My 7 year old has a tattoo.

Oh how I wish this was a bid to get your attention.

from what I can gather, his dad was having a tattoo done at his own flat, and Ds1 said "What does that feel like?" and before anyone knew what was going to happen, he -who is about to die--

the tattooist jabbed Ds1's hand with the tattoo gun that was being used on ds1's dad.

So.

It's the tiniest dot, nobody told me about it, and it was 5 months ago.

I now have to take my 7 year old for a fucking hiv and hep b test.

I have a police investigation going on (but all I know is that the bloke's name is 'tattoo tony', he has relatives on the isle of wight and stars tattooes on his head/face)

And I have barred the kids from visiting their dad. Overnights will now take place here, at my huge inconvenience. And my friends and family will be dropping in to my house on these occasions, unannounced.

I was swollen with rage the day I found out. My boyfriend is taking the day off work next week and travelling 40 iles to my house to take ds1 in for his bloods, so I don't upset him with my hysteria.

I don't know what to think and I don't know what to do. My child has been assaulted and I was not informed.

fuck me!

ChristmasTrulyReigns · 22/11/2010 00:00

Fucking hell colditz I'm with you on this.

I'd be incandescent.

I'm glad you have a supportive BF.

What's DS's reaction?

Honeydragon · 22/11/2010 00:01

Oh god you poor thing Shock - I don't know what to say to make it better, but you are doing better than I would. Sad Shock

colditz · 22/11/2010 00:01

If I catch that bloke I don't think I will be held responsible for my actions. I am actually frightened of what I will do.

no idea, but hugs for you. very un mn i know. but , i think you are being far calmer than i would be.,

colditz · 22/11/2010 00:03

Ds1 really isn't bothered.

The worst of it is - he's been telling me for months. Fucking months. And I've been ignoring him (well, 'Mummy ignoring', where you say "Ooohhh yes, very nice!") because I thought it was pen and he was pretending.

colditz · 22/11/2010 00:04

I had to be taken away to my friends house on Friday, shouting and roaring and bright red in the face. This was before I found out exactly what happened and all I wanted to do was find my ex and, erm, explain my rage to him in no uncertain terms, and my friends, luckily, care enough about me to risk my temper and physically stop me.

OP posts:
colditz · 22/11/2010 00:05

he's maimed. my child is fucking maimed.

if he has caught anything, anything at all, there is going to be one less twat in the world.

OP posts:
wukter · 22/11/2010 00:07

Bloody hell Colditz.
What a thick fool he is.

colditz · 22/11/2010 00:07

My instant reaction was that they are never seeing their dad again.

then it was that they will never see him without me present.

Now I have simmered down a little, enough to know that although a more sensible approach 9such as not having a fucking tattoo while your small children are around) might have prevented it, it wasn't their dad that actually did it, and in his way, he's upset too - but the hep b and hiv risk (low, as it was his own needle and tattoo kit) is something that hadn't even occurred to him.

OP posts:
colditz · 22/11/2010 00:08

Who tattoes a 7 year old? What fuckhead tattooes a 7 year old? Ds1 didn't even ask him to, he only asked what it felt like.

he didn't even say to Ds's dad "shall I show him>??" - he jst did it!

OP posts:
Sakura · 22/11/2010 00:09

Don't worry about not listening to him. How could you possibly have anticipated that your 7 yr old had a real tatoo Confused. Well, you couldn't.
Just to reassure you, I'm sure your DS's bloods are fine. When I was 15, I went to the dodgiest, dirtiest backstreet tatooist, because it was so cheap. I went to another similar one when I was 17, then panicked when I had to have bloods done to travel, but I was fine.
Would be so angry if I was in your shoes.

Honeydragon · 22/11/2010 00:09

Colditz my ds is 7 - I feel alternately like weeping /ripping of tattooists head just reading your op - please let the police get him. Do not get yourself in trouble!

colditz · 22/11/2010 00:11

Am I over reacting by not allowing the boys to visit their dad's flat any more?

OP posts:
wukter · 22/11/2010 00:14

If their Dad has gotten a good big kick in the arse and knows how inappropriate this is, he could probably be trusted again, some time.
If he thinks you're over reacting, then no, don't let them go.

colditz · 22/11/2010 00:16

He hasn't said I'm over reacting. he hasn't argued with me at all on this issue, actually. All he says when I tell him how serious this is is that he "didn't realise" - but then, it didn't occur to a couple of the people I've told. Not everyone knows that tattooing is an invasive procedure.

OP posts:
wukter · 22/11/2010 00:17

The thing is, whet other perfectly obvious things will he just 'not realise'?

OTTMummA · 22/11/2010 00:18

Why didn't his dad tell you?
I would have serious trust issues over that alone.
Can you get him to court? make him also pay for laser surgery to have it removed?
Why was your ex having a tattoo done in his house? was the prick a 'friend'?
If so, then no, i wouldn't let my kids there unsupervised again.

colditz · 22/11/2010 00:19

Exactly. That's my concern.

That's why I want them in My house, with MY house rules (from while ds1 will brook no deviation (ASD - yes, yes it does get worse)

And They will be getting one overnight a week, and Exp's girlfriend has to be here too.

OP posts:
Sakura · 22/11/2010 00:20

I don't think it would go amiss to 'punish' the dad a little, but it does sound like he is on your side on this, so maybe they could go to their dad's flat again.

colditz · 22/11/2010 00:20

get who to court - his dad?

No ... he didn't do it, and he didn't realise it was about to happen. how could you predict that someone would reach out and tattoo your child, without so much as a by-you-leave?

The tattooist is just a mobile tattooist - but NOBODY seems to know the cunt's second name.

OP posts:
Sakura · 22/11/2010 00:21

OH, yes, he didn't tell you did he Confused ...missed that part

colditz · 22/11/2010 00:22

It's not that I want to punish and inconvenience him (although I did on Friday) - I just don't trust his judgement at the minute.

OP posts:
ShanahansRevenge · 22/11/2010 00:23

Oh my effing GOD! That is truly terrible! What an idiot! Do you have reason to think that your DS Dad may have some sort of disease? Or are you afraid the dickwad tattoo person did not have clean needles?

MiasmARGGG · 22/11/2010 00:23

Fucking hell Shock

How big is this dot and where is it ?

I'm furious on your behalf!
