel very lucky. It made me smile as am currently suffering the delights of swine flu. Mum has put the presents in the bag for me and its sitting nicely under the tree. The Ms M.U.M.S Netter made me grin too Xmas Grin

Thank you. xx

lucysmam · 21/12/2010 16:48

111D, thank-you so much! I really don't know what to say, the camera is fab, have already tried it out taking some pics of the oldest in front of the tree.

I didn't expect to come home from picking up dp some smart trousers to a parcel for me.

DD1 has claimed the pink coat & is currently parading around the house wearing it over her 'fairy dress' with my hat Xmas Grin

The choccies have been hidden from everyone but me Xmas Grin or they will not last longer than tonight! & the jewellery will go perfectly with the outfit I saved for for Christmas day.

Thank-you so much, and I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas xxxx

P.S. I think next year Royal Mail ought to be warned about parcels for 'The Mumsnetter of the House'.... ours was, according to dp, highly amused when he went to check what surname it should be addressed to & it wasn't under either of our surnames!

SantasKnickersOnMyHead · 21/12/2010 17:20

ah so glad you have recieved it! Hdnl have had it marked as delivered!
Hope you all have an amazing christmas!

scarlotti · 21/12/2010 20:13

I have just had a lovely box of chocolate goodies delivered Grin Thank you so much - no code on the box, so maybe it's ScarlottiSanta again ...

Thank you so much - somehow you have the knack of sending these things just when life feels awful. I am so grateful to you and my nominator, I can't tell you what a difference it's making to me at the moment xx

scarlotti · 21/12/2010 20:19

My last parcel was from 52D just in case my remembering helps the thanks get to the right place x

lucysmam · 21/12/2010 20:36

SantasKnickers, was the camera from you? Thankyou so very much!

Our ancient one you put films in will be put in the "man drawer" where all the other crap goes & forgotten about now we have that. I'll be pestering for a memory card for it over the next few days so I can take loads of pics of the kids... will start working on that now Xmas Grin

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 21/12/2010 21:44

ooooooo 42D - I have finally had a chance to go and look through the parcel properly.

Oh it's all wonderful - every single one of those things my DS's will love. The books are just right for DS3 and the games and construction thing perfect for the other 2. The star of that box is still that clock. It's bloody genius and DS1 will absolutely love that.

Especially as he's just been getting to grips with some conductors/insulators/electric revision stuff on the revision website the school has just signed up to and now it's "clicked" is really into it.

Just tonight he was sat fiddling with something and piped up "this is an insulator". It's almost like you know my DS's Xmas Grin

I really need to start wrapping. My bedroom is full of boxes and presents.

I went to my BF's house today as she looked after DS2 and 3 for the afternoon. When I got back she had 5 huge Christmas bags she was filling with presents. And I told her I'd got another SS parcel. She was Xmas Grin for me - and looked at the bags for her DC (and DGC) and pointed out to me that actually they're probably getting an "average" Christmas compared to most children - as some people (like her) have big families, and lots of close friends who buy for the children as well so there's always loads under the tree - even without them (parents) buying much.

Usually it's just presents from me and my BF under the tree for my DS's - not that they're bothered - they're such good boys - and they've grown up with just a couple of presents under the tree (at the same time as knowing that almost all of their friends have huge familes and get gifts from aunties, uncles, grandparents, etc etc etc).

Today's parcel couldn't have come on a better day. I wasn't in a good place in the middle of the night because of stupid hindsight, and I'd dozed off on the sofa again this morning due to lack of sleep last night (still feeling really Sad and about it all) - then the parcel arrived Xmas Smile.

I really don't deserve this There is enough stuff up in my bedroom for 2 years worth of birthdays and Christmas !!

SantasKnickersOnMyHead · 21/12/2010 21:52

was going to get you a memory card, cos i need one too but they are bloody expensive! Glad you like it though Xmas Smile
