Started this thread to help people pass the time and also communicate time frames and outcomes going through the process of a MR

@sjm100
thank you! Xx

I have just had another letter dated the 13th of march saying 15 weeks wait my Mr was on the 1/2/2024

4outof4 · 02/04/2024 16:17

Sorry to hear that, that's so frustrating. Is the tribunal process just as long winded? We're 12 weeks at the end of this week. We may well be doing the same, no decision as of Thursday last week.

sjm100 · 02/04/2024 16:27

@126t oh no, its already long enough, my MR date is 04/03 so I'm guessing I'll be receiving a letter soon, its exhausting enough without waiting 30 weeks!

Sarahdestiny · 02/04/2024 16:37

Scan date 16/02 week 7 not received another letter stating 15 weeks like others have not heard anything gonna give them a call tumorrow morning see if there's any update as of yet will update the thread after x

@4outof4
ive seen people say the tribunal process can take up to a year!
im going to reapply in the mean time as my boy was only 5months old and his care needs are greater now!
I just can’t believe he’s been declined, he’s certified partially sighted and has a genetic disorder that prevents him spending time outside! His brother that has the exact same condition was awarded MRC at his age!
fingers crossed for you that you get some good news 🤞xx

I’ve seen people awarded a few days later after asking for a tribunal they receive a phone call from a DM I think so see what happens before reapplying 😉 @4outof4

Mummytoviboys · 02/04/2024 21:25

Me too hope you get what your family deserves x

My eldest has adhd and asd, she has high rate care and has done since 6, she has day and night needs. My youngest although no diagnosis yet, but has a report from paediatrics and OT detailing day and night needs, presents exactly the same with the added bonus of type 1 diabetes so has more needs. He is not yet well managed and it takes so long to get his meds done especially during the night. I've provided 10 days of graphs to show he's needed attention to his levels during the night each night along with the other reports and a letter from the diabetes team. I think I should probably start gathering them for more proof.
I've another claim in for middle child, he has asd & adhd but has coped well until now so hadn't claimed. Secondary school seems to have ruined his coping mechanisms and is really struggling since.

Hiya, I recived letter today saying 11 weeks to look again at claim...

Sarahdestiny · 04/04/2024 16:06

Looks like another month to wait if that's the case #getting sick of waiting ✋️ now is a P*take x

Soukmyfalafel · 04/04/2024 16:08

Hi Everyone, currently going through this. Son has ASD and probable LD. He is very unsafe left unattended but is mobile. We are appealing the LRM to HRM based on SMI and sent reports stating his development is severely delayed and his functioning level is in the lowest centiles. He is non verbal, has PICA and absconds/runs into people/traffic. We need to restrain him to get him to move in the right direction at home, school,outside. Anyone else going through the same? I don't feel hopeful. It seems the assessors pretend that the SMI element of HRM doesn't exist. He has HRC as he has a sleep disorder and needs night care.

Just wondering does everyone that has done a MR get a phone call off the Dm before awarded or do they award people without calling when it's a MR thanks x
