Secret Santa Thank You Thread

SantasMooningArse · 28/11/2010 18:10

I have asked in Site Stuff where to put this with no reply, so if it's wrong can you move MN please? Thanks.

Yesterday I received a gorgeous pack of coasters that we can put pictures in, and a box from Amazon with toys including a Rubiks magic puzzle for my ds's.

I want to say a huge thank you to whichever person sent them. They are perfect and the feeling someone cares enough to have nominated and / or bought for us makes a difference. Two weeks ago we thought we were about to become homeless after a bloody rough year and although that has passed we're still feeling very shaken and it's so good to have some light out there. Christmas stands between now and our ds4 being seen at the Paediatrician's request (for those who don't know ds1 has asd, ds2 dyspraxia and ADD, ds3 asd) and this has given me the Christmas spirit I was missing.

Thank you, I wish you all a most wonderful of festive seasons.

mines gone to Doncaster.

IAmReallyFabNow · 18/12/2010 18:53

I know that people want to keep things secret but I don't like it as it means I don't know if the person I nominated got anything.

MerryMarigold · 18/12/2010 19:00

Doesn't matter, ReallyFab, you did your bit! And it was great you did.

PosieParkhersleigh · 18/12/2010 19:25

Perhaps we should have a list type thread where people can see who has got stuff.

SS1 yes
ss2

ss3 yes

and so on.

PigeonStreet · 18/12/2010 20:21

Mine went to Kent, about 11 days ago...

IwishIcouldmeetSanta · 18/12/2010 20:36

I only posted yesterday Xmas Blush

First class Royal Mail, the postmaster was very confident that it would arrive at its destination on the South coast before Christmas Day.

DanceInTheDark · 18/12/2010 21:10

If you are struggling to read all the posts. Just press ctrl and g (or ctrl and f) and type your reference in. It makes it a bit quicker Wink

DanceInTheDark · 18/12/2010 21:11

Ooo half my post disappeared - it said To all the wonderful donators ....If youa re ...../

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 18/12/2010 21:18

Iwish - was that before or after ths snow that's just landed Xmas Grin

DiTD - yes that works - but there's a few people that have posted thanks with no references numbers.

Someone posted today (I think?) about a £25 Tesco voucher that's arrived......I know waiting to see if theirs have arrived said they'd sent a voucher...

IwishIcouldmeetSanta · 18/12/2010 21:21

Xmas Blush During Xmas Blush

I've been completely wiped out by some fluey type thing since last weekend, so have left it later than I had intended.

Fingers crossed it gets there.

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 18/12/2010 21:23

Xmas Grin I wouldn't worry about it honestly.

I was nominated for the SS last year (when it was really secret and the nominated people didn't know we were getting). And my SS arrived at the start of January - it just extended Christmas and was still absolutely fabulous - didn't matter that they hadn't arrived before Christmas day Xmas Grin

santa107D · 18/12/2010 21:49

I posted mine on Monday via parcelforce and it was marked as delivered to the address I posted it to on Weds morning. Address was a south coast town.

DoNotWantAnotherMincePie · 19/12/2010 09:27

Baroqin - Do they know what they are getting this year then??

Hulababy · 19/12/2010 09:56

allgoodnamestaken -> 27D

I am glad you liked the other gifts for your DDs :) Just wanted you to know that there is one final joint gift coming for your girls. It is coming from findmeagift.com and was dispatched 12 December I believe.

However, my sister has ordered the same gift for my DD a little earlier IIRR and that has still not arrived. I think the post is delayed so you may not get it til after Christmas now, sorry.

But if it hasn't arrived by end of the month can you let me know - either on here or by my inbox. I can then chase it. I am away from 27th Dec t 3rd Jan, so if not here ater I get back I can look into for you.

Fingers crossed it arrives before then though :)

And Merry christmas!

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 19/12/2010 11:35

DoNotWant - they don't know "what" they're getting - but they do know they've been nominated. As everyone that was nominated received an email asking for basic details (address, gender/age of children etc).

No-one knew they were nominated until a parcel turned up on the doorstep.

DoNotWantAnotherMincePie · 19/12/2010 12:34

Oh really !! How did people know addresses?

StayingFatherChristmasGirl · 19/12/2010 12:56

We got an email with the address of the mumsnetter we'd been matched up with, plus details like the number, age and gender of their children. Parcels are addressed to 'The mumsnetter of the house'.

lucysmam · 19/12/2010 18:49

SantasKnickersOnMyHead, I'm in Doncaster. Not had a lot of post over the last few weeks here (not that I'm complaining, I only ever get bills or letters about my debt that I'm trying to pay off)!

domeafavour · 19/12/2010 23:43

I think the reference was 1d
thanks so much for the tesco and toysrus gift cards,
I am honestly amazed that anyone nominated me, I have no idea why, but thank you so much, I am touched.

lucysmam · 20/12/2010 09:04

Ref112D, thank-you so much for the Amazon voucher that's just arrived! DD1 got to the door before me & opened it for me. I'll definately use it for some treats for us all! Not sure what yet though as dp says I have to use it all for me & I can't think of anything to get

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas, thank-you again Xmas Smile

Sat here staring at the white stuff wondering if we are going to get away today, and a knock at the door reveals a small child in full ski gear bearing a gift for us! I am going to open it later, when we either arrive or get dug out of the snow (!) but thank you so much, and I will be back over the next few days to say more detailed and informed thanks, but just wanted really to let you know it arrived and in the most seasonal style ever LOL. After a morning spent trudging through snow flurries delivering the scout post, it's certainly feeling Christmassy here in Wales!

Merry Christmas X

Those waiting on gifts: Don't worry, some of us are so disorganised that we did not get around to sending parcels/ordering online. I only did mine this weekend so I do hope they arrive before Xmas. The past couple of weeks have been hectic, with guests and lots of Xmas activities. Sorry.

Baroquin
Please don't feel that you should not have received a gift. I know that you have gone through some difficult times the past year or so and that you don't have a lot of money but you never complain and are always ready to help others.

Shabby
How wonderful your DS4 is. I loved that he secretly posted and knew that we don't like text speak. He is truly a credit to you.

shabbapinkfrog · 20/12/2010 14:36
