from what I can gather, his dad was having a tattoo done at his own flat, and Ds1 said "What does that feel like?" and before anyone knew what was going to happen, he -who is about to die--

the tattooist jabbed Ds1's hand with the tattoo gun that was being used on ds1's dad.

So.

It's the tiniest dot, nobody told me about it, and it was 5 months ago.

I now have to take my 7 year old for a fucking hiv and hep b test.

I have a police investigation going on (but all I know is that the bloke's name is 'tattoo tony', he has relatives on the isle of wight and stars tattooes on his head/face)

And I have barred the kids from visiting their dad. Overnights will now take place here, at my huge inconvenience. And my friends and family will be dropping in to my house on these occasions, unannounced.

I was swollen with rage the day I found out. My boyfriend is taking the day off work next week and travelling 40 iles to my house to take ds1 in for his bloods, so I don't upset him with my hysteria.

I don't know what to think and I don't know what to do. My child has been assaulted and I was not informed.

on account of the fact he didn't tell you i.e there is chance he thought it was normal to stab a 7 year old with a tattoo gun or he wanted to protect 'tattoo Tony ' then I think it's fine for you to not let them go until you gauge the situation

I have to say that these days...with tattoing becoming so popular, that it would be a rare tattooist who did not practice safely...new needles every time and all that...

I know it was a clean needle before it was used on his dad - it was his OWN needle and gun.

I don't have a massive reason to believe he would be carrying a disease, but we split up 4 years ago, and I don't know what he's been up to. He's not promiscuous but he's had a few tattoos.

I think he just knew that I would go absolutely fucking nuclear and was scared of my reaction. My own boyfriend, no fan of ex's, has pointed this out, and so has my mother.

And I believe him what he said he didn't realise hep or hiv was a risk.

I'm sure you are rotten with worry right now...but if as you say DS Dad isn't the shag around type and the needles were clean then there is a very low chance of your DS having anything...very low.

Of course that does not make it better...and I hope you manage to get hold of Tatto Tony and tattoo his eyelids with AR on one and SE on the other.

Horrible that he felt he had the right to do that to a child, just because he's vulnerable (being a child and all). He wouldn't do it to a big beefy man would he?

If I get hold of Tattoo Twatty Tony he's going to wake up in a ditch with two missing fingers and something MUCH stranger than 'arse' tattooed across his eyeballs.

The dot is roughly 1 mm across and on the back of ds1's right hand.

I have an almost 7 yr old and I would be orbital if this happened to her. I'm realy sorry this has happened to your son, I hope it all works out ok. Tatoo Tony sounds like a complete Dick, I suspect if they do catch him he'll earn the right to some nice little birdie tats on his hands. Tatooing a 7 year old? with a used needle? Madness!

The police have been ok. Someone came out to talk to me and ds1 about it, but ds1 simply rambled about Pikachu for 5 minutes then wandered off.

Nope, not him. he's got family in the isle of wight but is currently knocking around Oakham and Melton Mowbray in the Midlands.

They are dubious as to whether or not they can catch a bloke called tony who may or may not be in the east midlands, although they agree with me that a crime has been committed.

They say they will look into it tomorrow. And I will start making my own serious enquiries too, as I am short and fat, have a soft face and no uniform - people talk to me.

i really do think that if it was a clean needle and your EX hasn't been shagging around then risk is pretty low.
