Awarded LRC for our 3yo with suspected ADHD, ASD, FASD, NAS and general learning development delay, await referrals for SaLT, Ed Psyc, Community Peadatric - went to private consultant mid Jan and got 6 page report with the above suspected diagnosis.

MR 19/02 - was told 6-8 weeks but since got a letter saying 11 weeks

sjm100 · 13/03/2024 15:08

I've had a letter saying 11 weeks also, very worried now as just worked out the dates and the 11 week point is 3 days after my daughter turns 16 so I have no idea what will happen now or if we will even get awarded dla 🙍

Lulakate84 · 13/03/2024 16:27

Originally applied 19/09 - declined 26/01 over the phone, did MR over the phone an sent additional information 19/02 scanned onto system. Phoned Friday just gone told its in a queue and should have answer soon. So nervous

sjm100 · 13/03/2024 16:35

@LancsMcG @Lulakate84 its bad enough waiting 16/17 weeks for a decline without waiting another 11 weeks for the MR good luck both x

@Lulakate84 oh very best of luck with the MR - please do let us know how you go on - from what I've seen on the main group some people seem to get a call from the DM for a MR - so that will be interesting.

I did MR over the phone - sent some additional stuff off 3 weeks ago and about to send more off now - I know every case is different but judging from some of the awards that's been made we should have got MRC

Sarahdestiny · 13/03/2024 19:27

Currently got 2 separate MRS in
Both MR Recieved 16th febuary
1 for my 2 year old diagnosed ASD non verbal currently on MRC fighting for HRC &
1 for my 10 year old ADHD/ASD diagnosed currently on HRC LRM fighting for HRM hoping non of them backfire and awards get taken away or lowered... risk we have to take to try get what they deserve
this week is week 4 hoping for a good outcome this wait is long just like doing the claim all over again so nervous and is taking iver my life ATM 🙏

Komahra · 13/03/2024 20:40

Thats why I hesitate to send my letter, I am scared of lowering or decline.
Don't even put anything about night asthma attacks that last few hours because ,,that isnt important, and they dont look at that. I been recommended to wrote only about problems with autism adhd. melatonin and that ist take long to fall asleep and waking up constantly and it's dangerous

Its a crazy wait, after the original 20 weeks 🤦‍♀️

Claireold1986 · 14/03/2024 02:42

My daughter got declined for dla today😭 she has adhd and autism both confirmed diagnosis and on medication to carm her. dla Sent a form to school and they said that the medication has helped and the she link any normal child that is not the case. she never eats her lunch. She can be disruptive and hit out granted does not happen as much but just so shocked
Original scan date was the 16/10

LancsMcG · 14/03/2024 05:52

@Claireold1986 @Komahra
the thing that gets me is that it just seems so inconsistent in terms of their awards.

i really do believe it all depends which DM you get as reading through all of the awards / claims that other people post it doesn’t follow consistency what so ever

I agree, it is very inconsistant about whos awarded and who isnt. I know of people in very similar situations to me who have been awarded. Her school doesnt help they've blocked every effort to get her help.

@1tiredmam might be worth while calling at 9am for an update ?

sjm100 · 15/03/2024 10:20

@1tiredmam Did you call them?

1tiredmam · 15/03/2024 10:31

Hiya
Just got through. It doesn't even get passed to anyone till you're at week 8 and then may take a few more weeks for a decision if they need to contact 3rd parties. I was also told you would get a payment before you have even been informed of the results. So a while yet. I'm already on week 30 since this started.

sjm100 · 15/03/2024 10:48

Week 8!!! wow, its so unfair that you put in this claim and then it sits in a pile for X amount of weeks before its even looked at or even put forward to be looked at, and at MR you've already waited 4 months before being told you need to wait at least another 3 months. I called for forms on 19/10 and feel like this has completely taken over my life and made me feel even more of a failure as a mum than I already do watching my child suffer without the help that they need.

Hopefully next week you'll be put before a DM who can see the last DM was an idiot! x

@1tiredmam @sjm100 goodness sake - they don't half like to make a meal of it

The issue we've got is that because our son is 3 (and a half) we filled out the forms back in early October, things are moving all the time. We had a Specialist Inclusion Teacher from the Local Authority go in to nursery on Wednesday - we've just got the report now (super quick) and it's a 6 page report of what she's observed and she's put him (in several instances) at 18-24 months or 24-28 months

I'm just about to send this now to DLA (special delivery) so it can be scanned on so it's all extra evidence for when another DM does pick it up

1tiredmam · 15/03/2024 10:59

It's ridiculous. I phoned for my form on the 22 of August sent it back within a week. My almost 3 year old is non verbal autistic ( not diagnosed) but told by every professional that sees her! She is classed as low functioning she does not understand anything that is said to her. She doesn't eat or sleep. I have 6 different people see her a week ATM. I sent off the pediatrician letter that states she is well below her age. She is 6 months old for speech and language. But it takes at least 3 weeks to be scanned onto the system. So I hope the new dm sees it!

that report will definitely help your case, its so sad that we have to go through this, think I'll need a therapist when this is all over!

1tiredmam · 15/03/2024 11:06

@sjm100 That's why I asked for a different person to look at it. I got refused completely so that's what has annoyed me and I know she's entitled to high care. People have had it for less. It's not about the money ( though it helps) its for the extra support she needs.

I've been sending off anything I can get. Waiting lists around here are 2 years + so I was lucky to get a pediatrician appointment as quick as I did. Still waiting for SALT appointment and no chance of a dietetic appointment because she's not loosing weight.
