sjm100 · 05/04/2024 10:51

@Sarahdestiny Thanks for the info, that means I have 3 to 4 weeks left, I'm on week 4 / 5 on Monday x

Sarahdestiny · 05/04/2024 10:54

@sjm100 no problem is a bit of a wait yet but I have seen others being awarded after 7 weeks so you could be 1 of them lucky ones but average after 8 weeks x

sjm100 · 05/04/2024 11:00

Just wondering does everyone that has done a MR get a phone call off the Dm before awarded or do they award people without calling when it's a MR thanks x

Hiya. I didn't have any communication at all. I just had money put in my bank last week. Was done on week 8. Went from nothing to hrc. I still haven't recieved my letter explaining how long for mind.

Sarahdestiny · 05/04/2024 12:18

@1tiredmam that's brilliant bet your so pleased amazing how they can change from nothing to HRC is a real good outcome hope I have a bit of your luck x

1tiredmam · 05/04/2024 12:40

@Sarahdestiny oh its been a long process luckily I had a pediatricians letter to back up my claims. All my other evidence were referrals so nothing concrete. I was ready for a tribunal! As my daughter isn't 3 yet I didn't have much evidence. So sickening that some people claim for nothing and the ones that really need it don't get it and have to fight.

LoudBee · 05/04/2024 13:43

I called this morning, I was told 8 week wait, nice lady, good luck to all still waiting after all this time

Sarahdestiny · 05/04/2024 14:00

@1tiredmam yes I bet it has and 1 of my claims is for my son he isn't 3 yet either but he has been diagnosed but don't have much evidance really myself so wrote loads of pages and sleep diary ect x

Hi all,
currently going through MR. We’ve had a right time of it, our experience with DLA has been abysmal.

my daughter has a serious heart condition, an artificial valve, heart block, on medication 3different medications throughout the day, alongside severe GORD resulting in failing to thrive, an oral aversion, 18month old now & will have some oral diet/fluids but not enough to sustain her so has ng top ups…she was going to have a gastroscopy but because of the size & location of her pacemaker and how small she is it wouldn’t be possible. She’s had three open heart surgeries, will be having more the end of this year after which she will be on warfarin.

requested forms June via phone- 4 weeks later didn’t receive,
requested again in July and was informed that nothing had been sent out (I have phone records that prove otherwise)
scan date was in August (can’t remember exact date now)
i needed to send original birth certificate off to prove I wasn’t making up my daughter 🙄…they tried to say they hadn’t received it, I had to pay for a new one and sent that off…only then to get both of them back in the post.
then end of December I had a phone call to send more information, I sent it in (took a bit longer than expected as it was Xmas) sent that I. And a couple weeks later got a letter it had been declined- there had been a delay scanning my information on and them declining. Did an MR and sent off more information- didn’t hear anything.
called them up & they actually apologised as I should have received an acknowledgement letter- was told to call in 6-8 weeks.

i called today- lovely lady but she said they were taking 11weeks. I said that this has been going on for 9 months now & she passed me to a different department to put it as a priority & mark as urgent.
The next lady was lovely, she said they’re taking 8weeks, and that she will expedite it so I should hear in the next week or so

fingers crossed we’re almost at the end of this nightmare

sjm100 · 05/04/2024 14:40

@NGTMamma Oh my goodness that sounds awful, there someone on the main DLA thread who's child has been diagnosed with cancer and is going through something very similar with DLA, with all that going on I can't believe that you were declined in the first place. Whilst I am unable to offer you help I do send you my love and hopes that this part will end soon so all your time can be focused on your daughter xxx

Week 7 also had no letters at all I even rang them a few weeks ago to make sure they had it after I’d sent it special delivery did you receive any letters

LancsMcG · 09/04/2024 09:36

@Jonesy0102 i've just spoken to someone
they told me 20-25 weeks for MR
so they said I still had to wait about another 13 weeks

When I disputed this they said to call back !?

these new staff are useless

Wow I’ve seen someone get a decision after 8 weeks and people get letters saying 11 or 15 weeks but 20-25 is ridiculous I rang up a few weeks ago spoke to someone who wouldn’t tell me his name and I could hear myself talking throughout the whole conversation so I rang back the next day to confirm it was received

Sarahdestiny · 09/04/2024 10:43

I'm week 8 this week no letters or texts
And wow 20 to 25 that takes the biscuits by time we get decisions it will be renewal time ffs ..
I got told I should hear back by 19 to 22nd April if not heard before that to ring back 🤔

@Sarahdestiny oh good luck - somone on anothe thread said it gets sent to a DM after 8 weeks (thought I'd try my luck) and I think there's been two people in the last week or so who have had a response in between week 8 and 9

I come across this recently about what ages get certain award lengths if you get a call from a DM amd your award for youngest isn’t till their fifth birthday I’d mention it x

Mandatory reconsideration part 1
Sarahdestiny · 09/04/2024 11:03

@Jonesy0102 thank you I will do x

Sarahdestiny · 09/04/2024 11:05

@Jonesy0102 my youngest is 2 only got awarded for 1 year
And my 10 year old 2 years and he's 10
So dno how that works obviously gone to Mar for both awards but don't no if will change length of awards x
