Started this thread to help people pass the time and also communicate time frames and outcomes going through the process of a MR

@Mummytoviboys good luck - we are all in this together so please do let us know how you go on - and fingers crossed it is resolved this time around and it doesn't need to be escalated furher

Mummytoviboys · 28/03/2024 10:36

@LancsMcG thankyou! This last bit of waiting is the worst!
I will update as soon as I know but I could still be waiting until the end of next week 🤞

LoudBee · 28/03/2024 15:08

Submitted a MR on the 22/2, almost 5 weeks, I’m sure it’s taking 8 weeks although I’ve not had a letter or anything as yet?

126t · 28/03/2024 15:12

MR 1/2/2024 had letter saying 15 weeks

sjm100 · 28/03/2024 15:13

@LoudBee Mine was submitted the day I received my decline on the phone 04/03 and I had a letter about a week later stating that they were taking 11 weeks, but I think from what people have said that it is taking less than that. It is probably worth ringing to make sure they have it especially as you haven't received a letter.

MR 1/2/2024 had letter saying 15 weeks

my MR date is after yours and my letter was saying 11 weeks, it makes me wonder if they know what they are doing sometimes!

Jadexxx92 · 28/03/2024 17:38

LancsMcG · 28/03/2024 18:16

@Jadexxx92 congratulations - just saw you were awarded on the other thread... did you receive a call or anything from DM?

Jadexxx92 · 28/03/2024 18:41

@Sarahdestiny yes we did a COC was denied did MR was awarded HRM not sure if it under SMI or VUW I forgot to ask with the disbelief.. @LancsMcG no phone call. I rang yesterday afternoon was told it with DM but they have reached out to medical experts. Decision made today.

Sarahdestiny · 28/03/2024 18:45

Mr 8th Feb decision made today!

7 weeks is brilliant considering people wait much longer ours went in 27th Feb

Jadexxx92 · 29/03/2024 10:03

@Sarahdestiny good luck with yours!! 🙏 there truly is hope with HRM under SMI/VUW. I have seen that many posts being rejected and having to go to tribunal I was sure that was going to happen, I sent in quite abit of evidence, but nothing that I fort would be concrete enough for the DM iwith what I have seen with there silly rejection reason. @Jonesy0102 time scale was not bad at all I have seen others still waiting, I was told 6 weeks at first then 8 weeks now I have seen up to 15weeks.

Jonesy0102 · 29/03/2024 10:12

well done glad you go what you deserve what part of uk are you in thanks as some people seem to think it matters at times

4outof4 · 29/03/2024 19:48

My sons is 11 weeks today so some are taking longer!

1tiredmam · 30/03/2024 15:05

Hi guys. Just checked my bank and hrc went in today for 31 weeks. I'm not entitled to mobility due to her being under 3. Fingers crossed for everyone else doing theirs. MR was done at 9 weeks :)

sjm100 · 31/03/2024 11:04

@1tiredmam congratulations x

Mummytoviboys · 31/03/2024 14:30

Congratulations to those who have been awarded over the weekend!
I was 9 weeks Friday, with a DM Thursday, I’ve got a horrible feeling it’s a decline!

4outof4 · 31/03/2024 14:31

That's great news.
I'm hoping ours is delayed as is being checked with my sons medical team, I did quote their guidance note and highlight them to show if they were unsure that's what they should do 🙈

Lulakate84 · 02/04/2024 07:09

Just out of curiosity does anyone know how long back payments are taking, I was hoping it be in today but with Easter not sure if delayed - awarded on phone 27th. Thanks

Mummytoviboys · 02/04/2024 09:10

My boys been declined again 😔 tribunal it is!
does anyone know how to start this?
feeling very deflated!
in the mean time I am going to print off another form and reapply as his needs are getting greater as he’s getting older!

@Mummytoviboys oh no forgoodness sake
have they said why?
I don't know the procedure unfortunately - I believe the Citizens Advice Bureau should be able to assist

These days it's probably an online support service that they provide

Mummytoviboys · 02/04/2024 09:49

@LancsMcG he just said that they agree with the previous decision that his care needs are not more then those his age!
I filled the form out when he was 5months old, maybe age might have something to do with it! I don’t think I filled the form out as best as I could to be fair but regardless his needs have always been greater, he has a twin sister who has no conditions!
im going to reapply now that he’s over 1 but still taking this tribunal as I feel he should’ve been awarded!
good luck to everyone else, I hope no one else gets bad news this week xx

so sorry you've been declined again, especially as you can see the difference between him and his twin. I found the following info on Gov.com website regarding tribunal:

You can appeal to the Social Security and Child Support Tribunal if you think the decision in the mandatory reconsideration notice is wrong. The tribunal is supported by HM Courts and Tribunal Services (HMCTS) and is independent of government.
A judge will listen to both sides of the argument before making a decision.
You usually need to appeal within one month of the date of your mandatory reconsideration notice.
You cannot appeal to the Social Security and Child Support Tribunal until you get your mandatory reconsideration notice.

Keep fighting xx
