My 7 year old has a tattoo.

Oh how I wish this was a bid to get your attention.

from what I can gather, his dad was having a tattoo done at his own flat, and Ds1 said "What does that feel like?" and before anyone knew what was going to happen, he -who is about to die--

the tattooist jabbed Ds1's hand with the tattoo gun that was being used on ds1's dad.

So.

It's the tiniest dot, nobody told me about it, and it was 5 months ago.

I now have to take my 7 year old for a fucking hiv and hep b test.

I have a police investigation going on (but all I know is that the bloke's name is 'tattoo tony', he has relatives on the isle of wight and stars tattooes on his head/face)

And I have barred the kids from visiting their dad. Overnights will now take place here, at my huge inconvenience. And my friends and family will be dropping in to my house on these occasions, unannounced.

I was swollen with rage the day I found out. My boyfriend is taking the day off work next week and travelling 40 iles to my house to take ds1 in for his bloods, so I don't upset him with my hysteria.

I don't know what to think and I don't know what to do. My child has been assaulted and I was not informed.

Forget that, think he's American!

colditz · 22/11/2010 10:56

Stretch - yes please, that would be really useful.

And yes, I am boiling with rage. In fact, he is moping around facebook and I just left a snotty comment but deleted it as it's pointless getting into facebook rows.

he's coming here tomorrow morning and staying over (with his girlfriend). I must force myself to be civil, but I really resent having to make up the spare bed in the kids' room just because exp is too goddamn dim to recognise the essential differences between 'a good idea' and 'a bad idea'.

There are so many bloody tattooists called tony, it's going to be impossible yto find him.

I know where he drinks though.

I have family in the Melton area, will ask around and pm if I find anything.

booyhoo · 22/11/2010 10:58

I've just had a look on that profile stretch. is that a UK number on it? it doesn't look liek it but i am in NI so ours could be different to alot of england/scotland/wales .

booyhoo · 22/11/2010 10:59

oops. xpost.

ilovesprouts · 22/11/2010 10:59

hope you find him asap

booyhoo · 22/11/2010 11:00

colditz i think your best bet is to get your EX to try and book him for another tattoo or for your EX to get someone else to book him.

Louii · 22/11/2010 11:02

Bloody hell that's awful!

If he just touched him with the needle and ink ie not firmly like if he was tattooing then chances are the ink is not very deep under skin and will hopefully just fade away.

Curiousmama · 22/11/2010 11:06

yes i thought that too booyhoo, get someone to book him and have cops waiting.

colditz · 22/11/2010 11:09

My friend has his number, and she says she's going to book him.

great keep us posted.

colditz · 22/11/2010 11:11

As for the fading - it's apparently been there five months (Ds1 says "years or weeks maybe. I don't know. Lots.") and no sign of fading yet. It's really clear.

I feel AWFUL - he was scratching like mad at that spot on his hand in the summer and I even put some cream on it for him but I thought it was a fleabite from an animal - he can't keep his hands off animals.

stretch · 22/11/2010 11:13

Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

Can't stop thinking about this. It's just such a wrong thing to do, IYSWIM? I don't understand how anybody could think it was a good idea!?

colditz · 22/11/2010 11:13

I'm not even sure if he's a 'tattooist' or just a scratcher.

When I told the people in the real, licenced tattoo palour, they were appalled. It was them who told me to book the blood test.

The ex says he hasn't spoken to tattoo tony for months, and has fallen out with him for unspecified reasons (unspecified by him - NOTHING is ever specified by him). The ex's girlfriend says tattoo tony groped her while he was doing her own tattoo and she'll not have him anywhere near her or their flat(and I am so glad she's backing me up on this)

What kind of person tattoos a 7 tear old?????????????????????????????

Oh. My. Fucking. God. This idiot will surface, and then if you're sensible you'll send the police to him. Or if you're full of maternal rage (as anyone would be) you'll consider tattooing his scrotum with 'Syphillis'. Go the police route though, it's less prisony for you. How about asking your GP about laser removal for DS? I'm sure in these circumstances they'd consider it.

colditz · 22/11/2010 11:27

I don't want to put ds1 through any pain. The dot isn't bothering him, lasers hurt.

colditz · 22/11/2010 17:21

A lead. Don't want to go into detail but I know where he will be at 6pm and have informed the police.

WowOoo · 22/11/2010 17:26

Shock Hope you find Tony. Cannot quite believe some people can be such morons.

ItalianLady · 22/11/2010 17:53

OMG ShockAngry.

I hope the police get him.

I think you are completely right not to let your ex have sole access to your child. He doesn't think. He doesn't seem bothered. Not the sort of person I would want my child with alone.

Hulababy · 22/11/2010 18:16

I really hope the lead proves useful.

I would be beyond angry. Your poor ds :(

2blessed2bstressed · 22/11/2010 18:18

Oh please let us know if the Police get a hold of him.
Your ex strikes me as foolish but not malicious. Tattoo Tony, on the other hand....words fail me. Shock
